para sa akin overrated ang SLI or xfire.. kasi based on reviews sa net mga 10-20% lang ang performance gain pag SLI/xfire setup ka yun nga lang astig ang rig mo pag naka SLI hehehe..

as for gaming, not all games support SLI/xfire technology.. IMHO a single next gen card will always be a better solution than 2 cards from a previous generation in SLI/xfire mode..

When I was reading up for building specs for a PC last year, I read a review on a GeForce 7600GS that clobbered two 6600GT's in SLi mode. But I think it really depends on which cards are being talked about.

Unless circumstances surrounding my buying of the second card is very favorable, I wouldn't bother with SLi/Crossfire, either.

And an sli next gen card will always be better solution than a single next gen card  :-D And hindi lahat ng bago better than previous gen, depende sa sitwasyon yan, minsan maghahantay ka pa ng maayos na driver release bago maging ok yan, for example itong 8800 namin nung previous driver releases hindi lumalabas yung video ng call of juarez tapos nagkaka problem pa sa shadow ng ibang games, ngayon lang gumana at naayos sa current driver release.

And regarding not all games supporting SLI/Xfire, yung mga lumang games sigurado di supported (since di na kelangan dahil sobra na bilis) at yung mga pipitsuging games, pero lahat ng quality games sigurado supported yan. Unless you play zuma, textwist pizza frenzy, yun di nga supported yun..

maybe what you read didnt give you enough information about what crossfire and sli does...

+1  :-D

Baka naman 800x600 yung reu na nilalaro nila?  :-D pag nasa 1400x900 pataas na resolution mo sasabit na yan at makikita mo yung malaking porsyento ng SLI/Xfire. Isa pa, tumataas din frame buffer mo (since dodoble memory) so mas mabilis ka pag naka anti-alias.

Peace! Just want to enlighten regarding SLI, di po namimilit, pero baka kasi wrongly informed lang kayo regarding the technology..

Eto pa pala, downide ng SLI is siyempre mas malakas ang power requirement so kelangan malakas ang psu para kayanin yung dual video cards. Doble gastos!  :-D

And isa pa, SLI is not ALWAYS a need, pero it is ALWAYS a want  :-D gulo no?

its just like this... Next Gen Cards will cost you alot! like getting 1 8800GTS when you can get the equal performance with 2 x 7600GT SLI

do the math!

and please!!! the topic is not about if you're against SLI/ crossfire or not... the thread starter is asking who amongst us have used and SLI on their PC

PEACE!

ha! like things never go off-topic anywhere else...

Sige po.

I've used SLi briefly before with an acquaintance's rig, but my own PC doesn't support it. Some months back, Intel Phils. sent us a system with the D975XBX board for review, which supports Crossfire, kaso isang 7600GT lang sinama nila and we didn't have the necessary ATi cards to test it.

Now,if I may go a little OT again...  :-D

I'm guessing most people go SLi to augment his/her existing video solution. In this case, power consumption and heat are my primary concerns. Again, all these depend on the actual make and model of the card being used.

Haaaayyy... some people just seem to love the attention...

Interesting tidbit about the D975XBX. Any links on the review? It's nice to hear a local perspective sometimes.
