Appropriate Drumset/Cymbals for Church Set Up? *merged*
« on: October 13, 2009, 09:43:43 AM »
Mga bro patulong naman.

Our church is planning to buy a new drumset kaya lang di namin alam kung acoustic ba o digital drumset ang bibilin.

Digital:

Acoustic:

Thank you and God bless us all!!!

can you give us a brief description of your church? list down ko para naman makapag bigay kame ng medyo magandang advice.

Bro if you want a long term investment for the church, Choose the acoustic set.

Pros and cons of Electric Set

Pros
-You can control the volume.
-yun lang

Cons
-Feel and sound is so unreal. At 1st you're excited with a Digital Kit but after few weeks of playing it, you'll still long for an acoustic kit.
-Repair is pain in the ARSE!!!
-After sales is so poor. You can't even buy extras for that.

Acoustic kit is the winner. You only need to adjust yourself of playing light depending on the situations.
But hey.... It's all good!!!

If you're serious you can contact me at 0917-8388783/0922-4728783

tama si sir sandy .... gusto m ng good investment ... go for acoustic drums ...

Electric drums naman eh pang practice lang or if you're still stuck at the 80's bands!! hehehe...

Another pro's ng electric drum eh
1) Always naka TONO.
2) Madaling itransport
3) madaling i-setup at iligpit.

For Sale:

Zildjian ZHT 10" Splash = 2K BNew Gibraltar single pedal and Straight stand = 2K each  PM Me ty..

Heads (as in Ambassadors) for a 5 piece set should cost under 6k. If the shells are still in good shape, and depending on the condition of the hardware (lugs, tom arms, tension rods), replacement parts will cost about the same. So you could overhaul your existing drumset for a fraction of the price of a new one. And doing the overhaul yourselves will teach all of you a lot about how to maintain it.

Kanya kanya tayo ng preferences. Pabor ako sa e-drums. I agree na medyo iba ang feel but it'll just take a little while para masanay ka. With your choice (TD9K), mesh na yung snare mo so halos pareho na ng feel ng real snare head yun. Ganyan ang first kit ko and wala naman problem sa akin yung rubber toms. I then upgraded to TD9KV na puro mesh na pati toms (and iba ang module).

Adjustable naman ang velocities ng e-drums. Cymbal chokes, snare buzzes etc. emulated naman. Napaka bilis iset-up. 2 channels lang kakainin sa mixer niyo. Nakamix na yung sound.

Regarding e-drums sounding too digital (unnatural, robotic whatever), Roland factory sounds are good naman. With the right tweaking sa main house mixer, lalabas ang natural drum sound (basta hindi bias ang sound engineer sa acoustic drums).

Nowadays, drum vsts are the main ingredient of e-drums and that's what I've been using. I paired my e-drum with Toontrack Superior Drummer and IMO, can blow any good sounding drum (with proper micing, eq etc sa mixer) away with its natural tone.

Check this out and see kung tunog peke pa ang e-drums ngayon:

Lahat nagawa, Rudiments, ghost notes, snare buzzes etc.

Depende talaga.

depende sa lawak ng church.

Church kasi namin, almost 100 person lang yung capacity tapos acoustic drums gamit namin. Ayun, hirap pumalo. Parang bumubulong ako. hehe.
So for me, mas ok kung electronic drums na lang. Para controlled yung tunog.

actually bro, it's better to base it by genre.. that way mas matutulungan ka namin mahanap ung right sound sa tugtugan mo.. mahirap kasi mag-base depending sa set na gamit mo.. cheers!
