Does your laptop have an HDMI or a DVI slot? If it does, madali na yan. HDMI and DVI will output HD signals to the TV, making your TV essentially an extension of your laptop screen. Just buy the proper cables. :-D

if the sound card of your lappy has optical out, you can use that to connect to the HT system. any cheap optical cable will do(kasi mahal talaga ang optical cables so kung makakita ka ng mumurahing brand patulan mo na agad)..kung wala, just get an ordinary audio jack

Parehong technology lang daw yon. and also Kailanang pa raw ng connector or adaptor kasi mas malaki ung dvi.

CD-R King...you can get HDMI cables there for less than 500...1.3a na yata version nun, good enough for your lappy to lcdtv setup..

Some LCD TV's have DVI ports. Nonetheless, tama nga. Both DVI and HDMI are plenty beefy enough for HD signals.

Oh, +1 sa CDR-King.

hdmi - audio/video

it will not make sense if youll get a vga to hdmi converter since wala din namang magbabago sa quality ng video/picture since ang source nya pa din ay vga..

so kung yung lcd tv mo may vga, mag vga ka.. then out the sound to your home theater..

If you want to save some money. Ordinary vga cable will do. Upgrade to HDMI. High definition video and high resolution audio. Kasi digital cable na cya. It is capable of transmitting uncompressed digital data.

Wave Out ng laptop (usually green stereo jack) to the corresponding input of your audio receiver. Note that most lappies don't come equipped with the ports for 5.1. There won't be an out for the centre channel, and the rear satellites. (Usually black and orange)

All green will give is front satellite stereo output, and possibly the subwoofer if you have one.
