what kind of strings do you use and why?

sa mga madaming prob sa tuning after changing gauge, benta nyo na gitara nyo tpos bili nlng kayo ng S series.. ill tell you, the best ang ZR trem.. sobrang dali itono and adjust the spring tension at the back.. will only take you several mins...

i've recently changed to Ernie Ball 10-46s (lime green pack) on all my main guitars, but also experimented with 11-49s a while back. more bottom end, i noticed a bit more sustain and the crunch is just more defined with the heavier gauge.

and D'Addario XL-something for my Semi-Hollowbody guitar 11-49. they just sound better. and give my fingers more of a workout

note: remember to tweak the truss rod and intonation when changing gauges, just incase nobody's mentioned it

im using d'addario xl 10 - 46 the reason i shifted from .009 is that the latter is too light for me and i dont know if you will agree with me...mas matibay ata yun .10 tama ba? madalas kasi maputol .009 sa akin and hindi naman ako technical player so i dont do tappings and hammer-ons saka mas makapal yun tunog.

check your intonation, saddles or your nut as well, maybe one reason why your strings break.

tried rotosounds before. didnt like it. too harsh on the fingers. but some people like it. i tried the ashdown strings and they felt very much like rotosounds but much cheaper (400+ lang). still have the ashdowns on my jazz if you wanna try em out. punta kang EB! i'll try to borrow a friends bass with rotosounds soon para ma compare ko talaga ng maayos.

oo! first time ko gumamit ng .10s 30 mins plng umaayaw na daliri ko...tsaka panay sabit ko sa bending! muntik ko na maisip na hindi ako pede sa .10s pero dahil nabasa ko ung mga threads dito about strings and adjustment mejo na-encouraged na ko...hehehee

I've been using D'Addario 10-52 on all my electrics for at least the last 10 years now. Used to change the 10 to an 11 before but have stopped doing that as I find it too much of a strain on my fingers specially if you play 2 nights of four-hour gigs in a row.

depende sa spring ng floyd mo pre... kung sanay sa 9's ung spring mo walang problema yan..
ung akin 8-38 na ernie ball ang ginamit ko dati, nag switch ako sa 9-46 na d'addario lumutang n ung bridge dahil mkapal ang strings nkaattach ngaun compared sa dati..

mas maganda kung stick k n lng sa iisang gauge.. or kung gusto mo talagang palitan ng ibang gauge, matagalan n pagtotono yan. heheh.

buo din yung tunog ng lp, kahit na dati naka .13's ako. 200 lang din tong snarling dogs. nakinig ako sa advice ni peewee at ni turi salamat nga pala mga kapatid

ung rotosound mas "buo' sound ko IMO may free 1st string pa.

I've been using Light Top/Heavy Bottom strings eversince. Gauges: 10-13-17-32-42-52 (minsan 9's din) Why? Mas heavy kasi sakin ang tunog nya when it comes to riffs.. kasi makapal yung strings na  E A D.  then sa solo.. very comfortable sa G B E strings. I usually go for DR and D'Addario strings.

same string gauges tayo sir, saan makakabili nung DR set? medyo mabigat yung d'addario eh, 400+ isang set

I used Dean Markleys for years before switching to D'Addarios. The DM strings feel a bit stiffer/tighter to me than the DAs. The only reason I switched was because I came across a great deal on 25 sets of D'Addario EXL120 (9-42) strings.

Anyone remember 5150 strings (made by Ernie Ball)?
