If you want to know if it's authentic pdp or dw, maybe this will help - all dw maple shells come standard with a maple reinforcing hoop at the top and bottom of the shells. You actually have to specify to dw if you want it ordered without the reinforcing hoops, otherwise they include the hoops as standard. It's what makes the dw sound unique. DW birch shells come standard without these hoops and they will never make one with these because the sound will not be optimal for this kind of wood.
Even authentic pdp's follow this design approach. DW boasts that the PDP's have the same sound as their DW sibling except for the hardware and finish, therefore appealing more to the mass market (but I'm not sure about the lower pdp models).
Kaya kaduda duda yung maple red kit na naka display sa Lyric sa Parksquare. Maple nga pero ala naman reinforcing hoop.
