i used to have a colt pero kinuha ng tito ko kasi natatakot siya na gagamitin namin kung may maka-away kami. :-D my tito has a collection of guns in his home by the way, from pistols, to shotguns, hunting rifles and assault rifles. all have permits.

Which one? The Tausur, Springfield, etc... Im inlove with 9mm, dont like 45s to much. My favorite and dream 9mm is a Beretta 92FS and now another new model: Px4 Storm. Maybe someday hehehe...

Is a Taurus PT24/7 SA/DA .40 S&W any good? Thanks to anybody who can answer...
i dont have a Taurus PT24/7 so I can't give a good review..pero nung naghahanap ako ng production pistol isa sa choices ko yang 24/7 kasi mura and plastic which is good for carry..kaso sabi sa mga forums hit or miss ang quality ng taurus kaya medyo mahirap kung gawin mong daily carry baka pag kailangan mo tsaka sumablay..meron din namang magandang feedback sa kanila, pero kung accurate?accurate sya.. nakahiram na ko ng taurus .357 mag na revolver maganda groupings... :-D

Nov. 17-21 go to megamall na now na! sale na guns kaw na mamili. kung ako tatanungin mo kung pang-bahay lang i'll get a shotgun point and shoot lang if you want a shorter gun go with 45,40,.44 mag,357 mag, nasa placement pa din ng bala ang importante plus na lang ang caliber..don't forget to bring NBI clearance and police clearance sir required na yon ngayon e :-D enjoy shopping!

Hey nice thread! So you can buy a gun with just those? I thought you have to have a proof of threat on life or some document like that. Or sa licensing na ba hahanapin yun? Fill-up all information required and attach your 2x2 colored picture in the space indicated.
Attach the required original or authenticated photocopy (duly authenticated) by the agency/ office issuing the document.
If there are any changes in in any information in your firearm license (I.e. address, qualification, etc.) indicate the changes in the appropriate spaces. Attach a copy of the document validating the change.
Application with lacking requirements will note be accepted for processing.
WARNING: Before signing any document, read carefully the undertaking signifying the correctness and truthfulness of your entries. Your application will be subjected to verification. Any misdeclaration may lead to cancellation of the firearm license and confiscation of firearm without prejudice to the filing of the appropriate criminal case. File your application with the Firearms and Explosives Division in Camp Crame or with the Police Regional Operations and Plans Division covering your place of residence. Your license card will be release upon presentation of your claim stub.
Requirements for License to Deal Firearms and Ammunition / Repairs of Firearms
The applicant will secure/prepare the following requirements in three (3) copies:
Location plan of the proposed gun store/repair shop showing distance from the nearest Police Headquarters (in meters)
Sketch of the firearms and ammunition vault showing inside dimension and construction materials used and the kind of door and locking device.
Copy of Business Registration of the firm with the Securities and Exchange Commission (Articles of Incorporation and By-laws) and/or Department Trade and Industry.
Clearances of the Manager/Proprietor/Person who will manage the FA/Ammo Dealership or perform the repair of firearms form the City/Municipal Mayor, Metropolitan/Municipal Trial Court, City/ Municipal Chief of Police in the place of his/her residence, NBI Clearance and DI Clearance.
The applicant will accomplish Application for License to Deal in Firearms and Ammunition (Form 1)
The applicant will write a supplementary letter addressed to the Chief, PNP (thru: Channels) requesting issuance of License to Deal in Firearms and Ammunition/Gun Repair and also stating among other things, the following;
Certification or Affidavit of the Corporate Treasurer and Bank Statement that Paid-up capital stock of P500,000 as proof of capitalization.
Location of gun store/gun repair whether it is properly constructed of strong materials and safely located.
Whether it is provided with burglar and fire proof vault enough to safely accommodate the quantity of firearms and ammunition applied for.
Name of Proprietor/Manager who will actually manage gun store/repair firearms and his/her qualification and experience in the business.
Picture of gun store/repair shop and depository vault.
Certification from PPD that the gun store/repair shop is secured and safe from insurgents
Tax Identification Number Re-Revenue Regulations No. 11-99
Such other information that will justify the application.

From the Police Provincial City Director, the application will be forwarded to the CHief, FED which after processing will be forwarded to the Chief, PNP (thru: channels) pursuant to PNP Memo Cir No 99-009 dated 16 March 1999.
If the application is approved by the Chief, PNP License To Deal Firearms and Ammunition/ License to Repair Firearms is issued by C, FED after submission of Dealer's Bond by the applicant.
NOTE: *Applicant for Indentor's License To Deal Firearms and Ammunition and other related items to PNP, AFP and other Government Entities for commercial purposes shall disregard the requirements in paragraph in 1a and 1b and paragraph 1a, 2b, 2c, 2e and 2f. *Applicant for Firearm Repair Stop disregard item 2a.
Renewal of License to Deal Firearms / Ammunition and Other Licenses
Letter request re-renewal of License.
Xerox copy of License to Deal/Operate.
Mayor's Permit to Operate Business from the City/Municipality.
DI/RIID/NBI clearance of the person named in the license.
Special Bank Receipt (SBR) payment of Firearm/Ammunition Dealership/Repair License Fee.
Surety Bond (Dealer's Bond) required pursuant to SEC 884 of the Revised Administrative Code.
Summary of transactions made foe the last twenty-four (24) months including copies of monthly report/list individuals to whom the firearms were sold and had been licensed.
Picture of the gun store showing front view, inside view and its depository vault.
Letter justification for the late filing of renewal of license. (request to renew should be filed sixty (60) days prior to expiration)
Latest DTI for Single Proprietorship and SEC Registration for Partnership/Corporation/Incorporation.
Tax Identification Number re-Revenue Regulations No. 11-99.
For provincial applicant, secure the endorsement of the Police Provincial/City Director with the following attachments:

Hi Bro iba ang division ng single stack at Hi Cap though parehas sila na standard division pero iba para sa Single Stack at iba para sa High Cap.
Halos pareho lang ng presyo pag nag pa modify ka ng Single Stack compare to High Cap.
Breakdown;

Change the classic barrel into bull (but hindi na IPSC compliant ang Standard naz naka Bull Barrel)
Change the trigger group (i.e Cylinder and Slide Comp Trgeer Set, EGW TRigger and Hammer Group or SVI Triglide)

seriously, with the recent events happening in the compound where my wife and i live, i'm thinking of getting some protection for our home. 4 incidents na may pinapasok sa mga kapitbahay namin - with the last 2 done within a span of 5 days. we are going to form a home owners association soon and probably get a security guard but i still want to be assured that i can defend on my own if the need arises. my wife is pregnant and i don't want to take any chances.
why do you say that shotguns are the best for home protection? mga how much kaya ang budget for a basic shotgun? i'm actually looking into getting a pistol lang. siguro 9mm or .40 but nabasa ko dito na shotgun ang best for my purpose.

I used the full metal jacket (FMJ) as an example. This is the type of bullet that relatively retains its shape when fired. It could go through soft tissue easily and still has the energy to go through a structural barrier. For home defense, a jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullet is ideal. When it hits an object, the hollow tip will 'mushroom' and most of its energy will be dissipated. While it produces a small entry wound, the exit wound is much bigger and the damage to internal organs much greater. Therefore, greater stopping power.

Believe it or not, the more expensive, higher end shotguns have less recoil. But like what was previously said, it's just a matter of getting comfortable with your gun. As the U.S. Marine's My Rifle Creed goes: "This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless." :-P

pero kung ako sayo,kumuha ka na lang ng pistol at mag apply ka PTC para dun..para kahit asan ka dala mo,kung kukuha ka naman ng shotgun for home defense at wala ka rin dun at sau nakapangalan..di rin nila pwede gamitin un,kasong maliwanag un..kea da best pa din ang pistol,tapos hundreds of rounds sa range..better kung thousands para magamay mo ng husto..

seriously, with the recent events happening in the compound where my wife and i live, i'm thinking of getting some protection for our home. 4 incidents na may pinapasok sa mga kapitbahay namin - with the last 2 done within a span of 5 days. we are going to form a home owners association soon and probably get a security guard but i still want to be assured that i can defend on my own if the need arises. my wife is pregnant and i don't want to take any chances.
why do you say that shotguns are the best for home protection? mga how much kaya ang budget for a basic shotgun? i'm actually looking into getting a pistol lang. siguro 9mm or .40 but nabasa ko dito na shotgun ang best for my purpose.

bro get a mossberg shotgun, for me it's the next best thing to benelli..as far as I can remember mga 50k meron ka na...then get a high capacity .40, pag CQC kasi mas madali gamitin handgun for me..or get something shorter than a shotgun like uzi or mp5..imagine kung hide and seek play kayo ng bad guy mas madali ka makikita pag mahaba dala mo gawa ng shadow...anyway, mahalaga may bubunutin ka hehehehe! a norinco AK47 pala costs 45k php lang mas nakakatakot yon kaysa shotgun choose the right ammo na lang to make sure na wala kang madadamay na di dapat madamay pag ginamit mo sa scenario... :-D

while I agree shotguns are one of the best home defense choices out there, I would advise you getting a pistol instead. It's easily concealable so that strangers will not be able to access them but can be positioned near your bed para kung may intruder pwede mo maaccess quickly. mas ok kasi yung gun na gagamitin mo for self defense eh napapractice mo din sa range...pag nasa situation ka na kasi na kailangan mo na gamitin baka di mo na magamit ng maayos since clouded na yung mind mo. In situations like that muscle memory nalang maaasahan mo.
oh yeah if ever pistol mapipili mo, there's this arguement din na mas reliable ang revolver kaysa other types of pistols due to it's simplistic design. my stand on this is if you try to practice regularly and clean your pistol it won't really matter but others may have a different opinion.

if you want to take things a lil further, magipon ka for a glock 17 para magamit mo rin sa competitions sa "prodcution division" sa production division kasi dapat stock lang yun gun so no excuse for GAS upgrades haha and 9mm lang siya so mas cheaper yung ammo and if nasa bahay ka and may intruder, less likely na mag through and through yung projectile so di kana magwoworry about the back area of your target...atleast kung magcocompete ka then sharp na yung skills for whenever you need to use your pistol :D di mo naman kelangan manalo, just use the competition to put you in that high stress sich...

Been to Jethro shooting range. I was going through a brake up and saw the range they have in Alabang Festival Mall... It was worth it. They have one in Makati as well. If you want to be a member it's like 2K. But they also cater to those who just want to try it out. You just have to pay for everything you use though pero it's pretty reasonable. I think gun rental was like 200bucks. the range is 250 may kasama na 50rounds if i remember correct, then you pay for the target board and paper which is like 10bucks

ayoko na sa indoor ng jethro makati,maikli at di maganda ang ventilation dun..singhot mo lahat..hahahaha..ok din sana sa outdoor range nila,kaso mejo mataas maningil... :)

nice! siguro for now ganito nalang muna as a hobby..iniisip ko medyo magastos nga ang gun ownership and yung permits and application etc. tama na pag renew ng driving license and passport at POEA ang pagengage ko sa government "services"..yun palang malaking hassle na..paano pa kaya pag gun ownership..not bad for a lazy weekend 1000k for merienda,gas and gun rentals sa range per session..
hehehe depende nalang pag na HOOK talaga..hehe

Hi Mark, may parking ba yung toughguys ? nakasubok ako dati pa sa green valley sa may pasig..halos ganun din yung rates..first time ko mag firing..hirap din ah! puro labas yung bala sa papel..hahaha pero Im hoping to do it again sama ko wifey!

awesome! Im in this thread just this afternoon while eating lunch I felt Id like to try competition shooting as a sport.reading past pages now..hmmm glock pwede na pala sa production shooting..

kasi advice saken ni erpats, once-in-a-while eh mag-firing range ako na gutom at nanlalambot.. para daw sa mismong eksena na 'babaril na talaga' (self-defense of course; and home protection/security purposes only) eh hindi ako mag-panic at mag-hesitate ng marami.. alam nateng lahat ang feeling pag sa TAO na nakatutuk ang LOADED na BARIL. kumbaga, hindi mawawala ung grip, stance, accuracy at sight direction inspite sa 'KABA at TAKOT' (pressure sets in).
na-try ko na ung sinabi niya (ERPATS) na dapat gutom at nanghihina.. Solid! nung ng fire na, puro DELTA tira ko sa TARGET BOARD, madalas wala nga sa Board eh..hahaha.. walang wala! pati GRIP ko eh nawawala na sa porma (gamit ko pala eh .45 1911).. imagine the recoil..
now i know the feeling, what more kung andun kana sa scenario between LIFE and DEATH.. andyan pa kaya GRIP, STANCE, SIGHT at ACCURACY ko.. kaya practice pa ng practice.. in the end, MUSCLE MEMORY will stand up kahit ano pang pressure haharapin mo..it will become MUSCLE-MATIC... :wave:

Dko lang ma-verify if the location is the same place where Airsoft enthusiast play there so called 'war games', wannabe 'battlefield'. >:D I can hear kse echoes of firing when I had a project from a nearby Subdivision months ago. Dko lang sure kung firing range ba talaga o bka may NPA lang dun sa mountain terrain ng Antipolo, haha! :lol:

Not sure kung advisable coming from an underbone bike, but hopefully I'm considering a Honda 250R or a Ninja 250R. Been reading a lot of reviews and how to's from another forum(MCP). Bka I can get inputs from you Sir as well when it comes to riding a sportbike at parang your burning-rubber din sa circuit with that Ninja. :-D

Pero I don't think they would let you put the picture on the target. Haha. I tried asking the guy and he was sympathetic enough but it was a "no". you can just imagine their face while shooting though. There's no charge for that. :razz:

If you have your own gun, you need to bring your license and your ammo.
that's what I did actually, just walked in. Accomodating naman mga tao, or probably because I'm a girl akala

Try mo din ng Metroarms MAC1911 na .40 cal naka bull barrel na. shoot din sa budget mo. Maganda din panglaro sa classic div. or HS40 kung polymer ang trip mo. May makukuha kang 35k nyan 2nd hand with accs. :)

A Glock is a good choice. New Glocks are not available in the Philippines. The Glock company has decided not to sell guns in the Philippines. They got some bad press from terrorists using their guns.
On the Internet I did see company in the USA that would do the import paperwork to ship a gun to the Philippines. I did not check the price. If it is like other products shipped to the Philippines there will be a 100 percent customs duty on it. So your $ 500. becomes $ 1000. That would be in addition to the paperwork charge.
I had checked about a Glock at one local store and the sales girl quoted me a price of about $ 1200. I found out later that she was not aware that Glock will not import any guns to the Philippines. Note the Glocks are not illegal in the Philippines, just not imported by Glock.
Members at the local gun club recommend the CZ-SP01 Shadow. It is a 9 mm 19 round automatic. It is made by Česká zbrojovka.

According to the web site, the CZ 75 SP- 01 family, from which comes the handgun of the double World Champion in shooting according to the rules of IPSC Production Division, Mr. Adam Tyc.

I have owned the 17 and the 19. I didn't like either. If you are looking for a good target pistol and protection I'll take a Smith and Wesson 38 Special with a 4 or 5 inch barrel. It's light weight . As accurate as you can be.
Doesn't cost a fortune and parts are seldom needed.
If I just had to have a auto I would go Beretta over Glock. But the Sig Sauer beats them both.
It's all in what you want to spend.

un naman talaga downside ng polymer pistols..mas malakas ng konti ang recoil..nung una ko nga nakagamit ng glock,sabog2 ung tama ng bala..hahaha..iba pa din 1911 kahit mabigat..

sanayan lang bro pag dating sa glock. meron ako g22 at colt 1911. ang layo talaga ng difference. had my g22 modified. ayun, pwede na hehe pero talo pa din ako ng naka 1911 or 2011 lalo na pag nag double tap.

Hi chief! Magandang production pistol yan stock 3. Mas mabigat ang nose nya kaya compare sa Shadow, less recoil plus maganda na din trigger pull and reset nya out of the box. Yung akin na setup pa ni Churchill before sya mamatay. Lalong maganda reset nya. Di ako active ngayon sa shooting pero kung ako sayo kumuha ka na this coming Nov Gunshow before pa magtaas ng husto ang presyo nito. Proven na yan sa mga competitions. One of the best pistol for me.

Naka set na ako bumili nung Hatsan sa Mega eh kaso may mga nakita ako na nababash ang mga Turkish made shotguns and limited ang review nung nakita kong available dun. Nakakahilo maghanap ng reviews pero napahanap uli ako, yun nga Remington and Mossberg was like the most trusted, may nakita akong dalawa na pasok sa budget sana lang available. Anyways this week ko palang makakuha ng LTOF, Neuro nalang kulang.

wala din ako makita sa net kahit international seller. mukang for animal use yung pinaka madalas gamitin tsaka yung effect ay di tulad talaga ng mga nasa movies - minutes bago madeliver yung tranq agent at bago mag fully take effect.

Fired the first 80 rounds at the range yesterday, didn't expect yung lakas ng recoil, kala ko mabibitawan ko yung baril nung mga unang putok, I immediately thought "this is not for me" :lol: madami din naman pumapasok malapit sa bullseye mark. Sa susunod, practice ko naman yung pag piga sa trigger and yung feel ng travel, mas concerned kasi ako sa recoil that time, piga lang ng piga. :lol:

Its quite easy to have ptc kung isa mga listed pros under the firearm law, no need for threat assessment, just your ID. It's very true na having a defensive handgun and ptc are not guarantee that if something horrible happens, you'll survive unscathed. You could always hear that having a plan and training is a must. Its not easy, but gun people enjoy this, sana ako din haha. So far as a new owner, what I don't like about guns is the smell of the burned gunpowder and the bore cleaner.

Thanks will look unto it, I was initially looking for a basic 1911 lang, Main home defense gun and weekend shooting, nagkataon lang na nabanggit ko yung Springfield RO and Pro Match Ultra which is possibly in the same price range of basic full size Kimber.

My mods so far (only drop in parts). I guess i wanted it to run 70's series stlye
Removal of firing pin block
Replaced extractor to Extra Strong(XS) Wilson Combat 70's series with very little adjustment
Replaced firing pin stop to Wilson CombatC 70's square type (said to reduce muzzle flip, and is the spec of the original design.
Replaced firing pin to 70s Ed Brown's
Replaced firing pin spring to a stronger and slightly longer Ed Brown's
Polished the feed ramps although they're already somehow smoothed by hardball ammos
Detailed strip the slide and frame, cleaned and re-oiled the parts
Smoothened a very few tooling marks.
200 rounds overall.
First 100 all stock except the magazines (wilson combat and kim tac pros) No FTE, no FTF, no brass to the face
Second 100 rounds with the mods still no failures, evidently better groups (cause this time i learned to "properly"
grip it :-D). Now I feel I could shoot with .45 all day
Next project probably with the trigger system and some nice kamagong grips

Stock functioned well naman, but then you tend to want more and have some parts close to premium grade, Enjoy naman sa drill - disassembly, cleaning, lubricating reassembly, function checks, and specially shooting outdoors and scaring the biyenan(joke) haha.

I upgraded my stock g22 with a tungsten guide rod, extended mag release, kkm and lonewolf barrels and installed lighter springs. So far so good. Mukhang roni kit na ang next :-D

Whats your take on Kimber Warrior vs Kimber Raptor? on both .45.
Have you already bought either of the two? Para sakin the warrior could have been perfect except for the rails. It could be hard to find a concealed carry holster for 1911 with rails, or that gun might even be difficult to carry and/or draw from your waist under concealed carry. You could visit the store and try putting them on "mexican carry style" and compare the feel with a non railed 1911. Also consider that a CC holster for a railed 1911 would also bring more bulk.
If your purpose or is allowed for open carry, range gun or maybe competition, then I'd definitely get the Warrior, primarily because it doesn't have the Series II safety, yung sa Raptor II meron and all Series II Kimber pistols. I own a basic Custom II that has this S2 safety. I removed a part of it, yung firing pin block lang and the spring that is pushing it. I like the series II safety, it doesn't interfere or affects the trigger, I havent have problems with it, no misfire so far when it is still in my Custom, the safety is deactivated when the grip safety is pushed, that is when you hold the gun. But there might be a one issue.
Issue is I found that the timing of that S2 safety on my Custom is off. The grip safety would give the clearance to the trigger first before the firing pin channel is totally clear of the firing pin block. It should be the reverse or ideally the timing for the clearance for both safety is equal. If the trigger is cleared first but the block is not totally out of the channel then the firing pin could still get caught and possibly cause a misfire. This is possible if the grip safety is not fully depressed or depressed to the point that it only give clearance to the trigger. I haven’t have a misfire from my Custom when it still have the S2 safety cause I have a firm grip when firing. The thought of if not firing when you needed it is what bothers me, in under stressful condition your grip may vary. Some Series II pistol users in the 1911 forums reported a misfires or light strike I should say.
Anyway both the Warrior and Raptor II is under the sub $1.5k, both should function well. Both are beautiful in black. If wala namang problem sa S2 safety ng Raptor II and the possibility of accidental dischage is your concern, get the Raptor. Anyway with that money, you have a lot of option. Or baka Nakabili ka na, haha. I was eyeing for the Warrior before. :mrgreen:
