Here's a vid that ponky26 took at the recent Blues Bruddahs jam (ponky, pa link ha?)-

i'm using an tokai springysound that i scored from changedmynametojimi, plugged into jmorrero's dzound, into bamf's homemade jcm800 clone.

the guitar is pretty much stock, except for a replaced volume knob and a refret to medium jumbos. the only mod i did to it was to wire the middle pickup's tone pot to the bridge, ala eric johnson.

in actuality, i spend more time playing at the in-between settings, coz it quacks nice. this axe is the most resonant strat i've ever owned, lotsa folks commented about its acoustic volume (light ash body when i checked), and the tokai pick ups are very good, they're staying.

i plan to get a super switch so i can bypass the tone knobs at the in-between settings form more sparkle.

In my very humble opinion, SCN's plain suck bro. I don't know what it was but when I first tried my American Deluxe V Neck I got so disappointed with the SCN's even with the S-1 switching I immediately took it out and put an EMG DG20 set. The SCN's sounded so dead, it lacked response and was too "cold" for me.

good thing i did not buy any yet. thanks for the info. happy din naman ako sa Texas Specials, so far. i've tried the Roadhouse deluxe strat sa yupangco noon, the model with the tex specials, i loved the sound of it. so i bought a set of those for my fender. nagulat  lang ako sa ibang amps/places, may 'grounded' sound.. pero i can live with it.. maybe.. hehehehe..

now, crossed out na ung noiseless.. baka GFS strat pups nalang..

Sa pagkakaalam ko, overwound = more output/volume.. in short, mas 'hot'. :-)

Dyan sa dalawa, I don't know which is better. Pareho lang ang soundclips nila eh..

clarify ko lang bro, when pups are said to be "hot"---
is it comparable to buckers?

As far as I know, hindi pa naman. Humbuckers still have more output that (regular) single coils. Pag noiseless kasi, ibang usapan na.

I'm leaning towards the V60LP sets and or Fralin's Vintage Hot.

yes, its the dreaded 60 cycle hum.

and i admit, the hum sounded more pleasant than the shred i was doing at some places... i'm a crappy shredder. i should stick closer to the bop stuff.

Fralins are the same price range. .... and that Suhr BSSP anti hum machogeezmoh is like $239. So you need to spend like $500 for a QUIET pickup upgrade.
