Some kind of record indeed.

The mini-reunion was the 9 current Rats plus:

• Tricie Gomez (ex-rat) - vox
• Tebbet Gomez - vox
• Miguel Ortigas (ex-rat) - skins
• David Aguirre (ex-rat) - Guitar
• Jun Lopito - Guitar

So 12 Rats in all.

First set was a bit cold I thought. But things quickly heated up -- the girls turned it up a notch, so by the time the jammers came on board in the second set, things were on fire and the crowd was going bananas. Migs, Trice, and Tebbet remembered everything, and Dave and Jun were whipping along.

Great gig. This should happen way more often. Too much fun -- it's criminal.

There were a ton of people taking pics, and at least one or two folks with small videocams. Predictably, none of the Rats had cameras ourselves, at wala pa ang official documentary photographer namin na si veggie joe.  But several people definitely have a pile of photos out there -- hopefully they read this thread and post them.

hey Rats, i hope you don't mind me posting your videos from the Fete de la Musique last June 2006 on youtube.  i promised to give copies to Andy but the easiest way to 'send' the files were via youtube, so....

correction ito pala ung url ng video downloader:
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php

just go to the site and you will see a box for entering the url's of youtube vids posted here (or anywhere).  click on download.  if you can't play the downloaded file try downloading again with a ".flv" extension.  in either case, you can convert the output file into mpeg or avi with Total Video Converter (paki google na lang... dami yan).

ps - are you sure you have the latest java runtime environment applet?  baka kaya ka nagkakaproblem.

you need it to run java applets on your pc that run flash vids etc. not sure if kailangan or if it will work w/ Macs. paki google na lang bro.

Delta -- cool vids! I had forgotten all about that gig. Na obvious tuloy ang mga mali namin! 

b2d  --  everything works with macs as long as the software loaded is updated. To make a long story short, go to the apple menu in the upper left hand corner and click on "software update". When it tells you that there's new software available for your computer, say "update" to everything. You'll need the owner's password to do this. Go get an ice cream cone and visit the can while it's updating everything. After you're done, update your browser by downloading the latest version of it from its homesite. Once you've done all that, everything works. It's that simple.

Very funny gig. Great crowd. Most "kalat" gig in recent memory.

Buti nalang "there's no such thing as hiya" at "there's no such thing as mali" sa Blue Rats..... sa dami kasi ng mali, nakakahiya na. So we repeated the mali many times and smiled a lot while doing it.

Most kalat to you was most fun and enjoyable to watch for us!  Great music, great people, these Rats.

It was an honor to jam again with the band.

But, man, I still remember and hear in my head that amazing 'chord subs' solo by Joey on Whipping Post. It's like having "last song syndrome" but in a good way!

Every once in a while Joey pulls these things out of his *** and just leaves us all utterly speechless. That was the first time he's ever played it that way -- we have never heard that solo before or anything remotely like it. It makes you wonder what it takes -- what kind of fluency on the fretboard is necessary to pull off something like that spontaneously. His chord knowledge has to be nothing short of encyclopaedic to do that -- the variations on the chord sub voicings pa on different sections of the fretboard -- he never lost the line along the way!

... and it showed.  Nakakatuwa when band-mates can still wow each other (di pa tapos yung bagsakan nagmumura na si Butch sa bilib kay Joey... haha!).  Considering the bands' penchant for "nguso nguso"-cum-"nodding heads" style of non-verbal communication on-stage, you guys are a treat for the eyes as well as the ears!

A piece of history made tonight: Tricie and Miguel's wedding. Jam city.

• 3beers on nylon string with Margarita G., Soprano for the ceremony
• Rats' rock & Roll lineup for the first few tunes following the cake cutting: Migs, Dyanibee, Tricie, Lefty with Tirso Ripol, then David Aguirre replacing Tirso
• The Jerks in fine form for the first set with Brutus on skins, joined by Jun Lopito, Karl Roy
• The Jerks started the 2nd set with Dyanibee on bass, Bennii Obaña on skins, joined by Kevin Roy

Had to leave early, but also in attendance were Dr. Ted, Joey P., the guys from Razorback, Wolfgang, Lokomotiv, Blue Rats, Mishka Adams, Charlie Y., and it wasn't over...... wonder who else jammed...... somebody fill in the blanks.

A great evening so far....
