Title: Accent's profile
Post by: 1st-profile on April 16, 2006, 11:15:53 PM
Accent was born out of family ties, friendship, and deep love for music. The vocalist, Dianne Eclar, made her mark in the Washington, DC music scene where she resided for 12 years. She started singing at 6 years old and since performed at places like The White House, Kennedy Center, and Constitution Hall. Dianne opened concerts for Filipino legends such as Ogie Alcasid, Jose Mari Chan, Roselle Nava, the international recording group Kai, and many more. She also released a CD “Let It Fall” which included 2 of her original compositions. Returning home to the Philippines in 2002, she has made TV appearances on GMA and MTV, performed with former band Something Infinite all over Metro Manila, and opened more concerts, while taking up Communication Arts in college. Carl Talabis on guitar is a cousin of Dianne, a playmate during childhood and best chum. He is a graduating from B.S. in nursing but finds joy in expressing his musicianship, squeezing gigs into his busy schedule. Carl formerly played lead guitar in two bands, one an experimental group BWP, which is an acronym for “Bandang Walang Pangalan” (Band with No Name) and the other, Family Affair. He’s also active in a church choir of which he is the guitarist; and also with another band called Touchdown of which he plays second lead. The acoustic duo plays a mixture of pop, R&B and a sprinkling of choice retro music with intimacy and dedication.  The two are not only talented but endowed with good looks, which in this competitive industry is a plus factor. Accent has all the makings of a hit band so watch out for them.
