Pardon my ignorance sirs. Is it electronically connected to the dslr? or is it independent? thanks.

This is independent.
You'll have to press the record button on the H1 separately.

So basically you have to turn on the recorder first then you press the record button
on the DSLR to sync with the audio.

here's another:

you need an audio connector from Zoom to the camera.. kung wala you'll need to sync it in the editing. sobrang ok kasi you have backup of your audio recording right away

mono lang kase ang recording ng dslr ngayon. kaya meron mga zoom para pwede stereo

marami na ring stereo na point and shoot kaya lang malayo talaga audio quality ng h1 sa kahit anong cam na nagamit ko

i dont normally attach the h1 on the flash shoe mount, palagi ako naghahanap ng best place for the sound e.g. h1 at the front of the bass drum while cam on the left side

this one is attached to the camera flash mount


and its best to always use a windscreen on the h1
