Vandoren sells for about 200k per piece while Rico's tag price is more or less 110k.

Just came from HK and bought a box of Vandoren V 16 soprano reed for 180k HK$ and a box of La Voz soprano reed for 140k HK$ from Tom Lee Music.

I tried those made in China reeds & so far they're ok..

I recently purchased an alto reed w/brand "Ri Yin" #2 1/2 available at Laser Music stores in SM.. and I found it's more comfortable to play than my Vandoren #2 1/2  ..I found out that Vandorens are a little thicker than other brands with the same gauge..

The brand "Flying Goose" made in China is also ok.. I bought #3 because there's no more 2 1/2 available.. I just sanded it to my desired thickness.. ayos din ang tunog..

I also got me some Flying Gooose 2 1/2 Alto reeds for P50 a piece. I am using it on my Yamaha YAS 23 and I can hear the difference between this, a Vandoren and Rico reeds. Vandoren and Rico reeds are a lot better in my opinion but the Flying Goose, for its price, is good enough for everyday practice. I also had to shave it a little to get my desired strength and ultimately the sound.
