Some say that tone is in the fingers... I still believe that good equipment can give you that inspiration when playing on stage and be confident. Anyhow, what's the worst pedal you bought over the last years? Either be bad construction, not exceeded your expectation or just plainly bad sounding...

Let's hear it!!

Mine:

Zoom 505/ 606 - distortion and modulation really sounds thin and weak. Overly processed digital noise.

too noisy for me...
Supra Distortion - bleeh... too thin for me.. Like bees
Boss MT-2 - When I was still young, I thought this is the best distortion pedal money could buy. Good for chuggy rhythms.. but doing solos? No way...

Behringer Distortion Modeller - it has this annoying 'clipping' sound when DS-1 mode is engaged... sagwa.

** These are just my own personal opinion... so please no flaming or bashing if someone mentioned you favorite pedal.

Boss Hyper Metal

I thought it sounded like the Boss Heavy Metal stomp so binili ko sight unseen, back in college. Utterly useless pedal.

Behringer AM100 Acoustic Modeler. First, I don't know why I bought the pedal even if it's cheap. I tried every bit of tinkering with the pedal and just couldn't find any sound that I could use.

digitech rp-10.bought it when i was into shredding.Too synthetic sounding and not user friendly.It looks astig tho when ur onstage

FOR ME......Keeley DS-1 Ultra Mod....didn't like how it sounded in my amp....better off buying a stock SD-1

i never bought a pedal i didn't like. but a decade ago, my dad bought me a Denio Distortion pedal. major sablay yung tunog nun hehe

di kaya depende sa setup sir Phil? pero dapat it should sound ok kasi carvin amp mo... vai used this pedal for a long time with keeley ts9dx, now he is using analog man ds1/pro and still ts9dx baka ngsawa na sya sa tunog.

Boss FZ2 HyperFuzz

Yung gain boost lang nagagamit ko dito -- which is just an add-an function

Can't get a decent sound with the fuzz.

I don't think it's overrated. I like the sound of mine with my setup. Kanya kanya lang yan, (defensive ano)hehe.

Akin naman yong DOD L.A. METAL atsaka DIMARZIO METAL PEDAL. Not even close to metal

it was my first guitar bass effect as well, zoom 505
it becomes worst when my 2nd sense matured...

a Fab distortion. hehe

i bought it packaged with a Fab OD. The Fab OD was far better.

not too much gain, perfect for boosting an amp

for me behringer ultra chorus, couldn't really get anything out of it. just used it as a double out for stereo effect when playing live. might just be me pero di ko talaga nagustuhan ung performance nung stomp box.

then there's this stomp box by ibanez from way back that my friend bought. the ibanez cyberdrive. we we're into grunge and old school rock and that thing was better off with spacey electrinica loops than what we were playing. para syang pinaghalong distortion plus flanger tapos sobrang treble and hindi mo rin pwede i tweak ung pagka flange nya.

for me a TECH21 XXL bought it twice ksi akala ko nagsisi ako pero ganun parin,a cross between a fuzz and distortion.(bowteek wannabe)

TECH21 SANSAMP GT2.Pangit sa magandang amp.

phil's right a stock SD1 is rather ok for most amp setup.

I hear you dude... I guess 'di pa yata ok ang digital effects sa distorted sounds. In fairness, ok din daw sa rythm yan pero solo is manipis din.

Zoom 707 - too digital sounding distorted effects.

I'm not dissing it. It didn't suit my taste. I bought it brand new from him. I TRIED liking it....pero kahit na I tried...it wasn't what I was looking for. I love my Tube Driver more than that pedal....as an od and as a boost.

Ditto. Although I did get to try a Denio Super Overdrive years back, which, IMHO was smoother and by far a better DISTORTION pedal than the Denio Distortion. Hmm, I wonder if those Lazer pedals have the same circuit.
