Fender Mustang I, II, III, IV, V and Floor Users Thread

For the longest time, I had no gigging amp so I was always at the mercy of whatever amps were at the venues we were playing in. And then we played at this year's UP fair where I was given what I think was a Fender Blues Jr. amp to play through. It sounded so good that I knew I had to have one. During the course of doing research, however, I came across the Mustang III V2 and decided that it was the more practical choice.

Fast forward to four months later, I've officially retired my pedal board and I'm still inspired every time I hear this amp sing.



Anyone else here using a Mustang?

For practice lang ba? I'm not sure if it would be loud enough for gigs. Kung may extra money ka, go for the III!

Mustang IV user po, story is bagong hire pa lang ako 3 years ago, naghahanap akong amp na malakas pero mura, for church use, nagsale sa Yupangco, 12 years to pay, dapat III lang kukunin ko kasi maliit pa sahod ko nun, pero kinagat ko yung IV para hindi bitin.

Up to now, sha parin amp ko, binenta ko na lahat ng pedal ko, straight na lang sa amp using Strat. Problem ko na lang pag sa ibang lugar tutugtog wala ako gear haha. Muntik ko na bilin mustang floor ni sir Guitarpraise niretract na pala haha.

Favorite presets: #14 -glassy lalo pag.strat gamit.
#78 - for natural driven sounds, minsan gain all the way up

Btw napansin ko lang, nung Strat ginamit ko mas naapreciate ko yung amp, pag humbuckers parang di lumalabas mashado yung Fender sound.

Gusto ko rin sanang mag-IV kaya lang na-realize ko na medyo mabigat na kaya nauwi ako sa III. Loud enough for gigs (may mic naman for bigger venues) pero kaya ko pa ring bitbitin anywhere along with two guitars.

Baka lang dahil single coil kasi talaga ang classic fender sound--or baka dapat lang ibang amp models for humbuckers? Naka-Fender Twin ako for my clean sound tapos British Colour (?) for my driven sound. I'm using a Squier Affinity Tele, by the way. I've yet to make any presets for my Fernandes Tele.

unfortunately binenta ko ung saken (Mustang II)... IMO, hindi ata multi-effects friendly ung mga Mustang.. or ung akin lang?? feeling ko sobrang tone-suck dahilan sa mix ng amp modelling galing sa amp plus ung effects galing sa multi.. 

pero balak ko bumili nung mustang III.... hingi ako reviews sa mga mustang 3/4 users? Any flaws?

nabalitaan niyo ung 'FIZZ' issue sa mga mustang series? kaya daw may lumabas na Ver.2.0 kasi ung mga naunang labas may 'fizz' sound, in my own ear-description: Tone-Suck..

Agree ako bro, imo di friendly sa effects kaya guitar straight to amp ako sa mustang. Sa Fizz issue naman, sabi sa reviews sa net chambahan daw sa unit, though inamin ng Fender na may issue nga. Buti yung akin wala kahit first version. Sabi naman nila lilitaw daw yung fizz over time, so far for 3 years wala naman sakin.

If you want a III, I suggest you go for it, but again no effects set up, straight to mustang lang if you can do that. I admit nakakamiss mag aapak sa board

I've not tried it with a keyboard amp yet. Natry ko na sa harap ng Marshall Valvestate saka sa powered speakers. Mas okay talaga kung sa speakers then PA yung setting ng output.

Pero nung Sunday bago magstart yung church service bigla bumigay yung power adaptor... which leads me to this question: Do you think okay lang na gumamit ako ng ibang PSU basta same ang power and voltage rating?? I emailed Yupangco and they told me na wala silang PSU replacement kasi di naman sila nagbebenta ng MF dito sa Pinas...

I emailed Yupangco and they told me na wala silang PSU replacement kasi di naman sila nagbebenta ng MF dito sa Pinas...

Yun lang, pero i think common case yung nasisira power supply ng effects halos parang disposable lahat ng build ng kahit anong brand. Di ako expert sa power supply pero tingin ko kung same rating, especially ng amperes then walang problema, sa akin lang yun, better ask yung mga expert 

Sayang nga wala si Yupangco ng MF, sabi din nila nung andun ako 3 weeks ago, di na daw sila maglalabas ng mustang amps, Champion amp series na ata ilalabas nila, di ko lang sure kung tama intindi ko. Kung totoo to, wag na dapat pakawalan mga mustang amps iretract na haha

Ah ganun din naman ang experience ko kahit sa ibang amp. Hindi ko masyadong gusto ang tunog ng humbuckers pag clean. Actually, single coil user talaga ako kahit for my drive sounds.

Ako, I don't miss my pedal board. I bought the 4-button footswitch so meron pa rin akong 6 buttons to step on. Plus hindi naman effects heavy ang songs namin. But if you really need effects, dapat naka-off ang amp models (and/or idaan sa effects loop if they're supposed to be after your drive sound).

Ay hindi sa amp. Haha, sorry. Sa multi, if ever gusto mong gumamit.

Hindi ko pa na-try yung aux in ng Mustang though. Gusto kong i-try kung gagana siya with electronic drums.

May konting learning curve lang talaga pero once makuha mo na, madali na siya.

Hindi ko alam ang exact price sa Yupangco pero sa naaalala ko, yung II malapit na ang presyo sa online price ng III. Baka better to buy second hand kung locally.

Madaming magandang clean sa mustang kaso nga lang sa single coil ko naexperience yung glassy talaga na clean (neck plus middle pickup)

Bought a Mustang I v.1 when it first came out a few years ago as a bedroom amp and i'm very satisfied with it. a few weeks ago i bought a Mustang IV v.2 for gigs as my Marshall JCM800 combo + pedals is just getting too heavy for me.
After 2 gigs, i'm so impressed and satisfied with the Mustang IV i sold the Marshall. the mustang is so much more versatile and sounds great, not as good as a cranked tube amp but close enough for me. and the plus side is it can sound great at any volume.
i'm also surprised that it has plenty of bass for an open back amp and plenty of volume too(i only got it to 4 which is plenty loud already). it also has XLR outputs so no need for mics. currently, my only pedal is a wah pedal plus the 2 and 4 button footswitches. my only complaint is the mustang is not rugged and can be easily damaged specially the LCD screen.
but for the price, its well worth it.

Naka mustangII v1 ako since 2012, at nagka dalawang major issue na siya.

first is ung mainboard nya daw nasira sabi ni yupangco so pinalitan nila. it cost me 8000 para lang sa mainboard na yun. (mga 1 week after ma expire ung warranty nung nangyari ito)

nasa dulo netong vid ung nangyayari bago mapalitan ung mainboard

then next na naging issue is power supply. bigla na lang ayaw mag power on kinabukasan after ko gamitin muli pagkatapos ng ilang buwan na nakaistambay sa kwarto ung amp.

kay mang raul nako dumeretso at ginawan nya ng power supply yung amp ko sa halagang 2000.


hayun konti na lang kapresyo na ng bagong mustang II ung lahat ng nagastos ko.

Ouch. Pero ang alam ko inamin ng Fender na faulty talaga ang power supply ng V1 amps. Talagang may problem sa build kaya nga nung lumabas yung V2, ang daming nag-trade up.
