Funny thing coz it is a Gibson Les Paul that looks and feels like a PRS haha. AAA top, Indian rosewood fingerboard, 2-piece mahogany back, unbound body neck and headstock. It plays like a PRS too. I just find it a bit weird haha.

Nice batchmates! 08' din to hehe. I love how it's acoustically louder and resonant vs the other types of weight relief.

Congrats!

Personally I am a pro pickguard for LPs but this seems to be an exception. I reckon that's a Premium Plus? Man these are built to be show offs. Maraming Premium Plus na hindi na binutasan un top for pickguard mounting, but came with with the guard anyway.

Yes sir it's a PP. 08' but still smells like vanilla/cake/cornbread from the nitrocellulose hehe. Yup correct walang wormholes for the pickguard. Would be a shame to cover the flames too I guess. Gusto ko pa naman mag pickguard and Bigsby but it's gonna cover too much real estate hehe.

Would you know the pricepoint of these Studio PPs vs other Studios and vs Standards? Are they priced closer to Standards? I've been looking at closed Reverb.com and Ebay sales and the most expensive example I found sold for USD 1600 but I I still dont know how much the SRP was in 2008.

I'm not sure on exact pricin, but I used to own a LPCPP, and within that model range, PP's supposed to be the highest end ones, more expensive with the Classic and Classic Plus in tow.

They maybe within the pricepoint of standard plaintops, close perhaps.

I say more than $500 price difference between a PP and a Plus, and must've been greater between a PP and the normal studio. These crazy flames on PP pop more due to double staining. But granting yours is au naturale, that top just priceless.

I've heard that double-staining can limit the "movement" of flames so it looks like I've got a real keeper here! Yahoo!

I think I have read somewhere that Gibson ceased double staining in 1999 on everything except their reissues so hopefully this is indeed not an enhanced top.

Hi guys!

Ok ba yung Epiphone Gothic Les Paul Studio? Or should I get a way better guitar? I'm used to the tone of my Ibanez RG fixed bridge and I want to try shorter scaled guitars for a change.

I'm a sucker for all-black guitars and I'm a huge James Hetfield fan. I was about to get the Explorer version pero ang hirap maghanap ng case for it, and I heard that LPs in general have better sustain than Exps.

Thanks!

ermonski.

My friend owns a gothic Epi LP. According to him, nothing special features with the guitar. Same old epi studio with a matte black finish.  :-D

He upgraded it to EMG's for more metal look and sound.

You may try visiting cresendo if you have time. The feel of the guitar cannot simply explain in words e. Theres something in it na maaring ayaw mo. Build quality okay. Hardwares too. Not sure sa electronics.
