differences? :?
-

will the 20" be suitable for rock and metal?

P.O.D used 20" Kick sa Tour nila back 2003.
I'm a 20 incher Sucker! I got 2 kits na 20" kick!

If it's well miked and tuned properly, it could be used for rock and metal. You can get a boomy or punchy sound depending on how you tune it. Although a 22" drum is more appropriate for rock and metal.

yup, pwede naman... David Silveria of Korn (not sure if he came back from his hiatus already) uses a 20" kick...
But I agree with wipeout...mas bagay yung 22" sa music mo.
Ito yung spectrum ng application (IMO)
20" - From light jazz to rock / metal
22" - From jazz to Heavy metal

Bakit mas gusto mo ang 20"?
-
22 gusto ko kasi mas DEEP ang makukuha mong tone and it CLEARLY separates the KICK hits from the TOM hits.
It really boils down on what music you're playing.
(24 kick is TOO DEEP for me! :-D)

just curious about this guys, ano kaya tunog nang bagong signiture kit ni Neil Peart? It has his own customed 23" bass drum... :-)

Just got back for the subway and some Japanese guy is playing drums at the sanomiya station here in Kobe. Anyways, his set is MAPEX 20 inches kick and a picolo and men it really blended well.

(Pero 22" parin ako men!) hehehe

:-D 22" period.
-
-
shell diameter normally affects pitch. depth affects volume. shell material and construction also affects a lot of things.
A 20" acrylic will most likely be louder than a 20" wood (assuming the same depth) but the acrylic will be a bit brighter.
Kung same wood, same depth, same heads (and head tensions), and same shell material, the 22" will most likely have a lower pitch compared to the 20".
Kung different wood, same heads (and tensions) and same depth, depende sa wood and shell material (I believe a 20" saturn or bubinga will have a fundamentally lower pitch than a 22" birch).
Maraming factors. I think the best way to tell the difference is to try them ;-)
-
try and try until you die hehe joke..
try and try and tell us hehe..
but i'll go for wood
-
