i know someone who teaches talaga. pero i don't know if he's willing to go to alabang. he's from QC kasi eh. pero i'll ask him, tapos kung ok naman sha, i'll give you his contact. sa yamaha kasi medyo basic ata eh.

suggestion ko eh sipra/cipra-hin mo nalang yung song... in the common word, kapa-in mo nalang.

techniques sa pag-sipra/kapa. 1st, make sure your guitar is tuned to standard tuning. then kapa-in mo muna yung bass line. kasi yun yung rhythm eh. tapos from the bass line, convert mo na to chords. at least get the rhythm part of the song first para at least nape-play mo na yung song kahit wala pa yung lead parts. then it'll be easier to put in the "palabok" after. good luck!

hoy! talaga to oh! haha.. ako na lang magtuturo, ahem... ano ba email add mo? sendan kita ng tabs,, nyehehe..

i agree with kulas, hehe, kaso ndi yun advisable for beginners kasi you will be needing good ears talaga, anyway, good resource ang tao na pwede magturo sayo, pero kung isang kanta lang naman ang gusto mo matutunan.. nyah!!  magtabs ka na lang...

hi diane57! magandang practice yung pagkapa-kapa. it makes your ear more sensitive to recognizing notes. with enough practice magiging oido/owido (ewan ko spelling but it's pronounced oh-weed-ow, hehe) player ka, meaning, you can play by ear, hehe.

isa pang tip, you sing diba? if you sing therefore hindi ka tone-deaf, that's a good thing. eto, try to memorize one note. for example, the A note. by memorize i mean yung you can recognize an A note or chord as you hear it. then pag memorize mo na yun note na yun, it would be easier to recognize other notes in the future kasi you can make your memorized A note as basis for recognizing the notes. gets? example the note is lower than the A note, so most probably G, F, E yan, if it's higher, malamang B, C, D yun. something like that.

pero shempre ang pag-sipra/cipra takes a lot of patience to do so yun, goodluck nalang sa pag-kapa mo ng songs!

petrucci lagot ka...nyak!

haha! kulas +1

i started that sipra thing when i was playing guitar for already two years, the first thing i did was drive by incubus, i got the basic chords but the movable bass. and yun naman pala eh kumakanta ka, your ears are probably good in recognizing notes, heres one thing, when finding a chord, youd find it difficult to recognize one if you have problems with basic chord structuring, in a song when you find a G bass note for example, it may be a G chord lang talaga, which has G B and D, the problem lang is when its a suspended or it has notes ranging from the flat 7th to 13th, you will need to have good ears and knowledge about the basic chords to find that out, so before getting into that stage of music playing, learn the basics, find a teacher, a good teacher.

 did i say something bastos? im just here to help on what song to make kapa. no offense also to you ...sometimes, dirty words comes only in dirty minds. if you think na bastos word yun, wala akong magagawa. (kahit ikaw ginamit mo ung word na "kapa"). peace!

Diane57,
Seriously try the Yamaha school - I knew a few people that took classical guitar lessons from there, and although you mentioned wanting to learn contemporary songs, learning the theory behind playing guitar will allow you to branch off more and play better - faster.

ok lang yan. let's not use the word "kapa" nalang. let's use the more "technical" term "sipra" para hindi maging naughty, hehe.

anyway, balitaan mo nalang kami diane57 sa pag-sipra mo nung song. is "tattoo" by urbandub different from "my new tattoo" by the same band?

i agree, kailangan talaga yung fundamentals eh. parang math yan eh, hehe. if you don't know the fundamentals, you'll have a hard time learning the more complex stuff, ganon yung nangyari sakin eh, hehe.

no...i studied piano somewhere else but when I started getting interested in guitar, I knew some people that were taking Yamaha lessons. At the time, there were big sa Suzuki method of teaching which is very good. They taught me some of the fundamentals behind their approach and it helped me develop my pitch recognition that I still use to write songs and figure songs out to this day.

ok nice one sir kulas dont use the word "kapa" para sa mga ganitong klaseng thread, sori kung namis-interpret ko kayo. I hope that Diane57 can now get a good teacher dito para sumipra sa mga songs.   tabs from internet is one great way of copying the songs, lalo na kung beginner (because hindi pa fully develop ung ears & skills) but not all printed tabs from internet is 100% accurate. so need good ears pa rin...
