Meron na akong copy nito! Ultimate pah! Ram eater? I totally disagree, mas mabilis siya kesa sa vista. Yung graphics niya mala-vista at yung performance niya ay kagaya ng sa xp. Itry nyo din, pero nung natry ko ito, napa-WOW ako sa performance. Hanep talaga. 8-)

I have installed Windows 7 Home premium on my laptop and netbook. and I must say it's pretty fast and eats up less RAM than Vista.

Sana nga lang gumana yung mga existing audio-hardware drivers and other music softwares sa Windows 7 ...kasi kung hindi and it would mean buying another DAW rig or recording/music PC then stick muna ako sa XP until my PC components give up on me :|

for the hardware if it worked well on XP it should work on Win7. I'm not so sure about the programs though. Good luck Bro.

Windows 7 ang mas ok dahil kahit mababa lang ang memory ng computer ok pa din halos parehas lang ng space ng Windows XP ang pag install at very light, ang Windows VISTA Malaking space ang hinihingi at kailangan mataas ang processor at memory and hardisk space sa madaling sabi ibabasura na ang Windows Vista dahil sakit ng ulo simula sa home edition hanggang sa ultimate edition conflict pa sa ibang programs. at kung sa application may mas magandang gamitin instead Office 2007 mas ok ang MS Office 2010 na na i release na sa market. actually ginamit ko na ang win 7 ok talaga.
Pero heto O.S ko gamit ngayon Win Server 2008 hehehehe..

regarding Windows 7, nakaka-recognize siya ng Vista drivers...
bumili kasi ako ng US modem sa CD-R king, pero sabi ng tindero hindi daw pwede sa Windows 7...
sa itsura pa lang ni manong tindero, duda na ako sa kaalaman nya eh,
so nilabas ko yung dala kong laptop na naka-Win 7... install driver for Vista 64 bit, tas salpak nung US modem. ayun, gumana.

pansin ko rin maraming XP-oriented applicatons ay gumagana pa rin sa 7. kadalasan installed sa C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder.
mamaya try ko naman mag-download ng Windows Virtual PC, at patakbuhin yung XP Mode. buti na lang Ultimate yung Win 7 ko. :)

Sa mga PC geeks jan, may nasagap lang ako na information na sinasabi ang Windows 7 daw is same as Vista lang. (with a little upgrade) Pinalitan lang ang name and did some improvements. If anyone can confirm this, lilibre kong siomai. :-D

I do not have the reference but since I installed it on my laptop and currently using it right now, I have no complaints regarding its performance. Try mo sir.

If RAM is an issue to you, then go back to those primitive 386's and use WordStar... :)
These are the good times, and people should fully embrace the 64-bit architecture and explore its capabilities.
Anyway, according to one of those Windows benchmark tests (http://"http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/information/windows-xp-vs-vista-vs-7/") that scattered around the net -- compared to Vista, Windows 7 seems to be the better OS under these categories (also take note on how close Win 7 performs against XP):

i agree to this, i installed windows 7 sa acer 4736z na laptop ko and gues what sa Xp na driver ko napagana yung webcam.. :-D

Installed Win7 last night so far so good...loving the "Gadgets", ngayon meron nang Widgets and PC ko, lagi ko nami-miss yun kapag hindi ako naka mac eh, plus factor din for me yung shake function!;)

nka-install na 'to sa PC ko nung August pa.. wala naman akong na-eencounter na problems.. The only issue for me is yung pag-install ng drivers.. sinasabi nya na hindi daw same version kaya hindi nya macomplete yung process.. sayang naman yung VC ko hindi ko din magamit.. i'll try to download the latest drivers ng NVIDIA.. sana naman gumana na sya!!

windows seven na ako.. bilis hehe, kaya lang nung nag-reformat ako p at nag partition mejo nagkaroon ng parang graphics error dun habang nagloload ng username.. pero bukod dun ok naman.. bakit kaya?

It's a limitation of Windows 7 Starter Ed. You can't change its wallpaper.

Reduced Memory Footprint sa WIN7
One of the big goals for changes in DWM is to reduce the memory usage. When 2d applications are drawn to the desktop they are drawn through a system component called GDI, which is the case for both Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Sa Windows XP, When drawing to the desktop the window for the 2D application (such as notepad or Microsoft Word), it first gets drawn to GDI, which would create an image of that window in system memory (RAM). GDI would then draw the window directly to the screen since it was responsible for drawing the desktop.
With Windows Vista a new display model was introduced where the work of compositing the desktop was handled by another system component called the DWM, or Desktop Window Manager. DWM used the 3D hardware of the video card to draw the desktop so that this work could be done by dedicated hardware that was more suited to drawing images, and enabled effects like transparency, video thumbnails, and Flip3D
In Windows Vista GDI is still in place, but instead of GDI writing directly to the screen, it would pass the copy the image of the application window to the DWM which stored that copy in video memory so that it could be drawn to the screen. The problem here is that we are now maintaining two copies of each window image; one in system memory and one in video memory, and this resulted in excessive system memory usage.
Ngyun with Windows 7, the new version of the DWM no longer needs the copy of the window image stored in system memory. The window image is only stored in video memory, freeing the system memory for use by other applications.
WDDM 1.1 drivers will be required in order to realize these benefits. Using WDDM 1.0 drivers will retain the old Windows Vista behavior.kaya dapat no problem if you're currently with vista,sabi nga nila samin eh vista is just an unfinished windows 7
