i've always used a non-pro model of saxophones ever since and i'm very interested in getting a pro horn. can anybody tell me the difference in playability between a student and a pro model. thanks. 8-)

I've heard that Sonny Rollins sounds great on a Bundy  :wink:

In terms of playability, I think we can overcome it thru practice on any horn even if it's a vintage, modern, student horn. . .etc.  It's the tone that we desired on a pro horn. 

I previously owned a YAS32 which showed great ease of playing.  In terms of playbility/ergonomics, Yamaha got my vote.  However,  I love the tone of my conn  :wink:  Sold my Yamaha and the conn stayed with me.  Medyo matalas sa tenga ko yung yamaha.

tumpak! ako din eh sax ko dti yas-23 and bundy 2 latest ko yas475.. na try ko ung buescher aristocrat dko na iniwan sa tenor din mas gmit ko ung elkhart ko na parang kinakapitan na ng talaba kesa dun sa mkintab ko na yts475...

ako din gus2 ko yan yas-62 kya lang mukang mbgat sa bulsa ah...  :mrgreen:

guys, thanks for the reply. tama nga. tingin ko the sound would be the big difference ng pro and non-pro. I'm using a vintage elkhart right now and an armstrong altos. pansin ko iba nga ang tunog nung vintage ko (maybe its because of the metal).

Parang gusto ko na din kasi makagamit ng pro horn pero that's right medyo mabigat nga siya sa bulsa. ipon muna. hehe

Next Q: how would you compare the sound of the legendary selmer MKVI to a selmer super action alto? Malayo ba masyado? thanks! :?

hehe nice gnda 2nog ng elkhart yung elkhart ko tenor parang lata ang metal ang gaang na gnda pa 2nog... lalo na nung nagpalit me ng mthpice lagyan ko sya ng larsen na 100/2 aus ang 2nog bilog na bilog.. den yanagisawa metal aus na sarap ng 2nog... mas gus2 ko 2nog ng elkhat kesa yamaha 475 ko..  :mrgreen:
