I just wanna know kung kailan kayo nagstart drums
katulad ng kung what year or year old

i started playing 2004 but had formal lessons by 2006. Then i joined bands right away.. until now!

i started drumming since september of 2006.
self taught, no formal lessons (haha).
just knowing the proper basics, have my sticks, my pad and my metronome.

I'm a newbie.  Just started January 20, 2009 to be exact with Yamaha DD-65.  Then, upgraded to Roland HD-1, and ended up trading it to Roland TD-9K last Monday only.  I'm looking for a electronic drum instructor actually.

I started having lessons nung 2006. then i had four bands na. tatlo buhay pa hngang ngayon. hehe.

Learned to play the drums when I was in grade school, late 80's. Started playing drums in the early 90's when I had my own kit. No formal lessons. Just listening to music. You know how it's hard to study music using the cassette tapes. :-D
Drumming stopped when I was in college. Med school came.... During internship, fellow doctors and I formed an acoustic band for some time where I used the cajon, playing in bars during our offshifts. Shifting to cajon was difficult and I had no idea how to use it at first. For now, no drumming. Just practicing rudiments though and listening to music and a hobby, restoring my old kit. :-) Cheers :mrgreen:

If my memory serves me right...
Been drumming since Grade 5 at my friends house
I was 10 years old at the time
That was 1993..

I only knew the basics back then
And I only started progressing since 2004 that was when I started to watch those monster drummers and learn from their old videos and stuff and since then my way of thinking and playing has changed.
