First question is - ano ba ang .net framework?
You can look at it this way..

DOS sits on BIOS
Windows sits on DOS
.NET sits on Windows

yung question mu sa software eh tama ang sagot mu na VS.net

start ka by installing a version of VS.net with the framework na gagamitin mo... 1.1, 2.0, 3.0,3.5 next would probably be san mo gusto magfocus, vb or C#, net or desktop...then go from there.

newbie .net programmer here. but i have my own system. vb po ako. pero i think focus ka ng c# for me lang po ha. cause i think c# is more powerful than vb. sa vb kasi user friendly lang sya kapag nag dedevelop. tska parang fully software development lang sya. yung kasama ko dito sa office c# programmer. hehe kakatuwa kasi daming animation sa c# na di nagagawa sa vb. just want to share it lang broe. mag shift na din ako ng c# after matapos ko yung pending kong trabaho. goodluck broe...

chat tayo minsan para share of knowledge diba? heheh

You're definitely bound to C#.

Or Maybe even try Java. There's a great demand for Java programmers lately.

sa ngayon sir, i think focus muna ko c# after this last system. kasi yung enterprise na dedevelop nmin kelangan c# ang language. anyway baka may tips naman po kayo jan sir about c#. hehehe..

kung beginner ka, it doesnt matter kung vb o c# piliin mo. they both do the same thing and they can be both used in your multi-project solutions

pero i highly recommend you to take c# over vb. i also highly recommend this book:

http://www.informit.com/library/library.aspx?b=STY_Csharp_24hours

lahat ng basics nandyan pati paggamit ng vs.net. its a really good foundation.

then focus on a specific area...web forms ka ba o windows forms? back in 2001 lahat halos ng projects ko nagshift from vb6 desktop apps to web forms pero for the past 3 years wala na ko web forms, balik windows forms lahat ng apps. c# din ang hanap ng karamihan ng mga companies.

learn your sql! c# and sql server always go hand in hand sa trabaho.

@jhaystrat - bulacan sir ako. now working in US based company here in bulacan also. actually may demands pa rin sa .net developers pero due to global financial crisis. some or most of the company migrating now to open source like php/msql which is free, php is closely similar to c# when it comes to syntax. try mo rin malay mo ma enjoy mo. wala nga lang intellisense like in .net. or gamit ka dreamweaver but limited pa rin.

Post by: jhaystrat on October 13, 2009, 11:14:11 AM
actually na try ko mag php pero mejo naguluhan lang ako sa syntax since di pa nga ako nakakapag web. nawalan nako time mag self study kasi super toxic sa work ngaun. thanks for the advise :)

ill be having my first .net project this january... katakot! will be integrated to sap hope everything works well..

@Uber_daniel - how about trying to apply in companies that offers training? my bond nga lang haha
Title: Re: .NET Technology
Post by: Uber_daniel on January 20, 2010, 10:59:04 AM
^^ ano po ba sir ang disadvantage ng bond? tsaka san ba sir nakakakita ng mga company na ganyan? hehe..
in the meantime sa bahay muna ako magpapraktis mahirap din ung napagiiwanan ka eh.  :-D
Title: Re: .NET Technology
Post by: jhaystrat on January 20, 2010, 12:40:30 PM
mejo depende bro eh. may mga companies na kahit bonded ka di ganun ka pressure.. pero i think RARE un. haha pero with bond or wala man kahit san naman kasi pressured. ang advantage ng bond? sympre may kapalit na training. and ung training may katumbas na project, so mahahasa ka talaga, maigi start early kasi ako im 25 na ngaun lang ako nababatak sa software engineering, kaya kung trip mo talaga mag program as early as now try applying na kung graduate na ikaw :)
Title: Re: .NET Technology
Post by: Uber_daniel on January 20, 2010, 01:05:09 PM
^^ makahanap nga ng ganyang company.
OT sir may nakapagsabi skin totoo ba na mahirap na daw makapasok sa ganyang company pag 25 kana eh mag25 na ako eh.
sana makahabol pa ako haha..  :-D
