Title: CUSTOM GUITAR> how much?
Post by: soundburstrat on March 26, 2006, 04:05:49 PM
magkano kaya ang price range ng isang custom guitar kay sir arie? (syempre dipende) for example, isang complete replica ng typical RG na HSH, FLOYDROSE trem, Basswood body, bolt on neck(maple), rosewood fboard, 24 jumbo frets, dot inlays, gotoh tuners, black paint finish, with a set of dimarzio pick ups. no decal. (syempre dipende parin)
pero magkano sa tingin nyo? salamat

I didn't know Arie did any custom works. Nevertheless, it would be best that you ask him yourself.

sir why not buy an rg? i think it would be less expensive. or bilin niyo ung binebentang rg 470 body + the edge trem sa buy and sell section. lagyan niyo nalang ng neck pups and hardware ayos na.

pero if money is not a problem pa jcustom ka nalang sa ibanez custom shop.

I think Arie DOES make custom guitars...
There's a picture of a custom acoustic bass (with the owner) on the site.
But there are pics of a guitar that looks a bit close to an RG (reverse headstock nga lang)...flamed neck pa.

Pero tama si fingertapper1...the best kung sa Ibanez Custom Shop.
Nothing beats the original.  :D

Well I don't know if "flamed" would be the exact term for that design

http://www.guitarhospital.net/custom-002.htm
That's the link...It has this flame-like pattern on the neck, but it seems to be "bookmatched" in three's...It's a bit hard to explain, but I find it beautiful.

*And it has a scale of 27 inches. Laking tao siguro ng owner...

with those specs, it might be easier, faster and cheaper to just get an actual Ibanez RG and customize it, rather than start from scratch.

it's figured maple (flame maple to be more specific). and it's not bookmatched. that's usually done to a body to get a symmetrical wood figure design.

and it's a baritone guitar with an ESP style headstock. the player's size has nothing to do with playing it.

Or you can ask the friend of this forum, "OASGOMEZ". He mentioned his name alot in his previous posts, so, I figure he knows the man well. He might be able to give you a ballpark figure.

the ibanez RG replica is just an example(para specific)..

Meron naba dito na nagpacustomize ng guitar out of scratch? yung tipong wala kang ibang dala kundi pera. at ayaw mo bumili. gusto mo custom lahat.

Hindi naman siguro.  Around 1.5-2 inches na dagdag sa scale wala masyadong difference sa size.  Pero sa tone...

Sabi ni Sir Al baritone guitar daw yun, so, correct me if I'm wrong:
A baritone guitar has a deeper "voice" or tone?  :?:
(I'm thinking about the choir terms, so dun galing yung idea, hehehe)

*Because of that figured maple neck I saw at Arie's site, now I want a PRS Santana III with figured maple neck!

yes. a baritone is usually tuned B to B, which is lower than the E to E tuning on a standard guitar. It also uses heavier strings, ergo, it functions like a 7-string, albeit with a longer neck and no extra string. Listen to anything from Staind to get an idea of what a baritone sounds like.

May finish na siya pero what I told Jun was a flat wood finish. So I guess additional cost sa finish depende sa paint.

ah, i see. yeah, a lacquer finish would make it more expensive.

I'm a fan of wood finished guitars kasi. I used to have a wood finished tele pinasadya ko sa RJ way back 1992 pa yata yun.

one day, i'd like to have a netural or oil finished guitar as well. pero stylized. there's a stall at Megamall that etches graphics on wood (not sure kung laser or by burning). that opens up quite a few possibilities.

magkano ba ang difference ng paintjob for guitars with natural/wood/oil finish against those with colors?  :?:

difficult to tell off the bat. pero in terms of difficulty... things like tung oil or french polish are much easier and faster to apply and errr.... finish.

Sa mga automotive pait red are the most expensive and those with mica tones.
