Title: hello kitty guitar a novelty or a worthy purchase?

Hi guys Im considering saving up for a hello kitty guitar squire. Because I find it cute, but tested it, it sucks at clean tone. but with effects on, can be considered although nothing much change about sound because only volume knob is present.
will you buy a hello kitty guitar? or just save it for a better guitar? or perhaps other guitars like ibanez etc..
do you use hello kitty guitar?

if you want the design because it's cute, you can get a guitar with a sound more to your liking, then have it repainted. at least yon, you can have the best of both things.

For 10k standard price, and without amp? And I heard it hardly stays in tune because of the bridge.. Nah, not worth it.

definitely a collector's forkeeps....hang sa room, or nakadisplay with stand sa music room mo, pang practice at home na din..pwedeng-pwede di ba... :-D you said it yourself, cute kasi hehehe...kapag ako binigyan ng ganyan talagang forkeeps sa akin yan...pwede ring pangback-up guitar mo sa gig sa isang kanta...pwede sigurong pang harana din naman.... :-D

well,judging by the original post, "sucks at clean tone" thats a big let down for me. Distortion/Overdrive cant mask a crappy guitar. Waste of money imho.

haha thanks guys, lot of varied comments :) I was hoping if the pick up can be replaced but it might ruin kittys face :-D so stock PUps is an option

In the Philippines, I saw pedicab's j.sonic used this a long time ago even before the eheads farwell concert has started :)

i played it in GC about 1 or 2 years ago. the pickups need changing, frets polished, bridge setup'd right..its fun to play same with Ibby Micro, if you're bored

probably no, its a guitar if you want to mod and as a quirky guitar to play with for whatever reason..same with playing an ibanez micro..

eh probably gusto mo lang yang guitar na yan dahil cute. pero di cya versatile tignan palang. tonewise. anyway it's your call. ikaw lang makakapag sabi kung sulit nga or hindi bumili nang kitty strat. pero if i have the money to spare.. why not? para may kakaiba naan akong guitar besides metal pointy guitars , LPs and rg types.

hello kitty guitar is cool yet a lot of disadvantages, tone wise etc...also cool if you have extra money to burn if not one should buy effects instead or other guitars
also at a music store, Ive inquired about the hello kitty strap, the sales men said "ayaw niyo ba sir ng itim na sanrio character?" :-D
OT: just sharing 3 weeks ago Ive placed a hello kitty wall paper on my desktop and the guys and gals at the office asked me if I am gay, because they were surprised why I removed the kurt cobain wall paper and placed hello kitty instead...

tama ka dyan bro! pang-tunay na lalaki ang hello kitty. it's for the boys that are sure with their personality. yung ibang may itinatago, sila mismo ang mahihiyang gumamit nito kasi deep inside iniisip nila, mabubuking sila dahil guilty he he. upgrade lang ng pickup to and I think it's a good backup guitar. hello kitty rocks!

another reason for buying is if youre a girl and you play in a band that covers hannah montana and paramore songs...
though i would not spend money to have one customized.. thats for sure..

I have read it somewhere, carmen electra, the wife/ex-wife of dave navarro gave a hello kitty guitar to dave, and played it once on stage.. but I cant find pics anywhere

oo nga tama pero di mo rin maalis mga iniisip ng mga tao minsan..
dito sa office naglagay ako ng hello kitty wallpaper sa pc ko pati hello kitty screen saver.. napagtripan ko kasi.. tapos tinatanong nila ako kung b@ding daw ba ako o hindi..nanibago daw sila sa akin bakit ako naglagay ng hello kitty.
sa music store naman sa perfect pitch noong nagtesting ako ng hello kitty sabi sa akin "pangbata po yan sir..eto na lang po subukan niyo american strat" "kung gusto niyo sanrio mayroon tayong itim"
kung walang mukha ni hello kitty yung gitara bebenta kaya yun?

dude buy it if it feels great and its what you want, thats how i would do it, our opinions when it comes to buying doesnt really matter that much since you're paying for it :-)
i really like the PRS Prism even though my friends here think its gay (the color represent gay pride BTW), but i think it looks tropical so im still going to pursue a custom guitar w/ that color :-),
consider changing the pickup though :-)

I dunno about you guys but for 12k or 13k pwedeng pwede na to for metal! Check out his other videos madalas nyang gamit yung hello kitty guitar for shredding. If makakaipon ako i'm definitely getting it I'm a girl anyway.
