Title: Help: Identifying my Stratocaster
Post by: manilacoke3 on July 01, 2009, 11:08:25 PM
Hello,

I'm having some difficulty identifying my stratocaster. I got this all stock from an old friend and he says its a '93 American Standard. Below are some specs.

Made in the USA.
Serial No. N3xxxxxx (It's already given that its a '93 model)
22 frets.
Maple neck with a stripe on the back.
Vintage Tremolo System. 6 Screws. 6 Bent Saddles.
Stamped Tuners.
2 Roller String trees.

As far as my research says, 93 American Standards have those powder coated larger massed saddles, same as the "American Series" nowadays. What confuses me is the point that mine has the Vintage Tremolo System, and the roller trees. I don't think my Strat is a "Strat Plus" either coz I don't have a roller nut.

Any help guys?

I think that's a partscaster, could be an am std neck with a jap or mexican body or non fender body, or a 93 american standard converted to vintage trem.

Could be a conversion from the 2 point trem to a vintage bridge. Check the mounting holes.

Cheers and Beers!

I've never heard of american traditionals. If you're talking about American Vintage, mine isn't one coz the serial doesn't start with "V" and Vintage strats have only 21 frets. I'll post pics later after work.

Thanks for the info. Is there a way that I can find its manufacture details on the body alone?

I think what he meant with 2 roller string trees is this

@manilacoke3
well, you can check the neck pocket for stamps or whatever. I think early 90's am std's have the micro-tilt adjustment already so there should be some sort of a screw or a huge round metal thing on the neck pocket, although I am not sure.
and as Gibson78 said, check the mounting holes on the bridge.
