so ano mas maganda/matibay?

A or AA is not what ur looking for. they are bright cymbals. sabian AA is cheaper than zildjian A quality = the same. cant go wrong wit em.
for dark, get HH,HHX,K,Kcustom.
or
AAX dark, A customs.
go to yer local store bring ur stick and start banging cymbals.then choose.

tamang tama si sir eni. pagisipan mo na lang kung mag sabian ka o zildjian. pero kahit ano sa dalawa wala kang talo men! mas na inlove lang talaga ako sa sabian. depende sa drummer yan

that's what zildjian said,that a's are brighter sounding than k's, k custom etc. but i have an a thin crash which sounds darker than my k custom dark crash. both are size 18,for me you really have to hear it personally :wink:

Para darker ang cymbal mo, dapat bigger, thinner, at randomly hammered.
So para sa crashes, ang pinaka-extreme na dark e 19" K Thin Dark Crash at 19" K Custom Dark Crash. Sila rin ang may matagal na sustain dahil sa size.
Kung A ang habol mo, pero dark, 18" Thin Crash o bigger.

i agree with gep sa bigger and thinner,obviously bigger and thinner means lower pitch. pero parang duda ko sa random hammering nbasa ko ksa sa ibang forum marketing ploy lang daw ng zildjian un. not sure though. chek nyo ung cymbalholic.com ska groovologist.com may mga marunong mag hammer ng cymbals. and i beliv they know wat they are talking about. meron dun zbt ata un kayang gawing 2nog K! sana meron din d2 marunong mag hand hammer

zbt lacks body (beefy sound), and sheet cymbals un. kahit na gawin mong thin.mabibitin ka lng. good for jazz though IMO
gep is correct. random hammering = darker and full bodied. symmetrical hammering = even blend of overtones,execelent projection quality,brighter.

thanx bros... but w/c has a darker sound? AA or A's? ung same size and thickness... Ive read the paiste handbook and it cover everything u need to know about how the cymbal sound works... galing na booklet yun!
the thing is i havent compared AA's & A's side by side, eh mahal ang K's eh so A's lang or AA's...
may brilliant bang AA's?

hmm.. neither are dark. they're not too bright but they're still on the bright side of teh spectrum.
Di pa ako nakakarinig ng AA kaya I cannot comment on those. Meron akong A crash and its very bright compared to my K crash.

vinoyarey- panalo ung link! misleading tlaga ang zildjian,ung iba ksi mabasa lng sa magazine ng ziljian na random hammerring=etc nani2wala agad. prand dti ung first gen ng k cons hand hammered daw and sounds like old ks to justify their high prices! we all know its not hand hammered and i hav one,it doesnt comes close to the sound of old ks! ska ung k custom ride dba wlang lathing un top and bottom? eh bket ang mahal? dpat ka presyo lng ng avedis un! un lng nman ang mga tnong sking isipan. hehe!
ciro-meron ako A thin crash,it sounds dark for me. and alam ko sa sabian pwede ka mamili kung brilliant o traditional finish. at saka wlang 19 na k custom dark crash sa pagkakaalam ko

B8 pro vs ZHT vs Sabian XS or any other sets around 20k you may suggest.
Mga Sir, which ones the best overall? price,sound,durability. also a set that fits in with a lot of musical styles.
im not much of a drum guru, and im planning to get a new set for my studio. it will also be used for recording sometimes.
i'd get the Sabian Paragon set with flight case if a had the money, but finances are tight. :lol:

XS definitely,b8 and zht are sheet cymbals(beginer sets) i suggest buy cymbals individually.

durability? wtf is that.lol ok durability,depends sa technique mo.gets?

complete set of paragons? aabutin ka ng 115000 pesos meron aq paragon. pero ride lang buwahhaha.lol

In my opinion, Sabian makes the best entry-level cymbals.
Paiste could be a close second. Paistes are Euro-style cymbals, so they most likely know better their way around sheet-style cymbals.
Zildjian makes excellent cast cymbals. But their entry-level sheet bronze cymbals are not so nice. I recently tried the ZBTs; it doesn't feel great & there's so much lack of cut and body in its sound.

@ eni: durability? it wouldnt be a problem kung ako lang gagamit, its a rehearsal/recording studio...its really not a problem kung beginer cymbals, as i said finances is a big factor. im keeping it at around 20k for the set. so customs and the like are out of the question. di naman kailangan sobra ganda ng tunog. kelangan ko lang ng decent na set to start out recording with...its not going to be a 700/hr full blown recording studio naman eh.
@ Omnicloud: sa mga tiningnan ko sa web yung XS20s seem to be a good choice. di ko pa na try ang ZHTs, but ill take your word...
@ Drumster: yeah, i was thinking about paiste, kaso lagi wala stocks sa audiophile. i had a pair of 402 hihats and they sound quite well. matibay din naman...you know where i can get 502s? ok ba sila??

kala ko ur "own" studio. papagamit mo pala,aba eh kung ako chunks of metal papagamit ko sa kanila hahahah joke. ok, u gave me specific details.
definitely,what the guy said earlier, sabian makes good beginer cymbals, like b8s,16k w/ free 18" crash, tapos paiste pst5 around 15k ata. wag ka sa zildjian overrated un.pangit pa.

mga sirs help naman po me b8pro ako na 2yrs. ko ng ginagamit sa studio, yung frend ko me 2months old na zxt na hindi masyado nagagamit, gusto nya iswap yung zxt nya sa b8pro ko,sa tingin nyo alin kaya ang mas tatagal sa studio? yung b8pro na 2yrs. ng ginagamit sa studio o yung zxt na almost new? mas makapal pala yung b8pro kesa sa zxt saka mas malakas ang tunog, help naman po salamat

i dunno if i'm correct pero sa tingin ko ang magaganda sa zildjian yung mga classic series like the k's a's z's and avedis'es depende kasi sa trip mong tunog. sabian and paiste cymbals are great pero syempre nga depende talaga sa tunog na gusto mo...

isipin mo nalang...2 mos plang ang zxt nya pero willing na sya itrade sa 2yrs na b8pro mo... at sya pa ang nag-propose ng swap!
malamang lang na di sya satisfied sa fresh zxt nya.

hi there, jp here from the sabian dept. yes man the xs20's are cast cymbals but this are lower priced compared to the much higher models aax and hhx, we still have the xs20's that comes with a free crash and this are limited edition only for their 25th anniv.,.cheers..

I like the b8pro better. The one in school has also zxt titanium crash, flash splash, and zxt ride. It has an ugly sound. B8pro china has a cool sound.

No questions about it, SABIANS... The crisp, the sound man I would love to have a Sabian collection hehehe. One other thing, its a little cheaper than Zildjians, and their representative here, JPMB, is one heck of a nice person....

i am a zildjian guy ever since i started playing drums. but with all the very positive things being said about sabians, not to mention their very great representatives dito sa country natin, medyo nag-iiba na ang isip ko. :D one of these days, i will give in (budget willing, hehehe)

sabian ako lalo na yung AAX and HHX series.. mamahal nga lang.. hehehe.. dati zildjian ako nung nasa saudi pa ako. pero simula ng nalaman ko na napepeke yung zildjian and which napatunayan ko kasi yung binili kong drumstick same model.. magkaiba ang weight.. and hindi pa pantay yung sticks lagi.. from there on.. i have this conclusion pati cymbals napepeke.. and to think na sa very well known store dati ko binibili yun.. and mas marami na endorser and sabian.. and yeah mas maganda tunog.. and idol ko si dave weckl kaya sabian din. hehehe

Ever since.. Zildjian ang preferred ko..
OT: What can you guys say about a Zildjian bought around 1984? or almost 23 years old (maybe older) My friend's father has those and I've noticed that they are still in good condition, but quite heavier.. Sounds heavy.. Is it better or of same quality as compared to newly manufactured type?

Actually both brands offer different sounds, qualities that's why these companies made different models or series helping out a drummer's taste of sound.
Sabian user na ako...dati Zildjian, siguro i found the sound i've been wanting with Sabian's Hand Hammered and AAX series. :-)

First of all no offense to any cymbal afficionado..this is my opinion and mine alone :mrgreen:
I myself is a Zildjian user ever since..but I regularly use sabians in the weekly meetings I attend..I have to say I am very impressed with what I hear with the Sabians as for the drummers perspective..very sharp..ganda talaga..and to think b8 lang yung nagagamit ko.. :-D several incidents when we record gigs, I noticed though that in my sense of preference the Zildjians sounded better..that's me again for the nth time..As a zildjian user I have to be somewhat jealous how some sabians are crisp and very defined..I have already come across a lot of zildjian cymbals and would still give full and utmost respect for sabians.. :wink: Though I think audience sound perspective differ from the drummers sounf perception..so it still boils down to preference..
Given the chance I would not mind owning a second set myself..this time I would be willing to try out the "S" instead of the "Z" for a change :mrgreen:

Oo tinitipid na nga nila ang bakal. Unang napansin ko sa difference ng weight sa New Beat hats e. Itinuro sakin ni Mike D yung difference ng weight ng old and new New Beat hats na 14". Napansin ko ngang magkaiba ang timbang nila.

im not brand conscious and i really mix and match between zildjian, sabian, and paiste. there are no boundaries naman eh, moreover there is no cymbal police to stop you from tryin out sounds between brands. go for it, you'll feel much better.

same here zildjian user din me kaso ng makagamit din ako one time sa isang studio na sabian yung cymbals iba talaga yung dating sakin and dun ko lang narinig yung hanap me na tunog :-D

again its the classic "sabi nila" qoute...bro there are many factors to be considered on this..is the thing they told you fact or just plain idea?...do they have a b8 cymbal that they experienced it thats why they comment that way or is it because they are long time drummers already and have that enough experience and knowledge more than anyone else?..its best to get idea from your drumming bro but in the end its your decision that will matter...bro if im to buy a zildjian cymbal then i would ask a long time zildjain cymbal user..at least it his experience on the brand will guide me..same thing with sabian, i will ask a credible sabian user and gather information on the brand..even if i were to settle with other brands like stagg..then sa mga stagg users ako magtatanong, at least i would get there honest opinion.
b8' are lower pitch compared to b8 pro and b8 are natural finish and b8 pro are brilliant...man after you gather all the idea of what cymbal to choose at the end of the day its still that money in your pocket the biggest factor..well if you think you have the enough dough to splash on..then dont go for the lower end cymbals anymore..go for the hi-end..at least that "palpak" issue wont bother and worry you anymore..just my two cents my drumming brother.. :wink:

I don't have info how far their feud went..since wala na si Armand ewan ko kung nag reconcile sila before he died..hehe! Now Zildjian is being ran by Armand' 2 daughters..sayang wala na ang legacy ng Zildjian kasi hindi na mapapasa ang surname nila.. :|
Sabian and Zildjian are still 2 solid and competing company's so di natin alam kung bati na sila o hinde..baka si DinDin may chika galing sa Zildjian lab.. :lol:

again its the classic "sabi nila" qoute...bro there are many factors to be considered on this..is the thing they told you fact or just plain idea?...do they have a b8 cymbal that they experienced it thats why they comment that way or is it because they are long time drummers already and have that enough experience and knowledge more than anyone else?..its best to get idea from your drumming bro but in the end its your decision that will matter...bro if im to buy a zildjian cymbal then i would ask a long time zildjain cymbal user..at least it his experience on the brand will guide me..same thing with sabian, i will ask a credible sabian user and gather information on the brand..even if i were to settle with other brands like stagg..then sa mga stagg users ako magtatanong, at least i would get there honest opinion.
b8' are lower pitch compared to b8 pro and b8 are natural finish and b8 pro are brilliant...man after you gather all the idea of what cymbal to choose at the end of the day its still that money in your pocket the biggest factor..well if you think you have the enough dough to splash on..then dont go for the lower end cymbals anymore..go for the hi-end..at least that "palpak" issue wont bother and worry you anymore..just my two cents my drumming brother.. :wink:

Experience ko lang sa ZBT and B8. I am a ZBT 4 owner for 7+ years now. And i'm proud to say na buo pa rin hats ko. Buo pa rin ride ko (although my chip na sya sa gilid dahil sa hairline crack sa pagkahulog ng p.a.) yung crash ko lang nawasak pero take note, after 4 years sya nabasag. kahit na under tremendous pressure sya. 2000 ko pa na-aquire ang zbt ko. grad gift sa akin ng uncle ko sa states. i just wonder bakit magkaiba ang quality ng zbt dito sa us? we bought one for the studio we practice in, after 6 months basag na yung crash. samantalang sa akin bagu-bago pa lang sa studio tumagal ng 4 years yung crash. tapos comparing the planet z noon sa ngayon, masyado na malambot ang planet z ngayon madali mabasag.
sa sabian naman tayo. madalas magamit ko sa labasan ang b8 / b8 pro and masarap rin sya paluin. i'd like to have a set nga if my zbt's would retire or gawin ko aux hats ang zbt ko tapos main hats ko ang b8.
about their sound, sure they won't be as good as the K series or aax and stuff pero it sounds good pa rin. check out our songs sa purevolume.com/cerealbunny yan yung zbt ko. pero di pa mastered yung tracks. hehe.

Ditto. I'm a Zildjian guy, but I don't find the ZBT crash and hats to my liking (The ride is divine though!). As for B8, I like the hats, ride, and especially love the crash! IMO, Sabian's sheet bronze lines don't sound cheap at all! I recently fell in love with the XS20 crash that I played at a Purple Haze gig a while ago. :-D

I'm using my ZXT for 3 wiks na and its getting better and better..... Mas matagal ang sustained great Sheek sounding ng hats... great ride perfect matching ng sounds..... The Medium thin crash really take the cutting sounds....

depende. ayoko ko kasi yung mga dimension ng zxt ehh..yun14" rock hats, 16" mid thin crash and 20" med ride. hindi pasok sa tugtugan namin yung tunog ng zxt cymbals. kung ako po ang tatanungin, mas maganda para sa akin yung sabian b8. that's just me bro. :-)

I am a user of both cymbals.. kung pop ka choose zxt pare loud and agressive to at mas malutong ang tunog. If ever mag tutugan ng rock swak pa din sya kasi ang ZXT ay di malagong and di din matinis kaya mas ok sya sa akin.
Well about sa thread isa lang masasabi ko. both cymbals are good but I prefer ZXT much thicker ang metal nito at cool ang tunog..
About sa sinasabi nila na mabilis masira?????? Well nasa napalo at proper hitting of Cymbals lang yn. Kasi I own a ZBT before yet di pa ako nakasira...

Share ko lang opinions ko on Sabian vs. Zildjian sheets.:) I own some, and I've gigged most. Wall-of-text coming up! These are my ears' opinion, so don't let them sway you. :-D
Hi-Hats are nice and heavy, they cut through loud volumes, pero I don't find the articulation and "chick" present in higher-end metals.
The Ride's the best in the set. It's a bit bright, with a nice ping to the bell. It honestly sounds like a watered down A Projection ride.
I don't really like the Crash. It's a bit trashy, lacks output, and doesn't open up very well. I've heard Planet Z crashes better than this, but not by much.
Zildjian ZBT:
Hi-Hats are okay at best. Decent projection, decent chick, very washy sound.
I like the ZBT Ride. It's a bit soft-sounding, but the ping is heavenly. And it crashes well!
I've had differing opinions on the ZBT Crash. The older ones, I find trashy. The new ones are sweeter-sounding though. And I especially like the 14-incher! It sounds like a fast crash!
Zildjian ZXT:
I've only tried the ZXT Titanium Flash Splash, and I liked it! Granted, mine was warped, but it still stood out in my cymbal set. Quick decay and, well, splashy!
Sabian B8:
The Hi-Hats are sweet! Nice chick, a bit on the soft side, but definitely usable in any gig setting.
The Ride is a bit tame compared to the rest of the set, but it's still okay. Not as pingy as the ZBT, and not quite as bright.
I like the B8 Crash! I have Paistes in my set, and maybe this explains my liking for the B8 alloy sound. Bright, sweet, and just the right amount of sustain!
The Hi-Hats sound like B8's, slightly lower pitch though. A bit darker.
Okay, the Ride has qualities of a good one with its brightness, good projection, and loud ping. However, the Prosonix Ride has a sound that's too colored. It sounds like an effects ride if there was ever one.
Sabian XS20:
If I liked the B8 Crash, I LOVE the XS20! It's sweeter, a bit brighter, somewhat lower in pitch. Just right for my tastes.
Phew. Those are my opinions on the famous sheet bronze metals of the two major companies. Sana makatulong! And Happy Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice/Boxing Day Pinoy Drummers! :-D

DURABILITY = Z Custom ( i think its because that its B20 ) SOUND WISE = undecided. . . (parehong malakas :) ) CUTTING POWER = APX ( B8 has the highest pitch of all as i know ) MUSICALITY = APX (biased ako :D sabian! )

Experience ko sa Z Custom crashes: LOUD, CUTTING, PROJECTS WELL pero may pagka-gongy. Aside from this, hindi ko rin gusto yung dynamics nya. Hindi rin versatile. It's right at home for metal, but won't work for other genres. Nabingi yung alternative band ko sa rehearsal studio sa Z Custom crash nung nagpractice kami. :lol: Come to think of it, pati yung metal band ko nabibingi when I use the house crash sa rehearsal studio na yun hahah.
As for the ride? I love it! Excellent stick definition, pingy, and a nice blend of not-so-washy overtones.
APX vs Z Custom? Lamang ang Z Custom sa live situations. I heard the APXes... Kulang sa character eh. :-D

Going back to the thread i've started not so long ago, the APX china has a very high pitch. Reminds me of my old B8 Pro china na naibenta ko na dito..gustong gusto ko tunog nun..
For the crashes, the APX's were way too heavy for me, i think katumbas nya na ung mga Z custom projections...I use the Z custom medium crash..kaya sakto lang ung response nya para sa kin...It still has its musicality and the sheer volume that I needed when I'm on gigs with my band. On the other side, may binabagayan nga lang cya na tugtugan tulad ng metal or rock. Well, para sa kin pwede pang gawing rides ang mga 18-20" crashes nila. The bell is beautiful :-)

Not to be closed minded or anything since I've never tried the APX series but I think I'll stick to my Z Customs. As mentioned earlier it does cut through without losing musicality. Admittedly it isn't the best cymbal in terms of versatility but with they could really blend well with other (Zildjian) cymbal lines such as the A Custom. An all Z Custom setup would be overkill! :lol:

nag start din ako sa zildjian pero dahil sa mga napapanood ko and yung sunod sunod nila na NAMM awards noon made me shift to sabians. Ang ganda ng models nila especially dun sa high end models nila like AA/AAx/HH/HHx at signatures. Siyempre as a drummer, gusto mo expand yung cymbals mo with your playing, ayun ang nahirapan ako dito satin...come to think of it, Sabian has the most models available, pero di lahat yan kaya ipasok sa pinas, siguro kasi given na baka di kayanin ng pinoy drummers ang presyo nila, ayun nabitin ako kakahanap ng gusto ko. That's why i returned to Zildjians, invested on their higher models. So far, no regrets, and I'm proud to say that i found the sound I've been looking for. :-) Pero di ko sinasabi na zildjian na ako forever...syempre, with regards to sound preference, pwede yan parin yan magbago.

so far wala pa ako zildjian na cymbals but i have used some of it, mostly sabian pa lang..kuntento ako sa sabian sounded pleasant to my ears. am not saying that sabian are far better than zildjian though but there are some lines that zildjian shines also and vice versa. too bad that sabian products are not that readily available here sa pinas at kung meron man limited lang walang masyadong stocks ng mga high end lines nila.. sana dumami na ang stocks ng yupangco para mas wide ang options natin. same thing with JB music: bring more high end cymbals and make it in an affordable at pang masang presyo..

mas ok ang quality/durability ng sabian, for me... pinag isipan ko dati kung stagg, istanbul, or saian b8. napili ko yung b8 kasi ok naman skin yung tunog nya saka pang matagalan! pero kung may pera zildjian ako for now, kasi hindi ko pa nasusubukan yung mga hi-end ng sabian eh... :-( sana maka try ako para malaman ko yung cymbals na papangarapin ko... :lol:

im a sabian user..i like the sabian crashes especially the hhx line...ganda tlga ng tunong sarap epair with the AAX line..for me sabian crashes are the best...but for the hats i like the zildjians...sa ride gus2 ko ung paiste 2002 power ride...meinl splashes are nice and afordable pero madaling mabasag...kaya balik sabian hhx legacy splash...sarap sa tenga..pati ung aax line na splash....thats for me thu...zildjians for hats,sabian for crashes,paiste for rides... :-D

When I started out in drumming, gusto ko talagang bumuo ng all-Sabian set na high end kasi nag-umpisa ako sa B8 and nagustuhan ko sila talaga. Kaso nga, like what was mentioned in this thread, hirap talaga sa availability ang Sabian (especially because I live in the province). So I switched to Zildjians. Kudos to JB for bringing in a wide array of models to choose from. At ang maganda pa, kapag sale, mas mura pa price ng JB compared to online sellers such as Musician's Friend! And since it's prohibitively expensive for me to assemble another all-Sabian set or all-Paiste set (I don't like mixing brands in a kit. Maganda one brand lang para feeling endorser kapag tumutugtog. :-D), mukhang Zildjian all the way na 'ko. Unless magkaroon ako ng kapitbahay na naka all-Sabian or all-Paiste, pwede sigurong offeran ko sya ng cymbal set-swap para maka-try ng ibang brands.
In short, hindi tunog ang naging criteria ko sa pagpili ng brand kundi price and availability. Pero kung tunog lang talaga pagpipilian, for sure meron at meron tayong magugustuhan na models from the Big 3 cymbal brands.

HANEP... lahat ng sound na gusto ko meron sila.. 3) Resale value ang taas kahit papaano!! hehehe.. 4) most of the people I know (pinoy, hapon, chinese, kano) gusto Zildjian. 5) Sabian WAS part of Zildjian naman before eh.. tsaka yung availability rin ng sabians dito tila limitado... tama ba? (though kasalanan na yun ng local distributor.)

When I chose a particular cymbal, like crash or ride or hi-hats, I tend to play with my eyes closed so that my ears can do the listening. Minsan kasi pag nakikita ko yung brand name ng cymbal it creates a subliminal advertisement and I often go for the brand and not with the sound anymore. To further concentrate on the quality of sound a particular cymbal produces, because sound is what it really sells naman and what I personally "look" for, pumipikit ako kadalasan and if ever possible I hit it along with a kick drum and with various velocities para malaman ko if that cymbal sounds better with a strong whack or just a simple "pitik." lalo na pag crash cymbal. It is very clear iba iba gusto natin so iba iba din approach natin sa paghahanap ng ayon sa taste natin. This is what I prefer. Kanya kanya naman yan e.

for me kahit ano (sana nga lahat for variations) IMO. mahirap magkaroon ng dahilan other than the sound that it produces. If there is only a way to buy cymbals by asking "meron kayong ganitong sound?" rather that "meron kayong ganitong (brand)?" ok sana (unless sure ka na sa type ng cymbal and the sound that it produces). mahirap din yata kasi magustuhan and isang "sound" just because of the brand. Also, as mountain bikers say: wala sa pana yan, nasa indian.
Opinion lang po. just a newbie lang din :-D

AFAIK b8pro's are far better than the zbt's. pero kung ako sayo sa 14k stretch mo pa budget mo ng konti bili kana ng high ends AA AAX o kaya zildjian A or K kahit pa isa isa mabubuo din. pero if in need kana talaga ng cymbals, try mo stagg or istanbul meron silang lines na abot kaya na cast b20 alloy at hand hammered pa. pili ka lang mabuti kasi magkakalayo tunog ng mga cymbals nila kahit parehas sila ng lines. stagg sa TMS meron, istanbul naman sa Lazer. pwede din dito sa classifieds dami mura hanap hanap ka lang baka makajackpot ka. hehe well bro just my two cents nasa iyo pa rin ang ang decision. happy drumming and Godbless! 8-)

nag start din ako sa zildjian pero dahil sa mga napapanood ko and yung sunod sunod nila na NAMM awards noon made me shift to sabians. Ang ganda ng models nila especially dun sa high end models nila like AA/AAx/HH/HHx at signatures. Siyempre as a drummer, gusto mo expand yung cymbals mo with your playing, ayun ang nahirapan ako dito satin...come to think of it, Sabian has the most models available, pero di lahat yan kaya ipasok sa pinas, siguro kasi given na baka di kayanin ng pinoy drummers ang presyo nila, ayun nabitin ako kakahanap ng gusto ko. That's why i returned to Zildjians, invested on their higher models. So far, no regrets, and I'm proud to say that i found the sound I've been looking for. :-) Pero di ko sinasabi na zildjian na ako forever...syempre, with regards to sound preference, pwede yan parin yan magbago.

Para sakin dipende sa model. Meron mga model na mas gusto ko sa zildjian compared sa counterpart sabian (e.g. K vs HH). BTW, di ba magkapatid may-ari ng Zildjian and Sabian? (pareho Zildjian family name nila :D) If I'm not mistaken, yung factory ng Sabian sa Canada ay dating factory ng Zildjian (para sa mga K series nila). I'm assuming na pareho sila ng process sa cymbal manufacturing... forging, heating temp/timing, alloys, except siguro sa hammering (w/c greatly affects the sound).
So...
Quality-wise: Same lang for me, same alloy and manufacturing process (I think).
Sound-wise: Mas marami akong gustong model ng zildjian compared sa sabian. Nagkaroon nako dati ng AA and HH series nila pero binenta ko ulit, bumalik ulit ako sa Zildjian (A Custom, Z Custom and K gamit ko ngayon, except for my Paiste Sig Dark Crisp Reflector hats). Most of the time I prefer the 'old-school' specially sa crash, yung di mashado bright or mashado dark na medium to long decay, yung sakto lang...
Overall: Zildjian parin ako
Sensya na kung malabo, mejo nakainom na >:D

I had used both, yung entry level ng sabian tunog lata ganun din naman sa entry level ng Z. Kaya dapat very specific models yung i compare, hindi lang buong brand kumbaga, kaya sang ayon ako sa pahayag ni Schizophrenia na depende yun sa models.
No two cymbals are alike just like no two drummers are the same. It boils down sa preference natin, tunog na gusto nating palabasin I say MUSIC over GEAR/BRAND.

When I was starting drum, 70% Sabian (Hear the Difference) 30% Zildjian. But as I move along, IMO bnew Sabian pies here sa Pinas are overpriced and daming models na di pinapasok. While Z's dito almost complete lineup and lagi pa sale.hehe
100% Z user here. Fallen inlove w/ K custom Hybrid series. :-D

to my ears, the sabian AAX, HHX has lesser overtones than any of the zildjian lines. ( sabi ni master jeff, "tunog bakal" hehe!) that's what i hear. and that's why i like my sabians better.

Narinig ko lineup ng artisan series from SabianVault (Youtube), esp. yung mga crash nila... interesting ang tunog, dunno pero mejo glassy yung tunog para sa akin. Could be sa eq or mic'ing nla. Baka pwede iconfirm ng mga artisan owners natin dito :wave:. Comparing it to my dream setup (K Custom Hybrid crashes and 19 china), hmmm I still prefer those hybrids hehe. Mukhang ok din yung twenty custom series ng Paiste, pero malamang sobrang mahal na naman neto sa atin :-o

I tried both. I was a Zildjian user before. I was using A Customs and Z Customs. They are great cymbals! However, nung nakatry ako ng AAX and HHX lines of Sabian, dun ko narealize na mas pasok sila sa style of music ko. I just like the projection and cut of AAX and HHX. But given the chance, I would love to mix some Zildjian A Customs/Z Customs, and Meinl MB20's to my set-up :mrgreen:

i have 16" artisan vault. dark and glassy. kaya ring mag project kahit 16".

I think mas-innovative ang Sabian ngayon kesa Zildjian eversince naipasa sa anak na babae yung pagpapatakbo sa Zildjian. Nagfocus sa growth yung company(merging with Vic Firth, etc). Nawawala na yung passion sa paggawa ng cymbals at yung relations nila with the endorsers. Maraming mga respected Zildjian Endorsers ang lumipat sa Sabian (Tony Royster, Neil Peart, etc). Eto po ay opinion ko lamang.

How does it compare with the Sabian na 13s na fusion
AAX, AA or HH.. ano ba the best? (For fusion, hihi..)
