Fair naman siguro. Nagpa-quote ako sa Tom Lee kung magkano yung Lonestar 30 Combo,137k yung quotation nila,which is uber mahal for a combo amp,wla pang shipping at duties yun. :-(

Actually nabili ko yung Laney Cub10 ko last year sa ATC branch nila, regular price.
Then sabi ko kelan ba mag sale para sa time na lang ako bibili, then sabi ng manager kung cash daw may less 10% pa daw. Ayun nabili ko regular price minus 10%. :-D
Same thing with my CNB gigbag at marshal MG15 sa southmall ko nakuha. Less 10% din mga un kahit hindi sale.
Tsaka yung MXR Distortion ko pala sa festival branch. Less 10% din :-D

My friend sunil has one. Dalawa na kayo. The only digital about the triaxis is its switching and memory banks.

Pwede rin. Pero daming models ng axe fx na siguradong hindi ko magagamit. MKII lang at MKIV lang trip ko. Kahit meron nun sa axe fx, triaxis parin ako.

i see :-) kaya pala wala ng nag susulputan na brand new sa mga online stores.
triaxis and simulclass 2:90 setup binabalak ko rin dati. Kaya lang nung nalaman ko na wala pala siyang graphic eq, balik mark iv ulit ako hehe.
Ang cool sa triaxis all in one box na siya minus the graphic eq. Clean ng Mark I, Crunch ng Mark IV or Rectifier , Lead ng Mark 2c+. \m/
Kung nilagyan lang sana nila ng Presets yung Mark V haha Mark-Axis V na :-D

anyway the triaxis has a section called "dynamic voice" which is adjustable and replicates the eq settings in the mark series amps...the higher you go on the dynamic voice the more scooped the eq pattern will be...giving you that classic mesa V shape eq :)

What are the speakers of your 4x12? I've tried my dc5 with jem-jr's vintage 30 without uninstalling them. It's really hard to compare since the body of my dc5 is different from jemjr's mark iv. I want a cab with vintage 30 but it sounded really bad with my dc5 preamp.

Yup, nakita ko din! 200k+ They also had in display a transatlantic head, express 5:25 and 5:50. I'm a little bit taken aback with the pricing though, I kinda expected the express to be a lot cheaper, aren't they supposed to be the more affordable Mesas? 120k++ for them??

Get a 2nd hand Mesa Quad preamp, + a Mesa Simul Class power amp and a Mesa cab. Then buy a nice gain boost pedal. That would get you really close to the Mark V. And that would cost less than 1/3.

But in my case its a Mesa Quad preamp using the Rivera TBR1 SL power amp into a mills acoustics 2x12. Heh heh. 1/4 the price.

I guarantee that JB does not know how to fix tube amps properly. Wala silang masyadong experience doon at walang certification ang mga technician nila from Mesa Boogie.

Sana naging plan nila is to have certain regular employees to be sent to Mesa Boogie factories para ma-train sila. Mahirap kasi baka di nila maayos at sirain pa nila yung iyong priced jewel.

Or papalitan mo ng ibang unit if covered pa ng 1 year local warranty sa JB. Paglagpas ng 1 year, covered pa ng 4 years warranty ng Mesa. Ikaw nga lang magpapa-ship.

That's about $3,000-$5000 for the airfare and RFB alone.

But still, how heavy is the Mark V? Around 30kg excluding the packaging? That's already above the typical 25kg weight limit for baggage. It's going to be tough getting through customs with it, too. If they find out that the amp is new and worth more than $300 (which is not that difficult to figure out), well, I don't know.
Anyway, I do see the point. I'm always up for some travel. :-D

All airlines going in and out of USA from Manila have the following specs for checked-in baggage:
- 50 lbs per baggage, and everyone is entitled up to 2 bags with a maximum linear length of 62 inches (width+length+height).
- Carry-on baggage must fit on the overhead compartment or under the seat and with maximum linear length of 45 inches
However, DELTA Airlines, which is the friendliest airline for musicians, have a different clause for music instruments
- 50 lbs per baggage, and everyone is entitled up to 2 bags with a maximum linear length of 62 inches (width+length+height).
- If a checked-in item is a music instrument, it can be up to 100 lbs and with max linear length of 115 inches. So basically you can bring 2 Mark Vs or a Mark V and a 100-pound cab. Remember 2 bags are allowed
- Carry-on Items must easily fit in the overhead bin or other approved storage location in the cabin, based on available space at the time of boarding (which allowed me to carry a guitar on OHSC which is over 4 feet long, buti nalang may lalagyan sila ng coats, so depende talaga sa flight attendants and Delta ground crew).
- I was not taxed when I carried my guitar in OHSC. This is probably a case to case basis. 2nd hand items (or self-declared as 2nd hand) are rarely taxed as well.
Now that's beyond my point. My point is clear naman siguro. 100+% mark-up is awesome! >:D

Apparently some guy from JB Music (not going to name him) just texted me about their upcoming sale this March 1 up to some undisclosed date yet and I was able to inquire on their Boogies on hand specifically the Mark V head and combo plus some of their cabs (apparently they only have the 2x12 Transatlantic and the 4x12 Rectifier ones at the moment and both are in severely limited supply or so was I told).
Problem is that they're still way overpriced after discounts and the guy pretty much admitted that their technicians cannot handle any Mesa Boogie repairs yet should any problem may arise.
Just sharing it with you guys

I didn't ask him further about the warranties and ended the call politely because he started making his sales pitch that they're legit and authorized Mesa Boogie dealers, can't find a better deal elsewhere, etc. Guess I'll be sticking with my Roland Cube for a while :cry:

Yes its true. I just called Mesa Customer Service and they DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALERS OR DISTRIBUTORS IN MANILA OR THE PHILIPPINES. I have been suspicious of this several weeks now because they are NOT listed on the Dealer/Distributor list on the Mesa Boogie website.
This is a case of JB misrepresenting themselves... in fairness to them though, they have NOT claimed to be a distributor but it does mean that its better as recommended here to seek other venues for importation. Mukhang nag parallel import lang sila at sinubukan tagain ang mga hindi nakakaalam tungkol sa presyo ng mesa boogie o kaya sa mga hindi marunong mag-import. Thats fine, pero hindi sila authorized mag repair at service and I doubt if they will honor the warranty. So the only other benefit you are getting from buying at JB are the credit terms and the hassle free importation at those outrageous price.
Ito po ang sinasabi ko na maraming nanloloko sa forum na ito both retailers and local gear manufacturers and local luthiers. They always project themselves more than what they are and are NOT transparent.
Kaya SORRY NA LANG SA MGA BUMILI NG MAS MAHAL... AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, HUWAG NIYO PA-BUKAS SA JB MUSIC ANG MESA BOOGIE NIYO FOR REPAIR OR SERVICING!!!)

I do understand completely. However, because we have strict agreements with our distributors we are not able to sell direct into locations that have Mesa distribution. Also, keep in mind that there are substantial shipping and taxes/duties that appear on the end of the distributor that they are responsible for.

Nagprice reduction ang JB!!! It seems to be on SALE. Price reductions on Mesa Boogies are significant but they are still are overpriced by about US$600-$800 over USA SRP.
P.S. Hindi dahil sa akin kaya nag price reduction. So, I think they are having some kind of March SALE...

Mesa has always dictated how much their products are sold so even dealers won't have as much leeway to play around the prices. only way that MB gear could be had for less is if you are buying it directly from them at dealer cost.
prices in the phils is gonna be much higher given the custom charges for the prices, i imagine. still, 6-800 bucks more than US prices is absolutely nuts.

Agree but there is still 12%VAT, and maybe 5% duty rate to cover on top of FOB. So, kung makuha mo naman sa card na installment baka ok na ang pricing.

it is a heavy bastard. i have one and the head isn't that much bigger than my Mark 4/DC-5. there is a lot of stuff in there.
