Pero I think it's only the Sabian logo. I'm not sure. I hope JP can answer this.

yup i know meron ang sabian.. kaso sino marunong maglagay?? kasi as in buradong burado ang AA logo... so wala na kong pattern sa paglagay..

high school friend ko made stencil cut outs of both zilddjian and sabian then placed em on silk screens then spray painted the patterns on his old cymbals. not very OEM but very ingenious and resourceful way of restoring the logo. silkscreen printing materials are available at national bookstore outlets whilst spraypaints at truevalue or any hardware shops.
shempre before applying the pattern onto the cymbal, practice mo muna on another surface. use at least 3-step coating, dont go all out on the first coat kasi kakalat yung excess paint or will slide down the cymbal (very ugly scenario, u dont want this to happen)
yung sa sabian are stencil cutouts or patterns as well but instead of spraycans, u use marker/pentel pen.
:D

4. panong 3 step coating??

1. yes ganyan yung pang damit/old-school textile printing
2. pwede sa bakal basta u dont use textile paint, use Tamiya model spraypaint, avail at Lils Hobbyshop, this is the spraypaint my friend used, i cannot vouch for other brands of spraypaints
3. depende na sayo, use and apply at your own risk, dont blame me if mali gawa mo ha, pero i could imagine na pag pentel pen di pantay yung printout whilst with Tamiya spraypaint kaya maging pantay basta even and coating by coating yung application.
4. spray a little, leave to dry, spray a little, leave to dry, spray a little leave to dry, repeat until you cover all the spray areas evenly. time consuming? yes--wag kang magmadali, be patient when painting.
again, use and apply only at your own risk. i havent tried this myself but i have seen my pal do it with his cymbals and toys, and it looks good. also he is knowledgeable of painting coz he's a R/C car and model airplane hobbyist.

Hey brothers. I don't see the point why we need to put and show-off the logos' of these cymbals specially when you're not an endorser. They get free advertisement from us. But we don't gain anything from them. :) Prestige? I dont think so. I'd love to get rid of the Logo's in a clean way but I don't know what chemical would work without damaging the finish or metal.

if u really want to: try rubbing em with regular cymbal cleaners, you'll notice that cymbal cleaners are very magical logo erasers as well. dual purpose!

that would be great so that you could assure yourself of a good stencil outcome, assumin you select an experienced graphic artist...but do not use textile paint ha.

thanks bro!

if u firmly believe your neighbour can nail the logo accurately as that of a stencil, go for it. i would suggest stencil pa rin para at least you can see the 'outcome' na through the stencil before it is applied. at least pag medyo sablay yung stencil pattern pwede pa ulitin whereas the manomano style could get messy pag nagkamali. its up to you bro. i didnt hear any particular or obvious difference with my friend's cymbal after the 'artwork' since his coating was thin but neatly done. yung kay joey jordison nga eh, his rudes are painted white, pero rude parin.
:D

thanks bro!

Hey guys,
my friend gave me his old cymbal but the logo is erased.
and what type of paint ang ginagamit?
thanks

Depende sa Cymbal brand. Sabian has its own cymbal recovery kit. You may purchase it from Yupangco/Perfect Pitch. For Zildjian, you may want to check JB if they have their own.
If all fails, buy a PAINT MARKER. Take note, "paint marker" not pen marker. You can get this from Hardware, gamit siya sa construction. Then get a stencil mask from either Enriquez, along recto, near corner avenida (Rizal ave official name) or Deovir sa loob ng Cartimar Recto. Tapos:
1. diskartehan mo pag ddrawing
2. idikit sa cymbals,
3. cut out the inside portion,
4. Use your paint marker
5. Once totally dry, remove the remaining mask.
Hope it works...
-

i would approach this differently if i were in your position:
1. look for a big and defined jpeg or bmp picture file of your desired logo. save to usb stick.
2. go to UYCO sticker maker (there's one shop at basement level of megamall, its a small stall in the middle right in front of bioresearch pet shop)
3. Give them your usb stick and tell them to 'stencil' cut the logo into a vinyl sticker sheet.
i.e. see the zildjian pic above? they will trace the lines of the letters using Corell Draw then they will cut the computer traced lines via their sticker cutting machine. so ang lalabas is butas yung zildjian na letters.
4. bayad then uwi then hanap ng spray paint.
5. position the cutout sticker to the area you wish to put the logo on. make sure walang bubbles or lifted portions along the cut portion of the sticker where spray paint may seep or leak through.
6. pag flat na yung sticker against the surface of the cymbal, spray away! (im assuming you know how to use and spray evenly, take your time, layer by layer para di sloppy.)
i hope i've described my strategy on this well,
pero use it on your own risk ha.
i've never tried it myself but i figure it would work.

The best solution if you really want a logo on your Zild.
OT: Bangbus, meron computerized ba cutting nila? Thanks for the idea on that computerized cut out....

thanks jeva, i'll try it sa mumurahing cymbal muna for practice.
what if yun idea ni bangbus, what type of paint should i use?
thanks
-
hi jeva,
meron ba sa ACE hardware nung paint marker?
I'll try yours and bangbus' idea. kung sino mas maganda kinalabasan,
dun ako. :-D :-D
Salamat mga sirs
-
Good luck bro.
-
meron bang nag rerestore ng logos ng cymbals diyan? :-D

Hey brothers. I don't see the point why we need to put and show-off the logos' of these cymbals specially when you're not an endorser. They get free advertisement from us. But we don't gain anything from them. :) Prestige? I dont think so. I'd love to get rid of the Logo's in a clean way but I don't know what chemical would work without damaging the finish or metal.
maybe they just want to show-off their things, maybe they are proud. But their are some negative reaction from re-printing of logos.
-
The reason could also be aesthetics. Of course, sound should come first. But some people want their kits to look good too, diba? Kanya-kanyang paraan para "papormahin" ang setup yan - whether or not your "bling" serves a purpose sonically.
Cymbal logos are no exception, especially if you have something like an all-K setup, or all-Paiste like many of our fellow forumers. :-D

On topic...
The best way is to view HOW these cymbals are made or labelled. Zildjian STAMPS their logos so the best way is to stamp your Cymbal back to OEM! Their stamps are made with a thick rubber (like GUM RUBBER). You can see the video on YouTube. hope this helps...
Edited...
If you really want to restore your cymbals logo. The best person to talk to are the people making those STAMP PADs!! (ex. RECEIVED, RELEASED, etc) and SUPER-SIZE it!
