Title: Someone has the budget, but don't know what to buy? Let's help them!
Post by: ierofan on September 05, 2012, 03:21:05 AM

No external links please. If you were to discuss individual product prices, please try to use private messages.

I'll start:

35k+ mid range gaming pc rig

CPU:                           AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 (3.3Ghz, quadcore)
Motherboard                Asrock 970 Extreme 3 (4 dimm slots)
Graphics Card                Asus GTX550 Ti (overpriced, but nice cooling according to some)
RAM                            Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 (8x2)    (upgradable up to 32GB, kaya apat ang dimm slots ng motherboard.)
Case                        CM Storm Enforcer (malaki space sa loob, for bigger graphics cards, plus for cooling purposes)
PSU                           Corsair GS700 700 watts (SATA connectors. plus a 6-pin connector for the graphics card, yung ibang psu, wala nito.)
CPU Cooler                 Antec Kuhler H20 920 (awesome cooling, but noisy as hell)

Additional case fans:          500-800 pesos (estimate only)

20k mid/low end gaming pc rig

wat.

I assembled a PC for multimedia applications (3dsmax, Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere), worth around 45-50k.

CPU: Top of the line Intel i7 (as of 1 year ago)
MOBO: make sure it has the appropriate slots for your hardware. don't spend too much on this but pick one that is future proof for 2-5 years (USB 3.0 is very important)
GPU: GTX560 Ti (coz who doesn't love games on 1080p?)
RAM: i've found that 8gb is a good compromise. I don't see myself using 16gb of memory, even on 3D apps.
STORAGE A: OCZ SSD 128gb (very fast, tho i don't recommend this as it has bad reviews, but i haven't had any problems yet after 6months.)
STORAGE B: any branded 1 TB HDD.
PSU: any branded one is fine, 750 watts.
Case: those Coolermasters that's around 2k is good enough.
Fans: add intake one side and underneath, add outtake on top.
CPU Cooler: none.

With that setup you can run games on 1920x1080. And you can seamlessly run any media application on 2 monitors on 1080p resolution. Very very worth the price if you're thinking of a workhorse computer.

2. 1 ala photoshop (GIMP or photoshop portable)
3. office essentials (portable uli siguro)
4. lots of games lol, pero ang tinitingnan kong games dito siguro 2010 backwards. not necessarily all the latest games kasi malamang di talaga kayanin ng mabubuo ko with 20k

Hardware wise, sana yung medyo "future-proof" ang mobo.

Using the price guide above, I'm looking at:

1. CPU: intel core i3 - 5k
2. mobo: MSI H77M-G43 Intel H77/A/V/L /USB 3.0 - 5k
3. hdd: Seagate 1TB 7200rpm SATA - 4k
4. ram: 2 pcs Kingston Hyper-X 2GB DDR3 1600 - 750x2
5. GPU: MSI R5670 1GB DDR3 128bit - 3150

total of P18650 na, pero shempre wala pang monitor and others.

:)
Pero very decent na yan setup mo bro  :)

Tengks! Paano yun? Sensya limited vocabs ko sa IT eh, hehe.

And oh, bawal txtspk.

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=647&card2=574

Kasi yung vidcard ko, 2009 pa binili, alive and kicking parin. Lumalaban pa sa ibang games. hehe.

For mild gaming and general mid-level use, the AMD APUs are quite good. Just assembled a PC using an AMD A8-5600K APU. Quad core 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz unlocked with Radeon HD7560D graphics

It gets a Windows 7 64-bit rating of 7.2 for the processor and 6.7 on both Windows aero and gaming graphics. The real catch here is its price. For a price tag of Php 4550 you get a performance slightly better than its Intel i3 counterpart and a graphic card/chip that's worth 2K at-least if bought separately. Just add a good size RAM to support both CPU and GPU functions.

My complete specs:

AMD A8-5600K                             -      4550
Gigabyte F2A55M                         -      2600
Kingston 2x4Gb 1333 MHz RAM    -     2400
Intel 320 80 Gb SSD (primary)      -     5000
ACBel 500W PSU                           -    1500
Neutron Case                               -     1100

FM2 socket yan. Designed for 2nd Generation A-series APU. Good for gaming na setup for me na kaya macover up to 2-4 years  ng mga recommended requirements in the future.

Yeah, but most members are fanboys (intel fanboys mostly). "Pangit yan, eto gamitin mo... bla bla bla" kahit di pa naman nasubukan yung certain item. I quit TPC right away, that was 2 years ago.

UP!

Budget 20k

CPU: AMD A10-7850k P6300.00
Board: MSI A88XM Gaming P3500 (This is optional. Since the cpu/apu i bought has a bundled gigabyte FM2+)
RAM: 8GB Kingston DDR3 P2980
PSU Corsair VS550 P2200

Pretty much it. The case, CPU cooler, and HDD are from my previous system. But if you'll gonna buy those new, there's still enough budget for you to buy decent case, cooler and hdd. I did not bother buying a discreet GPU as I am gonna use this system primarily for work, and I won't go full hardcore on gaming anytime soon.

The verdict: Not that great for gaming, but not BAD either (can go high but not ultra high). For office work, it's a little hard core.

The primary pro of my current setup is budget. My main con right now is even with the highest toughest APU in the AMD A series, it still can't go head to head with systems with discreet mid to high end GPUs, for gaming at least. i've played Fall Out 3, Tomb Raider 2013, Assassin's creed Black flag.I still have to turn down the settings even if all of those are old games, a year old at least.. But right now, I'm using my system for work. I have mulitple virtual machines running. No problems so far. I also used my system to edit (amateur editing) some of my vlog videos using Sony Vegas Pro. So, there.

So far, I'm happy about it. Upgrading is not on my plans yet.

Because I need the computing power. If I needed something lower than that, I could have easily switched to a cheaper one.

Before you do building, ask yourself, what do you need your rig for? Will it be gaming? Office stuff? Hardcore office stuff? Watching movies? Things like that. I could fit everything inside a 20k budget. But, I have to consider some things. And since I have existing working parts, I shot for the best upgrade I could buy with my budget..
