Title: Bass drum pedal cam drives

guys whats best? belt, chain, or direct drive pedals? what are pros and cons of each? thanks po :D

for me, chain drive is the most common.. pag chain drive, ramdam mo yung full shock ng impact.. masakit din sa paa minsan.. pag belt drive, it's like floating on air! direct drive daw is for fast action, pero katulad ng chain drive, mas ramdam mo shock!

ahh ok... nakita ko kc ung direct drive ng Gibraltar sa jb eh... enticing at 6,400 single ped hay...ung double peds nmn na model 14k double peds... what to buy what to buy hehehe

hey man, i suggest before you buy those peds you check it out first man and test it, because this is the only way you'll know if you're into the belt druve or chain drive, well thats just my two cents

sir yes gs2 ko din i try kung ano nga ba mas ok, gs2 ko lang po malaman kung ano feedback ng mga veteran drummers here hehehe... inclined ako ngaun sa direct drive due to it being faster than chain or belt as some said...

lately ive been comfortable already with belt drives..but i wont mind goin back to chain drive systems.. :wink:

depende sa trip mo dude... for me double chain works for me.. belt drives
gave m also a nice feel... pero i dunno... kanyang trip lang yan.... hehe.. sinu kaya gusto magimbento ng triple chain pedal.. ? hehehe..

ayus lang.. ung bago maganda.. kaso 19k ata ung direct drive..
hehe.. nyway.. ewan ko.. mga troopa ko ayaw mag gibraltar because
of the connecting rod easily breaks.. so pag naputol un.. good as single pedal
ka na lang.. i never owned one actually.. pero madame nakong troopa na nasiraan ng rod.. ayun.. i dunno the reason of others...

Kung tibay, chain drive for sure.  Comparing a double chain drive and belt drive in terms of lightness and response, I prefer belt.  Between a single chain drive and a belt drive has almost the same lightness feel for me.

ung doble chain.. not as fast pero mabilis pa din pero mas matibay.. hehe..

dude i suggest bili ka nun belt drive para sa elims mo, at least you can experiment wether you like the belt or chain drive..interchange able naman yan.. :wink:

the elims belt drive and chain drive are the same price pare.. :wink:

parang mas maganda yung feel pag belt eh. pero pag chan parang mas maganda pag mabilisan. pero wala akong belt eh. yung chain lang.. nakikigamit lang ako nung may belt.  :-(

nasisira po ba yung belt? Ano bang material yun? parang for lifetime na kasi eh mejo matagal tagal na din yung sakin pero ganung ganun pa din yung itsura... Sir JP magkano po ba yung double chain? And, hindi kaya masisira yung "plastic cams" pag chain ang gamit? :-D Thanks..

ive been a belt user for almost 2years na..so far naman im happy with it..well wala pa naman ako experience na nasira yun cams pag chain ang ginamit,...hope that helps... :wink:

ang gaan talaga  :-) i think pareho lang ng material ang belt nun sa fan belt ng kotse

I love the solid response and attack of the Chain Drive. I guess it really depends on your playing style/demands. The heavy feel yet accurate response feel or chain drives just works for me. :-) They also have an edge in terms of durability.

if you're aiming for speed and consistent smoothness, go with direct drives. most go with chain drives still though since mas prefer nila yung force ng tug at minute force variance as compared to at times "uncontrollable speed nuances" due sa smoothness ng direct drives. I for one prefer chain driven peds for that reason. :idea:
