so i'm 17 years old. and i work out every weekday. i'm just afraid that it might damage my muscles cause i heard it's bad to do it everyday. but isn't it good to do pushups everyday? my logic is that every other work out is like a pushup for that specific muscle
so one set in my routine is 15 clap pushups, 10 side laterals (10lbs), 12 bicep curl (20lbs), 15 dumbell good mornings (20lbs), 5 overhand pullups, 5 underhand pullups, 10 squats.
this is my home work out and i do 3 sets every weekday. will this destroy my body?

Muscles grow during rest period. Not sure if muscle tear is going to catch up on you but if your purpose for working out streneously is to bulk up, taking some breaks is something you may consider.
Kudos sa discipline mo bro. Hope id have the same ability to keep up with my work out sched.

hinde naman masama mag work out araw araw basta sa bawat araw iba iba yung part nung muscle na titirahin mo at hinde ganun kabigat yung mga binubuhat mo, kung nag chest ka ngayon shoulder naman bukas basta yung big part nung muscle natin wag mo araw arawin, kung mali man ako mas maganda itanung mo sa instructor nyo :lol:

if you can do push-ups everyday, then it means you need more resistance cause you obviously are too strong for your own body weight, or you are not doing enough.
but judging on your routine, i am thinking you need more resistance, cause you can carry your body weight just fine.
but why concentrate on push-ups? there are more muscles to work out than just chest ... try doing legs - cause that's the muscle most people hate working on.

...thus resulting to bad body proportion. imagine,huge chest or upper body...pero toothpick legs and flat glutes.
kahit 20 lbs na lunges at 20 lbs na squats lang with 12x3(reps and sets) lang. basta mag bulk ng konti at magka definition.

work out araw-araw = bruce lee body, lean and ripped, weight loss
work out plus rest intervals = weight gain but with muscle growth,
work out once a week = pampapawis lang, pampacondition pero mataba padin
walang work out, tv tulog lang = pagtaba

As long as you dont overdo it its ok
Make sure you warm up first and do stretching
If it hurts, stop and rest
Once there is no more pain you can resume
If the pain persists consult a doctor

i used to work out everyday when i was your age. mag split system ka para you can work out some muscles while resting other muscles. it worked for me back then. try mo baka mag-work din for you.

it's ok to workout everyday. I asked the gym instructor the same thing when I was still starting out. sabi niya ok lang as long as you won't stress out your body meaning don't force yourself if you feel like your body is too worn out. working out with a stressed body will have negative effects sa muscles mo.

how can you tell whats stressful and whats not sa pag workout? i mean when you go to the gym and start pumping steel, di ba youre putting stress to your body? does it mean i can go to the gym and hit only the light ones? para pawisan lang at mag shape up eventually?
and since sinabi din naman nung instructor mo na pag napwersa yung body eh dapat tumigil muna, edi parang hindi rin advisable yung everyday workout?

I think what he (the gym instructor) meant by it is you can't force yourself sa pagworkout to the point na hihina na yung katawan mo pagkatapos ng workout.

I think ito yung feeling na hindi na "positive" yung feeling mo. I can't describe it properly, pero dati araw-araw din ako nagbubuhat to the point na i lost around 30 lbs in 2 months yata
May mga times na parang feeling ko pagod na pagod ako kahit di pa ako nagbubuhat, tapos parang mentally wala akong gana. Pero nagbubuhat pa rin ako. Siguro yun yung ibig niya sabihin, mental stress siguro coupled with the physical stress na parang di ka pa nagsisimula pagod ka na.
Muscle needs rest din kasi in-order to grow eh. Kailangan sirain mo yan for it to grow, pero siyempre kailangan ng time to recover. Parang building lang, kailangan mo muna gibain para makapagtayo ka ng bago. Ngayon kung araw-araw mo ginigiba yung building mo at walang oras para sa construction, magkaka-problema ka niyan

working out every weekday is fine as long as you make sure that you work out different parts of your body everyday.

I was motivated by depression, because my EX dumped me for an office mate.
I tried jogging for 1hr every night, and workout every other day for 2weeks. I just eat twice a day.
The thought of destroying my muscles was also in my mind those times...
This was me 3yrs ago (the one with no shirt)...

There's nothing wrong with working out everyday. Just make sure you have plenty of sleep, at least 8 hours. Pro body builders workout twice a day.

Just do it.
Some people are forced to "workout" 8 hours a day as carpenters, pahinantes, etc.... and they can kick our butt's any day of the week. So go ahead, whatever you can. Because if you need to still ask about working out here, you are not at the gym pressing at the bench.
Develop a tight core, strong shoulders and forearms, and toned abs. Get ripped. F*ck better.
