hi guys, sa November 17 (i think) na daw yung release ng new PlayStation 3 console ng Sony. i saw several clips na of their first games.. grabe ang quality! i dunno if there are many gamers here but the PS3 puts most gaming PC specs to shame, not to mention na very interactive pa ang buong console itself. may WLAN na for online gaming (and surfing na rin ata), hard disk drive, Bluetooth controllers (pero pwede pa ring cabled), etc. by the way, it also uses the new Blu-Ray disc format. it has around 8-10 times more capacity than normal single-layer DVDs, i think. and backward-compatible pa rin sya with CD and DVD formats.
i'm sold. pag medyo nagmura na to, kukuha ako for sure. kukuha ba kayo? :)

IMHO sobrang mahal ang ps3.
kaya kuntento na ko sa xbox360 ko. hehe. tapos nintendo wii nalang. yung presyo
naman ng wii+360=ps3. :-)

Grabe sa mahal ng price nila ah: $750.... magkano pa kaya dito sa korea yan... nsa $1000 na pag na-release dito... mukhang makuntento nlang tlga sa xbox 360... tsk. tsk. tsk... :-D

mga pare! hindi naman pala US$750 ang PS3, merong $499 version and $599 version. ang main difference between the two is 20GB ang hard disk drive ng sa $499 and 60GB ang sa $599. meron pang ibang features pang meron sa more expensive version na wala sa cheaper one pero di ko pa alam kung anu-ano yun. probably built-in WiFi? yes, mahal pa rin pero specs na ng malupit na PC yung PS3 so sulit pa rin sya siguro :)

Siguro pag bumaba na sa 10k ang presyo kukuha ako...pero malamang sa 2008 or 2009 na yun hehehe. :-D

pero tingnan mo naman yung quality ng mga games nun.. sa Metal Gear Solid 4 pa lang, laglag na panga ko e! yung in-game graphics eh mas malupit pa sa cutscene graphics sa PS2 ngayon :-o

Sony Confirms PS3 Scaling Prob, Promises Fix
Sony has formally recognized the scaling issue present when attempting to play 720p format PlayStation 3 games on a HDTV lacking 720p support. Such games are currently downscaled to 480p instead of being upscaled to 1080i. Engineers are working on a firmware update to resolve the issue, though there is no estimated time frame indicated for release.
"A small number of older High Definition television sets found in the United States only have 1080i inputs for HD signals. Those televisions will currently only play some PS3 titles at 480p resolution. PS3 games render images at either 720p or 1080p for High Definition, and you need 720p input on the TV to play select games that do not support 1080p. This is an issue on the side of the individual television sets, which do not accept 720p input, so when a game outputs an HD signal only at 720p, these select TVs have to display the game at 480p instead."

parang mas trip ko nga rin yung XBOX 360 eh price and ichura... talo lang talaga yung games na available sa XBOX bad trip... lalabas kayas a XBOX 360 yung tekken 5 Dark Ressurection, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill 5 ? yan lang naman kc inaabangan kong games eh hehehe NBA live 2k7 andun na sa 360 no need to worry about it :-D

Who knows? Tekken is developed by Namco/Bandai... Who also develops games for Microsoft...
Also, There are rumors that with the success of Dead Rising on the 360, Microsoft is planning to buy CAPCOM! So earlier rumors that a 360 version of the Resident Evil series looks feasible...
There were also some popular Sony exclusive games that went 'multi-platform'... Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear, Ridge Racer, Raw vs. Smackdown, etc... So maybe seeing Tekken 6 or 7 on the 360 may be reality!

yep, kelangan talga pair ang next gen console sa HDTV para masulit. actually kahit ps2 ikabit mo sa HDTV, ibang klaseng experience. dein nakakasuka yung mga first person, smooth talga parang PC.

The rumours about PS3-exclusive games that might also come to Xbox 360 keep on coming. After recent messages about Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4, this time it's Tekken 6 whose exclusivity is taken into doubt.
According to "sources within IGN" (the same source who said VF5 would come to Xbox 360) Namco is currently working on a Xbox 360 version of Tekken 6, that would appear winter 2007, just short after the PS3-version.
Is Tekken 6 the next exclusive Sony is going to lose and where will it stop? Will Sony have any exclusive important franchises left at the end of 2007?

1st gen pa lng kasi ng games sa PS3 and d pa na mamaximize ung full potential niya, while sa xbox 360 its been around for a year na so the devolopers already get the hang of it.
sabi dyan wait lng daw ng cguro a year or so for the devolopers to maximize the console's full potential.
also some games needed to be rushed para mai launch alongside the PS3 release date hehe
