Eto yung post-rock and math-rock na bands dito sa pinas na napakinggan ko na:
Encounters With A Yeti
Earthmovers
Tide/edit

I'm sure madami pang bands dito na may kaparehas na genre(Isa na kami dun. Kaso wala pang gig.. hahah!!).

Foreign bands na nasa post-rock and math-rock genres:
Periphery(Oo, Math-rock sila!!!)
Fox Capture Plan
Tricot
Toe
Low-Pass
Toconoma
Brontide
Fueding Fathers
This Town Needs Guns
Chon
Sphaeras
I Am Wolves
Cat Or Pillar

Hahah!! nakalimutan ko na yung iba. Check niyo nalang sa web yung ibang bands.  Ang sarap lang talaga nila pakinggan.
Sana Ma'appreciate din nila yung mga ganitong genre...

Hasn't any one able to listen to God is an Astronaut and This will destroy you? Its a must you guys listen to both of them. Toe is getting to meh for me. Just to name a few post rock bands to listen to - Matryoshka, Euphoria, Explosions in the Sky. Dont know you classify Russian Circle's music but they can certainly fit into the category of 'post-rock'.  The difference is that they don't rely too much on the 'signature' delay+chorus combo of the genre but rather rely on overdriven riffs with a close-to-traditional post-rock drumming pattern

Mogwai. Watching them live was one of the most surreal experiences i have had. Also Caspian.

Present. Been listening to post-rock since 2011. Una kong napakinggan yung This Will Destroy You.

Some of my personal favorites:
Lymbyc System
Mooncake
Sigur Ros
Hammock
And So I watch you from afar
Godspeed You! Black Emperor!
God is an Astronaut
Mogwai
Mono

Try Jakob from New Zealand. Their songs like Faye, Control and Malachite will get you started.

You can also try Isis (not the terrorist group). Sludge metal sila pero there are elements of progressive and post rock. Try their songs like Wills Dissolve, Dulcinea and 20 minutes/40years.

And of course, Mogwai!

:)

Guitar player here! I mix post rock with other elements like sludge or alt metal. But I always explore post rock since it gives my songs a different feel on it. hehe

Hmm bago lang ako sa ganito. I gave tricot a listen. pusa nabasag utak ko sa tiyempuhan.

It's not all technical like shredding and [gooey brown stuff] but if you can call playing in very odd time signatures as a "technique"...

I think Meshuggah can be counted as math as well.

Sithu Aye, Plini, Gru considered ba sila as math? Medyo sakitan din sa ulo bilangan

Sa ngayon, Explosions In The Sky pa lang ang napapakinggan kong post-rock band. I will try to listen to the bands named on this thread kapag nagka-time na. I really want to explore this genre since I guess this can be conducive to my ambient guitar learning.  :)

Try This:

Jakob - Saint, Faye, Malachite (solid ambient sila na band from New Zealand)

:)

Not really into post, but I love math genres. I'm not really into core genres either, but mathcore is the [gooey brown stuff].

Fall of Troy, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Between the Buried and Me are my [gooey brown stuff], although BTBAM is more of a techmetal band with maybe a few mathcore songs.
