Yes Exactly my issue i bought one before the one that Guthrie uses and well it didn't really perform well so that's why I'm asking other musicians who have tried :l

Ok naman sa akin, I'm using their .11s and so far ok naman, now all my guitars were armed with Roto.
Or I guess ung "kinasanayan" na lang, kasi I've tried so many strings na for the longest time and Roto really shines for me :)
Although I wanna try Elixir's, nah saka na un. hehe  :-D

very inconsistent, i refreted a guitar then installed roto strings, started playing it then meron syang weird buzzing
sound, i was sure that frets were leveled for a moment i doubted myself but after a few minutes i decided to change the strings with EB slinky
and guess what weird buzzing sound was gone. and this didn't happen 1 time, experienced this a few more times cause i wanted to
test the strings kasi baka lemon lang,

also mabilis mag dull yung tunog nang roto compare to say addario, ernie ball etc... come to think of it elixirs may cost 2x as much but
it does last longer, but personally i like slinky but that's just my preference

Roto sounds are a hit or miss. they sound great if you get the good sets. based on my experience, mas matagal mag corrode si Roto than Ernie Ball. however, as stated by our fellow forumers, may mga bad sets din. and I hate their packaging. brandnew set pero may kalawang agad out of the packaging. sobrang no no for me.

I was a long time Roto Sound user, then after 3 sets na may rust out of the package, I switched to elixirs na. best decision ever.

the rust problem is not only a roto problem it also happens to the best of them mostly siguro pag matangal na tenga sa mga warehouses nang mga distributors

i used to use roto strings before and i have to say medyo nakakainis nga yung pagbukas mo ng packaging e (slightly) rusted strings ang bubulaga sayo.Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a supposedly brand  new set. i have to mention though that i liked their pure nickel strings.  :)

(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee378/thelazermusic/rotosound/roto_zps76651a77.jpg) (http://s1224.photobucket.com/user/thelazermusic/media/rotosound/roto_zps76651a77.jpg.html)

So far mula nung bago na ang packaging wala pa naman kami na-encounter na may nag complain na may kalawang ang strings pagka bukas nila. :)

i don't know? pero the point is, with D'addario/elixir/ernieball, I never had an experience where pagbukas ko ng bagong biling set, may rust na. it's just poor packaging on RotoSound's Part, and it's nice to hear that they've done something about it.

And ganto na ung nabili ko the last time I bought a pair from Lazer.
And yes, before I was buying it na naka-karton pa, and we opened majority of their stocks na Roto just to check kung may mga rusts and oxidation ung ibang strings.
Good thing they changed their packaging  :-D

I had a good experience with roto, never ko na-experience yung may kalawang. actually tingi ako kung bumili dati since naka custom gauge ako 11-14-18-32-42-56. sa lazer ako nabili, ok naman..pero di na daw available kaya nag elixir ako, pero pag meron na ulit balik roto ako.

Yup, it's true that the Rotosond strings have a new packaging, and a new color coding to boot! Still with the free high "e" (1st) string.

This one I got from Lazer. To my surprise, it had two "A" (5th) strings! And no "B" (2nd) string. What a let down. I hope it's just a one in a million incident.

I guess it just goes to show that even with the new packaging, inconsistent pa rin sila sa pagpa-pack.

The last time I bought (old packaging) walang high E!
