I heard them live performing (in some tv shows), mejo manipis sa pandinig tugtog nila pero their guitarist is so hot! :lol: their axeman can really shred! ...not to mention the hair & looks.

are you refering to his Guitar style? his too hot for the band he's in i agree to what most of you guys say. i know Juven also he can really shred no doubt i just dont get it when he does that with rocksteddy songs. its a question of musical taste rather than skill.

i completely agree with Muzik... i know juven also and christian, when i was still with ppitch they hang out in store everyday naging staff ko nga si xtian e. i have seen Juven play almost on a daily basis doing his stuff at my store, yeah the dude can burn frettboards and has a lot of flashy licks. but to me it doesn fit well with rocksteddy. yes Taste is the issue, skill? we already seen what hes capable of. if he is going to take this constructively all he needs to work on is how to put all his magic into the right places at the right time. (maturity also includes controling your adrenalin rush / sort of not betting all your money in one race) Music doesnt just involve active parts whithin a song context... space is also involved thus the term less is more. then again the benchmark in commercial music is how popular one is and how much record he sold, and how many paid gigs is on his calendar (well professionaly i guess and from the general listening public's point of view). in this regard Juven (and the whole band) is having a blast. and that can be a much better feeling than having the perfect vibrato or the best tone in the world. The Bottomline is ... Music is subjective no one can please everyone. what a cliche huh? but true

I'm not that fond of them, but they're nice if you're looking for some light material to listen to on a weekend. :-)
And like the others, I think wala lang sa lugar ang solos ng lead guitarist nila. Magaling siya, oo.. it's just that hindi match yung solos niya sa songs ng Rocksteddy. Magulo tuloy yung kinakalabasan. Nagwawala ang kamay. :-D

Rocksteddy is just another POP band for me ... they are not even rock for my taste. The guitarist is more suitable for more aggressive rock! :evil:

The bass player Christian was my bass player way back when I was in Pinas.He was like 18 when I hired him,a very humble kid.All prodigies are humble and disciplined if u will notice.Now to answer your question,I have no idea coz ive never heard their stuff.

Okay nga nabuhay yung thread. This thread died a natural death due to the fact that no one really cares about Rocksteddy anymore. I hope that the lead guitarist could find a better band, he's got talent but he's really in the wrong band.

/facepalm. Imagine if Paul Gilbert did his shred solo on To Be With You? Tingin mo ba hindi bagay yung solo niya dun? Siyempre kailangan pasok sa banda yung ginagawa mo kaya nga banda kayo eh. Kung may hindi pasok at tinatapakan niya yung ibang members, bakit pa kayo nag-banda?

I don't get the "if you can't do better, don't criticize" line of thought. There's no logic to it. If that's the case then noone here should say anything about singers unless they can sing, and we guitarists cannot comment on [gooey brown stuff], out of place, drum solos. I don't need any credentials to say that Jimmy Page's playing is sloppy. I just need my EARS and PERSONAL TASTE.

Ano bang problema mo sa bagay sa banda? Siyempre dapat bagay sa banda kaya nga banda kayo eh.
Nabasa ko rin sig mo, wala ka palang banda kasi di mo naiintindihan yung concept ng banda.

Anyway, tama na ko sa thread na ito. I've made my point. I wasn't challenging anyone and I don't care for other people's criticisms on my opinions. As far as I'm concerned, that's the way I see Rocksteddy and that's it. If you're too hotshot, challenging people to do better than Rocksteddy, I'm sorry di ko kaya talunin yung shred niya. Hindi naman ako nagmamalaki na kaya ko talunin. All I was saying is that he should be in a better band than Rocksteddy. What was their last hit anyway?
