Title: mp3 Bitrates
Post by: andrew_O_O on July 14, 2007, 04:28:01 PM
whats the best way to lower the bitrate of mp3s without comprimising the sound quality too much....kasi ive heard na those bitrate converters reduce sound quality drastically when lowering bitrates or making them higher....

i wanna conserv space and battery on my ipod by lowering the bitrates of my 320bitrate mp3s

I use 192kbps. It's a good compromise.

test ka ng isang song in 320 and one reduced to 192 using whatever it is you have, kung wala kang marinig na difference puwede na iyon.

what I use though is Adobe audition

96 kbps... cd quality... i use Sony Vegas 7.0 to lower my mp3's bitrates... its also the software my band uses when we record our songs so we won't forget how they go...

if you really want to conserve space sa ipod, try using the .AAC format (64kbps)...i managed to fit 2,436 songs into my 4GIG ipod nano...use the built in encoder ng itunes...if you want to change the songs currently in ur ipod, try downloading ipod agent so u cud extract the songs, then once nasa pc na yung mga kanta, format mo na yung ipod (or just delete it), then add the folder where you put in the songs that you copied from your ipod into ur ipod library...the convert to AAC. try it...galing nito...PM me if you need help. PEACE!

I always use the best VBR settings.

Use EAC for ripping and L.A.M.E for encoding, it will provide you 320 kbps CBR quality at around 256kbs VBR. Also, make sure to always only get your music from original CD's and use higher end earphones. Stock earphones, in general, will only reproduce music like you encoded them at around 128kbps. I personally recommend Shure SE210 if you're a little tight because they're sold at 0% interest for 6 months for only PhP 7,990.

192 ok na. Pero honestly hindi na ko conscious sa bitrates ng mp3 ko nowadays.

i always seem to notice if the bitrate of an mp3 is lower than 192, since some of the tracks are compressed and there's a feeling of compression rather than optimal freedom.
