heeya again fellow drummers, i've noticed that the top choice of drumheads here are Remo and Evans, of course there are other choices also like the PDP skins and Pearl protone skins...i'm sure some of you guys are familiar with Aquarian drumheads (coz i'm not hehe)...pls post your reviews here if anyone has tried or owns one,..if ever this Aquarian Drumheads will be available locally, do you think it has a potential market here?....you decide fellow drummerkings :wink:

Meron ako Aquarian Superkick II as my bass drum batter head. It basically sounds similar to the Evans EMAD (distributed locally by Audiophile).
Palagay ko may market yan dito, especially if mas mura siya sa Remo or Evans (ewan ko lang kung mas mura nga siya, hehe)

I saw a new distributor of Aquarian Drum heads yesterday Sa MOA.... kakadating lang ng mga heads... puro Hi-class! Astig! bait pa nung OIC nila... na educate pa ko.. Dealer din sila ng Carbosticks at mga Drum Bags, at may HUDSON DVD's at book din sila...

walang katapat yung service nila sa sound essentials kumpara sa ibang stores. ibang klase sa product knowledge pati sa assistance. ambait sobra.
andaming music literature dun! yung mga di niyo kayang i-download *ehem* bilhin niyo nalang dun! sobrang dami sa pagpipilian!

Price ng Aquarian: starts ata sa 600 up! mahal pero astig... ganun ang tindahan friendly! at nag eeducate pa! hehehe... ano name ni maam? :lol:

kalimutan ko kung anong brand yung mga drum bags. cymbal bags 1.3k ata, snare drum bags 2.3k ata. may mga graphics na nakalagay sa bag.
yung cymbal bags trip ko, maganda yung pagkakagawa, 22" cymbals kasya din. kaso di ko natignan kung may individual pockets/dividers siya sa loob.

ngTAP test ko kanina and nainlove ako agad kaya nkakuha ng isang set hehehe.
ok din yung performance 2 for that deep rock sound.
nainstall ko na yung 12" ko and yeah baby thats the best sounding head. parang recorded yung tunog ng tomtoms :) kumakanta kahit finger tight pa lang ang srews.
no remo plastic sound. nomoongels. no Orings.

FYI guys, Mike Johnston (Youtube) endorses Aquarian Drumheads, along with DW and Paiste. Gusto ko rin tunog ng toms at kick nya, although I know mic'd at processed yun pero it helps to know he uses Aquarians. :-)

if there's one caveat i have with sound essentials, it's that their products (except maybe for the dvd's) are slightly overpriced.
aquarians are priced lower than remos in the U.S. and i don't get why they can't do that here.
actually, scratch that, i know sound essentials is a smaller entity compared to jb music, so they order less and therefore have higher costs, etc. but i really would appreciate it if they could at least price them nearer to remos.
also, i have this weird aversion to their moa branch now since they always try to sell you stuff once you enter their store. it was nice at first since it's like treating every customer with importance, but now it's annoying especially if you just want to look around and not be bothered... (BUT their staff is still some of the friendliest i've encountered. kudos to them.)
this is a pointless rant, i know.

Ang ganda ng tunog ng aquarian! I bought a bottom snare head for P648 and i must say, there is a difference between the remo head i had on my JJ snare before and the aquarian head that my snare has on now. Mas luminis tunog niya, it's very nice! I was viewing some of the recent videos of kamikazee earlier and i've noticed that bords is also using a JJ snare with an aquarian hi-energy snare head on. :-D

I'm planning to get an Aquarian Super Kick I or II batter and resonant heads for my Pearl Masters MRP 20x22 bass drum. I want to have more punch and low end.
Is this a good choice? :-)

I'm using TCPD(Texture Coated w/Power Dot)batterhead for my JJ snare,and also for my Gretsch renown maple 14x6.5. :-D

for me aquarian is the best. Especially the High energy snare drum head!

its better bro kung punta ka mismo sa store nila... eexplain talaga nila ang product ng aquarian. rock n roll bagsakan namin talagang kayang kaya ng single ply ang hataw ko sa snare. :-)

Warning to the others, this drumhead breaks easily.
I only play a few minutes on weekends and I'm not a heavy hitter. My pedal is a single Demon Drive with rubber beater.

excellent round yung sound nyan. nakagamit ako nun sa isang practice namen. sabe ko nga eh, gusto ko na palitan yung present skin na gamit ko. very big OK yan.

Fernando piccolo snare ko sya nilagay, Naka aquarian hi-velocity ko on top and hi-performance sa reso.
Gusto ko sana yung mejo crisp yung sound and mejo less ang overtone.

Siya pag mahigpit.so control it with muffling na lang lalo na pag steel.pero don't kill the overtone
And one more thing pantayin mo tension bawat lug,keeping a same pitch on each lug,
It would make the sound buo.and lessens the overtone as well. :)

Wood sir. Tight tuning na din both reso and bater heads.naka moon gel na din.pag o ring majo ok. Kaso choke yung sound:(
Im planning na paayus yung bearing edge and pa tune na din ka sir vinch para swak.

I have same problem with him before, niluwagan ko lang yung tuning ko sa snare and reso. I also use tissue and masking tape both ends ng snare. It sounds better. Balance lang yung overtone.

undersized hoops is a known issue for Aquarians. Not sure which brands or models are affected though. I'm really keen on trying Response 2s but this issue bugs me.

nababasa ko lang sa Drummerworld yun eh, pero hassle din siguro kung bigla mapudpod naman yung bearing edges :-( kasya kaya sa mga yamaha ko :wink:
