The Gretsch Catalina Ash kit was given plenty of raves on its review on Modern Drummer's August 2007 issue.  Based on the review, I can say that this is a nice-sounding and professional-looking mid-level drumkit.

The Pearl Export Series drums is a tried-and-tested entry-level kit which gets more improved over the years.  So, with a reputable brand like Pearl, one cannot go wrong either.
