Kahit saan mo binili yung guitar ok lang basta may kasama ka marunong tumingin. Yung body ng Fernando strat I'm not sure pero pag binuhat mo matatantsa mo kung ply or solid. Tapos para kang bumili ng auto nyan kasi setup mo para mas maging ok. IMO

Magaganda ung mga fernando guitars sa jb. Made in Korea cila. And magaganda ang made, lalo na kung titingnan mo ung fretboard and fretwires. Silver ang gamit. Ang ganda nung schecter model and parker fly copy.

Ayuz!

One of our band members got an MIK Fernando, replaced the bridge hardware to gold, changed the screws to gold also, removed the stickers, planted a new Fender logo in it and set it up properly.  A/B'd with my Strats, it gave all my MIA and MIJ Fender Strats a run for their money.  You cannot easily tell the difference, sound-wise.  On clean tone, it sounded very much like Hank Marvin's red Strat.  The pups, electronics and tuners were not even changed at all.  Cosmetics lang.  Damn good guitar.  Again, you have to choose carefully from among the bunch, and you have to set it up properly.

OT:
basta pag cgurado ka na, punta ka dun, ipababa mo lahat ng mga fernando nila, ipa-tune mo lahat, tas subukan mo isa-isa. i think more people have to develop the guts to do this. even just the kids shopping with their parents. kase kahit naman baguhan ka pa, meron ka pa ring mapipili na mas gusto mo kesa sa iba diba?

i've done this for a couple of folks already: dads with their kids who don't know crap. tapos masama tingin sakin ng staff minsan hehe.

Correct!  The money you shell out for an instrument (whether cheap or boutique) is an investment.   You don't know if Junior's first Strat copy would inspire him to be the next Yngwie Malmsteen.  And that necessitates a great instrument.  And always make these store staff members bear in mind that it is the customers bring them business, which pays their salaries.

+1 and be polite if you wish to be assisted in trying out the guitars :)

i saw na rin ang parker fly copy... mukhang maganda din but i didnt test it na... someone is offering me a fernando unique series custom made in korea, floyd and slim lang, magaan pa... i dont know kung copy sya from other branded guitar... hindi kasi ako particular sa mga models...  anyway, maganda naman and ok naman sounds nya from an amplifier; but my concern is i dont know the qualitative points ng fenando in terms of sounds and parts.... anyone? baka kasi naoverwhelmed lang ako...  :?

The first guitar I bought after a long hiatus (of 10 years) was a MIC Fernando HSS strat.  It was bundled with a cheapo amp then, for about 5900 bucks.  Can't really complain about the price, but honestly it wasn't that inspiring.

The guitar felt good to play, the weight was just right, not a lot of fret buzz even if you lower the action... but the pickups were awful.  muddy and weak.  No twang to speak of, and the humbucker didn't have anything to offer.

Still, I feel bad about letting it go so soon.  Would have made for a nice project guitar

I also have a fernando unique series strat.  :-) its a good buy bro, but be careful to choosing the right one! It took me like a week before I decided! haha. The employees were probably tired of seeing my face cause for that whole week I would just go there (malapit lang kasi bahay ko hehe), play the guitar and then leave hahaha. But it was all worth it in the end. :-D

the fernando strat and suzuki strat feels good. but u cant use it for metal unless you change pickups. maganda sound nya pang poprock and grunge.

here's my rating:
wood/neck/body: 9
pickups: 6
hardware/bridge/tuners: 8

tumaas price nya ng 200-300 depende sa mall

maghanda ka 4k , may sukli pa un

from 1 to 10 - id give it a 6.. wherein CHEAP LOCAL GUITARS are 2.5 and a Squier would have a 7.5

-Cons, good construction... nice balance...

-Pro, some fret buzz, bridge pickup is noisy and has somekind of resonance, (tested 3 strats already), needs MAJOR setup, did i mention this guitar has weak pickups? also expect the tuners to be stiff for sometime..

Fernando unique series user for almost 2 years, together with my Ibby's Washburns and Squiers ..(poorman  :-D )

check out my vid (Shameless )

Did you get the chance to try it? I'm guessing it will be ok, but would need some hardware upgrade soon. Usually kasi pag ganyan, medyo hindi masyadong ok ang machine heads as sell as the bridge and nut. I think the same goes for RJ within that price range.

Are you just starting out on the guitar? If so, pwede na 'yan (emphasis on "pwede na").

OBJECTIVELY speaking, I'd rather buy a P7k++ Squier. I tested a couple of MIC Fernando strats at JB Music Park Square and they weren't very good quality in terms of sound saka yung "feel" ng pagkakagawa eh parang laruan. Pero yun nga, for P3,000++, pwede na.

Yung MIK Fernando guitars (Unique series), mas maganda kumpara sa MIC nila. Mga 2k++ more or less na lang naman ang idadagdag mo, yun na lang if you really want a Fernando. Mas masarap sa kamay saka mas disente yung tunog.

Me biniogay sakin na fernando unique strat ung friend ko..
Medyo lumang luma na. Sira na mga pots nya and it really needs some good setup.

So what i did was
1. change the pots to alpha and the pickguard kumupas na kasi ung kulay.. hahahaha
2. Fret leveling and truss rod adjustment
3. Set-up and intonation
4. Major cleaning

Mas trip ko pa siya gamitin ngayon kesa sa GRG270 ko..
Pero gaya nung sabi nung mga nag post sa taas di siya pwedeng mang metal.
Hahahahaha..

No, ive already tried a lot of guitars but not the fernando, since money is very important nowadays, my attention was really caught by its cheap price. :)

I got a Fernando Unique Series MIK Strat as my first guitar after a 5-year hiatus, haha, the staff at JB Trinoma were helpful naman. I asked to try out all the black strats they had and wala naman complaints. Tagal ko rin nandun and I really think I walked out with a good one. Pretty satisfied with it stock, although I am eyeing pickup replacements, I wanna make it sound more harsh (is that the proper term? I mean making it sound like an Ibanez)

I'm not that OC with branding or whatever since it'll be my guitar for the occasional jam with the college band (studies parin take the forefront).
