Kahit saan naman makakabili ka. I swore off Western Digital though. I think Maxtor is okay. But I've always been a loyal Seagate fan.

I recently bought two 750 gig SATA drives from Amazon (a lot cheaper). I wanted to buy the terabyte, but I know it will drive me crazier if anything happened to my disks (not that it won't do that now ...)

So far, so good naman. My PC is definitely approaching its 2TB mark, and muka namang walang problema.

(But then again, I haven't had it for a long time. I'll repost here if anything untoward happens)

I take it you haven't used Ultimate Defrag, ordinary defrag just doesn't cut it for me. 10k rpm disks are usually raptors - very hot and noisy critters; 7200 is still the norm for most HDs. Dunno what you mean by mram...that's new to me. For a while there I thought you meant rdram.

That question will give me nightmares for the entire week. I will not justify that with an answer!

Mga high quality photos ni Jim, work stuff, video training tutorials, etc. Very minimal MP3s, though.

First make sure if you're buying IDE or SATA. Some older motherboards do not have SATA connections. If buying IDE, you can either connect the new HD to the same IDE ribbon cable, just make sure the new drive is set to slave. If connecting to the second IDE channel (IDE 1), make sure you have the appropriate IDE ribbon cable (80 conductor UDMA).

If you have SATA connections, buy the appropriate drive and connect. You might have to activate the SATA port in BIOS.

You will be asked to format the new drive. Just make sure you format the correct drive instead of your old Samsung.

It's a Seagate SATA 80g Barracuda .. :-(

Ganito po nangyari ... pag-pasok ko ng office, in-on ko yun pc then bumukas cya for a few mins, tpos tumigil cya kusa, nag-blue screen muna cya, tpos nag-restart on it's own and hindi na niya ma-detect yun bootdisk — w/c is, the said HDD ...

Anybody here knows where I could get help on this ... very important po talaga ...

subukan mo tangalin  yung koneksiyon sa sata wire sa iyong hard disk tapos kabit mo uli baka sakali mag work uli siya.
