hmmm.....my ipod video has 30gb....
it uses this kind of harddrive....

would it be possible to replace the harddrive with the new 80gb harddrive found in the new ipod classic since 80gb classic is more or less same thickness as the 30gb video?
here's a pic of the 80gb harddrive from the new ipod classic..

^^^ Hmmm, I think yung naka-lagay sa caution na "Do not disassemble, mdify or repair" seals the deal for me.
Pero, malay mo, magagaling ang Pinoy eh. Balitaan mo ako ha? Bibili din kasi ako ng 30gig na iPod eh :-D :-D :-D

...since 80gb classic is more or less same thickness as the 30gb video...
and what will you do when you open your ipod and find out that the drive won't fit, and you can't assemble it again, i wonder? :-)

@kurt ~ well....nakasulat dun sa plastic ng ipods whenever u buy a new one...do not steal music....pero karamihan saten malakas mag download dba? same issue with dissassemble and repair....syempre repair or upgrade beats buying a new one..

http://www.command-tab.com/2007/03/11/upgrading-ipod-hard-drives/
and i think its possible to upgrade video 30gb using classic's 80gb HD assuming na 5mm rin yung HD ng 80gb classic...ZIF connection gamit nila so compatible ata... hehe but i still have to wait for people to start selling 80gb toshiba mk8022gaa replacement harddrives

my point is, ipods' parts are meant to be updated. so the motherboards of ipods could handle harddisks with larger capacities

Pwede yan I think.. nagbabaklas din ako ng iPOD.. siguro kailangan mo humanap ng mas makapal na backplate (to accommodate the hard drive) and new battery na rin para sulit..

i dont think kelangan na palitan backplate since kasintaba ata yung mga harddrives..
ipod video 30gb harddrive = 5mm
ipod CLASSIC (yung bago) 80gb harddrive = 5mm

Go go go na!
