ISO is an image file ready for burning. Load it up in Nero or whatever burner software you have, then burn to disc. If you need a free image burner, try ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/).

depending on your version of nero.

recorder > burn image > select .iso file from harddrive then burn.
after burning, eject cd then reinsert then check in windows explorer if you can see the files on the cd.

or yung gamit ko DAEMONTools.

mga virtual drive softwares yun. bale ima-mount mo dun sa "virtual" CD drive yung .iso file, at same effect yun as inserting a CD in a real cd-rom  :-)

nobody's listening to me! you didn't need to burn your .iso movie files in order to watch it. all you had to do was download a virtual drive software.

the virtual drive software creates a pseudo "virtual CD-ROM" in your hard-disk. when you "mount" or "insert" the .iso files in the virtual CD-ROM, it has the same effect of putting a real CD in a real CD-ROM.

so without the hassle of extracting the files from the .iso file via MagicISO, in 2 or 3 clicks of the mouse, you already have access inside the .iso file via the virtual drive.

...or do you know all this already?

the virtual drive software creates a pseudo "virtual CD-ROM" in your hard-disk. when you "mount" or "insert" the .iso files in the virtual CD-ROM, it has the same effect of putting a real CD in a real CD-ROM.

The virtual cdrom is ok but there are some cases where the virtual drive blocks off part of your ram (a la ramdrive). This is ok if the .iso is smaller that you available ram, though not always so since you have to allot ram for the os and your apps and TSRs. Anything larger than your available ram and the virtual drive should allot space from your HD.

The problem I had with some .iso was the path of the files are sometimes fixed to a particular cd drive, for ex. path=d:\xxxxx, not intelligent enough that the path would be adaptive. In extreme cases, the path was fixed. I could have fixed the paths but why bother? I just burned the suckers to a cdrw or dvdrw.

Title: Re: help regarding .iso file type
Post by: marzi on October 11, 2007, 02:40:05 PM
