Oh that's a pain in the butt!
Locally I don't know who does that but for sure they can be recovered...
-
oo nga eh. sumasakit ang ulo ko.... deadlines! deadlines!!!!!

That's why it usually pays to have a backup... if you're using Seagate, I read somewhere that they have data recovery services. Check their Singapore office for accredited services here. Also try TipidPC (http://tipidpc.com/itemsearch.php?sec=s&namekeys=data+recovery).

You forgot the part about putting the HD in an airtight plastic bag along with some desiccant. Take care of moisture condensation on the HD because any water will practically kill the HD, on the platters, heads and circuit board. Also allow the HD to warm up to room temp gradually to avoid condensation. (Ginamit din namin 'tong procedure to revive a defective disk. It is supposed to free seized bearings. Use the procedure only if you don't hear the platters spinning.)
-
sorry to hear about that, jinno. that happened very recently to me too. had to redo several of my projects...
-
As long the HD is spinning you have the chance to recover your files. Try using software recovery software... check the web... Of course you have to remove your HD and plug to other computer.
-
ouch
-
i know a very efficient company who actually can recover files even from literally blasted government hard drives...
pretty expensive though
and its in the states...
drivesavers.com
i hope this helps
-

-
