im just wonderin how many forumites here is using vista OS! hehehe! what do you like or dont like about it?  8-)

anyways, i've recently installed vista ultimate edition (time cracked).. and its awesome! nice graphics, aero and glass feature!  :-D  btw, im runnin, E2160, 1gig RAM, ATI radeon 512mb graphics. just wanna know if its safe to turn on  automatic updates eventhough im using a time crack???  :? :? :?

i don't like Vista.

the switch from the "functional" Win98 to the "aesthetic" WinXP was enough, and eventually the XP grew on me.

but going a notch further and switching from XP to Vista is not cool for me. i mean, if i wanted a OS like that, with the heavy graphics and all, i'd get a mac. and i don't even like macs. i think vista eats too much memory than is really necessary for an OS, so there goes my ram!LOL

mukang marami talagang ayaw sa vista.. pero malay natin nung unang labas din ng XP dati ang dami kong nadinig na panget daw ganyan ganyan. pero wala din nakasanayan din..

darating din ang araw wala ng naka XP lahat na vista na. 3 years pa siguro hehehe..

very true! upon boot up, it eats, 50-60percent of my RAM, after 5-10mins of doing nothing, it goes down to 45percent. you can disable some of the startup programs that you dont need anyway.

time crack is a hack on vista wherein, it stops the 30day grace period built in on vista. you just run the time crack and voila! you can use vista without worrying that it will expire!  :-D lots of cool features as well! nice graphics. the downside of vista is driver/software incompatibility.. but thats about it! ENJOYING it!  :lol: 8-)

no errors dude!  :-D additional info on the time crack - its meant to alter the 30day trial period of vista.

30day trial period? - its a period wherein you need to put the "product key" before the 30day trial expires, or else, you wont be able to use most of its features.

vista ultimate costs what? 7k? 9k?   :-o

oo meron sakin nung side bar na may glass effect pati yung visual nya parang vista talaga pati yung sound. kuhuang kuha talaga. wala lang ako nung movie maker. hehe.

Yes, pero dual OS gamit ko, dami pa kasing programs na di gumagana sa Vista, lalo na yung P2P programs  :-D

Pero di nyo ba napapansin yung kulit ng windows vista? sobrang kulit kasi nyan pag magiinstall ka ng programs/hardware, unless alisin nyo yung "features" (or rather annoyances) na yun, which I did.

Specs ko: C2D E6400@3GHz, 2GB Team Xtreem 1066@1200 5-5-5-18, 8800GTX, 80GB maxtor yung pinaglalagyan ng Vista, nasa 250GB yung XP.

Isa pa palang problema, may time crack na trojan variant pag nadetect ng AVG (pero time crack talaga sya, tumitigil yung countdown), nilagay ko siya sa startup, na-mess up yung AVG antivirus ko sa Vista at ayaw na mag install, kaya reformat ako..

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate. I bought an OEM version during my last trip for $199. P26,000? Ang mahal naman ng benta dito! Anyway, it's been great so far. True, it's just a bit demanding on resources but if your system is prepared for it then you'll definitely enjoy your Vista experience. I'm running an Intel Q6600 on a 680i chipset mobo with 4GB DDR-2 RAM on 640MB DDR-3 GeForce 8800 GTS graphics.

Vista for me is fine... But still XP beats Vista in terms of resource requirement... I've used Vista Business, Home and Ultimate editions and all of them are really demanding in terms of resources... I think if you're gonna use Vista make sure that you have at least 2 GB of memory for you to use it in full potential...

Masarap naman po gamitin ang vista pagka namimit ung minimum requerment. Pero masmasarap pag ka recommended or exceeding ung specs. masarap din mag run ng mga games na mahirap patakbuhin sa xp and kumpleto sa native drivers and new drivers aswell. pero kung mejo mas sanay sa xp then xp padin ang the best. before naman lumabas ang xp. marami din ayaw ng xp at mas gusto ang 98se. pero ngayon xp na. well pag naglabas na sila ng bagong os then vista na ang recommended os. hehehe peace out

Mga Kapatid try nyo mag VORTEX, edited version sya ng vista. Pero halos xp lang ang kailangan mo na requirements, saka walang problem sa mga usb generic drivers. Halos lahat ng programs na pang xp, na ayaw gumana sa vista eh gumagana sa VORTEX.  8-)

As long as namimeet naman po ang requirements eh ok ang vista. marami pong ok sa vista lalo na sa drivers. complete po ang native drivers even some of the third party devices meron nang driver. and with the performance? dipende talaga san mo gagamitin ang computer. It's all ways how you use your system and ofcourse the reason for using it. :-D

ako nagvista dati.. ung ultimate.. pero tinanggal ko.. kxe bglang bumagal..
kahit pa 4.5 ang rating ko sa system. (sbe dun okay na daw ang 4.5)

naka 1g ram ako.. pentirum D,, 7600GS 256 mb,, pero parang ambagal sa vista..

kmpara sa xp na pag ganito ang specs mo.. huwaw. mabilis bilis :D hehe.. kaya balik vista.

vista kasi an daming arte.. sana gawin na lang nila ung itsura ng vista ilagay sa XP!

Madami pong mga factors why some systems slow down when using vista. mostly po napaka daming start up items and naka enable making the system slow.( Even XP systems experience this) Isa rin pong nagpapabagal eh yung services sa naka install sa system, services ay yung mga driver programs, installer programs na pang monitor ng system etch. isa rin po eh mga spywares ad ad wares na naka install the system, and even xp computers experience this. Minimum require ments po ng memory ng vista is 1 gig. It will run on 512 memories but expect the worst speeds. Now recommeded po talaga is 2 gig memory, 1 gig vid card and atleast 2.8 ghz for p4 systems or 1.8 ghz for core duo or core 2 duo.

gamit ko Vista Home Basic. Bumabagal nga siya. kahit 2.2ghz core 2 duo at 1 gig RAM. Balak ko nga mag-upgrade ng RAM to 2 gig. Para din ma-high settings ko na yung gears of war hehe...

Disable mo sir start up items mo. and anung video card memory mo?? if youre using a virus protection program just turn it off then just turn it on when your going to the internet or checking external storage devices e.g. flash drives, cd's, external drives, card memories, etch. it'll make your system faster

Vista is a great O.S. I love the new interface. With my old PC Intel Celeron 2.5Ghz, 512MB DDR400 RAM, 160GB Barracuda 7200RPM Segate Hard Drive (2x80Gb) and 128MB 128Bit GeForce4 MX Video Card it was very horrible. I ddint have the flip 3d with my vista ultimate and its really tourturing my pc at boot up. It takes around 15-20mins to finish booting and vista rated my pc at 1.0. I was able to build a new system last December with this spec: Pentium Dual-Core 2160 1.8Ghz Processor, 2GB DDR 667Mhz, 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10RPM SATAII Hard Drive, Asus P5-GCMX Motherboard, Palit 7300GT Pci-ex16 Video Card with 256MB Ram, LG-18X DVDRW, ASUS DVDROM, AOC 152V 15" LCD Monitor and ASUS Vento V8 Case with 500watts PS but I upgraded the PS with EKES 550watts PS. Installed additional 3 fans, 2 front for bring fresh air inside the case and 2 fans at the back for exhaust. Also installed Hardrive coolers and memory head spreader. Installed vista.... I only took 15mins, "WOW! I never seen any Windows OS from the past that can be installed for 15mins". With my new PC Vista finish booting with less than 1min. Now I can experience aero at full and vista rates my new pc at 5.0 in stock mode and in OC mode, Vista is in extreme mode. All you need to have a better Vista experience is a pc that more than vista capable. Kahit budget pc lang basta naka dual-core, 1GB DDR2 and Direct X 9.0c capable video card with atleast 128MB memory is enough for a better vista experience. :)

May original Vista Home Premium DVD nga ako pero di ko ginagamit free lang from where I work, kahit nga nung beta palang di ko na sinubukan pero sa office vista na gamit namin ok naman sya im thinking of installing it na nga tinatamad lang ako

I have tried Windows Vista eversince it was first publicly released last year... The graphics are cool and the new GUI's... The main problem is just, masyado syang malakas kumain ng memory... Not advisbale if you're running below 1GB RAM... :|
