Just wanna ask if sushi is good for those who are on a diet?

What diet can you recommend to people who want to lose/maintain weight  (breakfast, lunch and dinner) ?

corn flakes mixed with banana and low fat choco milk addict ako ngayon

its my power breakfast...

pagdating ko ng ofis nawala na yung gutom ko tsaka cravings kasi nakakain na ko ng matamis for breakfast...so lunch na lang...

pag lunch naman, half rice at ulam na kahit ano...pag may pork, iwas fats na lang...

same din sa dinner, minsan ulam na lang lalo na pag veggies wala ng kanin...

basta regular pa rin yung kain mo ok lang...

nga pala...wag yung sugar frosted na corn flakes ang bibilin mo kasi mataas ang sugar content nun...


yung plain lang na walang lasa ang bilin mo tapos yung choco milk na magpapatamis nun...


sa banana naman, kuha ka lang ng isang piraso tapos slice mo lang sabay lagay mo na sa corn flakes mo para isang kainan na lang...


nakakaramdam na ko ng pagkawala ng bigat sa katawan ko...pero 2 months pa ulit bago ako tumingin sa weighing scale e...para malaman ko kung malaki ang improvement ko...

di naman pre...may nabibili kasi ako sa megamall(MagicTime yung brand) na 98 pesos ang isang box...good na sya for 10 days depende sa dami ng serving mo every morning...yung banana naman...well, madalas kasi ako kumain ng banana kaya 3 days lang bibili na uli ako ng isang piging(yun ba tawag dun?)

so kung bibili ka ng isang box ng MagicTime cornflakes ang katumbas nun ay 2 boxes ng chocolate milk drink at 2 piging ng saging(yung saging ay depende pa rin kung gaano kadalas ang pag consume mo sa isang araw, pag tinatamaan kasi ako ng gutom, yan ang kinakain ko), at good na sya for 10 days...

pede din yang oatmeal, lagyan mo na lang ng Milo tsaka Equal sweetener para hindi olats ang lasa...problema lang jan, 10 mins ang preparation time...mainit pa kaya magdagdag ka pa ng 3mins...e pano kung nagmamadali ka...sa corn flakes 2 minutes lang ang preparation tapos 5 mins lang ang kain time...

masarap naman ang oatmeal ng walang halo ah.. acquired taste lang yan parang beer... yung taho dati kadiri ng walang arnibal pero ngayon natatamisan nako masyado mas ok na ung konting tamis nalang, para di din sayang ang workout natin bawas/iwan matamis nalang. malakas makataba ang asukal. :-)

Anyways, meron pa kong questions...pinasaya ko lang ng konti, eto:

1) Ano bang masarap sa Chicken breast eh wala namang nipples?  :lol:
Kidding aside, bakit yun ang napapansin kong madalas na i-advise na kainin sa mga nag w-workout? Lean beef, ok ba?

2) Ok bang kumain between meals ng whole-wheat bread? Di ba nakakataba yung mga tinapay? Eh yung noodles?

3) Advisable ba na magpa-massage pag nananakit ang katawan matapos mag gym? Hindi ba nakakalamog ng muscles yun?

whole wheat bread e ok naman kasi puro grains yun eh...good for flushing out toxins sa katawan...at sa pagkakaalam ko, mejo mababa ang carbo content nya kesa ordinary bread...

massage? errr...never tried that after magbuhat e...bigyan mo na lang kami ng feedback kung ano nangyari sayo hehehee....

Almonds and other nuts
Beans and other legumes
Spinach and other green veggies

Dairy (fat free or low fat)
Instant unsweetened oatmeal
Eggs
Turkey and other lean meat

Peanut butter
Olive oil
Whole-grain bread and cereal
Extra protein from whey powder
Raspberries and other berries


Incorporate 3-4 items in your meal and you're on your way.

Honga pala, you have to eat in increments. 6 times a day.

Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner

Di ba nakakataba ang yogurt pag madalas? Nakaka 3 to 4 cups kasi ako sa isang araw, bale yun ang pinaka meal ko kasabay ng prutas o whole wheat bread... :|

yoghurt as long as its nonfat, is ok

pag  marami kasing sugar eh nagiging fat deposits din.

Yoghurt actually helps in digestion as well as burning fat, since it has a small percentage of whey. Whey is a protein amino acid that supports muscle build up and having muscles burns fat.

me calculation na rin ako dun sa dating thread.

1 lb. of muscle burns an extra 50 calories/day.

you can try this. for breakfast, get the cereal with granola. instead of using milk, mix in the yoghurt with your cereal. freaking awesome.

pecans and yoghurt, darn good combo.

I'm and advocate of Menshealth and their nutrionists and experts are great. I like the idea that I'm not dieting, just actually a change of lifestyle and clean eating.

If you go to the menshealth forums. There's this topic about the "52 week challenge". If you follow it, you'll never go back to your old habits.

Also they have the "TNT" diet/challenge (I forgot which one diet or challenge). It awesome. You never go hungry and you build up muscle in a matter of a couple of weeks.

You feel the change agad, kasi your pants are falling off, hehe.

Well congrats sa sarili ko, at salamat sa inyong lahat!!..hehe.. Anlaki na ng nabawas sa timbang ko. Yuhoooo!  

Last November 10 nasa 70 kg ang bigat ko, tapos kahapon nag check ako, nasa 67.5 kg nlang ako!  Woooohoooo!!!

Yung sinturon ko na dati nasa ikalawang butas nakasalpak yung lock, ngayon nasa ika-lima na! Whooohohohooo!!  :lol:

hehehe!


Tanong pa ulit, anong magandang gamot sa pagkahilo?   :-P  :lol:  :lol:

Ok, seryoso, nalulula ako pag bumababa ako sa threadmill, natural lang yun diba?

Saka yung unang 5 to 15 minutes kong jogging para akong inaantok..di kaya dahil 6pm ako nag g-gym - weakest period daw ng tao yun sa loob ng 24 hours..?  Pero pag naka 20 minutes na 'ko mag jogging sa threadmill, ok na -kaya ko nang tumakbo ng 45 to 50 minutes sa bilis na 6.5 to  7.9


Eto pa; Ok lang ba yung patatas at kamoteng pula sa nag d-diet? o nakakataba yun?

 :-D  Panay nga kain ko ng dalandan eh. Dalandan at saging saka yoghurt sa umaga, garden salad sa tanghali, chicken breast soup sa gabi (pero dapat sa umaga 'to diba, kasi mas heavy ng konti?)

Ayos din mag diet, test for self-discipline talaga. Bukod sa nagkakaroon ka ng sense of pride sa maliliit na achievements sa sarili mo, tipid pa sa gastusan sa pagkain.  :lol:

Sali na kayo hanggat maaga! Ano ba naman yung kahit 1 pound isang buwan lang ang mabawas -malaking achievement na din yun! Kesa walang ginawa para sa kalusugan ng sarili, diba? ...dapat nga noon ko pa ginawa 'to eh.  :wink:

hindi ka ba hinihimatay nyan sa lagay na yan?

that means you lose about 2-3 gallons of water sa katawan mo if you lose that much. that's not very healthy.

1 lb. a week is the ideal weight loss. 2 lbs. a day, even 1 lb. a day, is dangerous.

with the guidance of georgy porgey, i was then 220lbs . ngyn 175lbs na and im still on it! sobrang gumaan ang feeling ko and less cranky nako ngyn.

Pre, para na nga akong uod dahil ang kinakain ko dalandan at saging saka yoghurt sa umaga; sa tanghali naman yoghurt, saging at dalandan; sa gabi orange, yoghurt & banana.  :-P  :lol: ..napasubo lang ako kanina sa kanin kasi may nagyaya saking babae na mag lunch, kaya gulay at mushroom ang binanatan ko, bukod sa kanin.....kaya feeling ko ngayon parang gusto ko nang gumapang sa puno eh.. :lol:

fruits are good, pero kung puro fruit lang, walang protein. you need protein to build muscle.

mayonnaise #1 kalaban.

Use balsamic vinegar instead. Para naman sa sandwich kung gusto mong moist sya, use mustard instead. Honey mustard is ok.

it has a lot of trans fat and sat fat.

i don't like mayo, so i might be biased too.

go for the lite mayo. use about 1 tbsp. on sandwiches.

for salad just use balsamic vinegar, or the non fat dressings. don't make your salad into a soup (meaning making your salad swim in dressing).

Its ok asking this stuff to me. I'm doing my own regimen right now. Nawala ako sa gym ng 4 months. You guys asking me about health stuff, helps me with my routine.

ika nga "Practice what you Preach".

Parang focus group na rin. I've read a lot of health books and I have been a part time fitness coach back in the day. I've never done any of the fad diets. Alam ko na kasi what works for me and my body type.

Bamm, ano ba body type mo? Mesomorph, Ectomorph or Endomorph?

Carbs are very complex. I eat a fair amount of carbs before I work out. (an hour before or so). It burns easily and fast. Ang problema sa carbs pag hindi mo na-burn, nagiging starch and starch turns into sugar which then helps store fat cells (arghh).

Oo nga pala drinking alcoholic drinks is also a no no, if you want to lose weight. Kahit ano, no exceptions. Alcohol kasi is a toxin. So uunahin i-process to ng body natin, most likely the liver. Yung food na kinain natin habang umiinom, hindi napa-process, so it becomes fat (another arghh).

If you like rice, eat brown rice. If you love bread get the "Whole Grain".

Anything whole grain has lots of fiber and helps in digestion.

I don't like the low carb diet which you find the 'glycemic index' or carbohydrates. You stay away from the highest index and take in the lowest ones. Its tedious and boring. 

Pag madali kang magutom, eat nuts. lots of it. Its ok. Wag lang yung masyadong maraming asin. Almonds and cashews are two of the best. Pecans however is on the top, kasi it has natural antioxidants and you can add this to your salad for the crunch that you're looking for.

Oo nga pala, para mas maganda sa katawan, I prefer the garden mix (spinach, lettuce and leafy greans). Kasi pag Caesar mix, maraming cabbage (it expands your stomach - eto ang kinakain ng mga sumasali sa Food eating contests like Kobayashi). Though its not fattening (I just don't like Caesar's salad, its boring).

Flax seed also helps.

Wheat nga pala, when stored turns into yeast, to starch and so on.....

Alam mo merong alternative sa kamote, Yung alam natin na kamote pag kinain natin, spikes up the sugar level sa katawan natin. Merong yung maliliit na kamote. That's good too. Don't fry it though.

Boil or steam. Then add spices you love, with minimum salt.

If you can't eat a lot, satisfy your cravings with 'flavor' instead.

Somewhere between meso and endomorph ang type ng katawan ko, pre. Wala nman sa lahi namin yung tabachoy talaga. Tabang alak at kulang sa exercise lang naman yung fats ko.
Actually, nasa 28" to 29" na bewang ko ngayon, di gaya nung 2 months ago na nasa 32-33". Pero medyo bondat pa din yung tyan dahil nga sa alak at lakas kumain noon. Medyo wala na din yung man-boobs ko, kelangan ko lang tunawin yung mga sobrang love handles para maging flat nang tuluyan yung tummy ko, hehehe..

Pano ba gagawin ko sa gym, kelangan ko bang tunawin muna lahat ng fats ko hanggang maging underweight ako, tapos mag buhat ako para madagdagan ng timbang thru muscle development o  sundutan ko na agad ng buhat after cardio?

May tip ka ba sa pag gamit ng treadmill? Napapagod lang paa ko pero di naman ako masyadong hinihingal at pinapawisan..Dun ako nag uubos ng oras, tapos pinaka pahinga ko naman yung mag buhat ng weights.
Average na takbo ko per session is around 45 minutes, may mga 5 to 10 minutes na lakad in between so more than an hour ako nasa treadmill nang tuloy-tuloy.
Pero gusto ko pa sana mas matagal, mga dalawang ulit kaya lang napapagod na yung binti saka hita ko, pati paa.
Kelangan ko bang hingalin o pagpawisan ng husto? Malamig na dito kaya ang hirap magpa-pawis ngayon eh... :|

Ok bang magconcentrate sa seafoods/whitemeat kasabay ng fruits & vegs imbes na pork, beef at chicken? Bukod sa tuna na de lata ano pa magandang kainin na hindi mahirap i-prepare?

just eat sensibly, no math, no calorie counting, just eat sensible.

lamang loob - well if you don't have gout in your family line, go ahead. plus its cholesterol central.

bamm, I assume you know a little about the foods you eat, kasi you seem to be asking obvious things na.

don't worry too much. eat in small portions. eat throughout the day.

simple.....right?

Me nakalimutan nga pala akong sabihin dati.

You can stick to your diet all week long. Pero, you have to have one cheat day.

Isang araw lang every week, you're allowed to eat all your favorite foods. Stuff your face all you want. Pero just one day.

You also have to pick the day, so eto ang lagi mong cheat day. I stick to my diet from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I cheat on Friday, then diet again on Satuday, Sunday......so on....

The science is that, it tricks your metabolism. It puts your body into shock, that it didn't know that you hit it with tons of calories in one boost. Then maintain regular programming the whole week. It will work double time.

I read about this guy on the Belly Off club sa menshealth. He is about 6 feet, 300+ lbs. In 8 months he was down to 195 and very muscular, using the 1 day cheat. (part of the TNT diet).

Just another thought.

turkey meatballs (6 pcs.)

calories: 485
Sodium: 333.5
carbs: 45 g
protein : 46

how's that

add cayenne pepper or black ground pepper for more flavor.

no rice ok.

I just made this for lunch today, hehe. so healthy and it only takes about 10 mins. to prepare, 10 minutes to cook.

eto pre worked for me, solb na salad na busog. mustard, canola oil, salt ,pepper, asin saka suka. haluin mo lagay mo sa lichugas. solb. busog ka kahit konti kainin mo. pag di mo gusto tamang tiis lang pero masarap para sakin. works to pre. italian dietary dressing

i tried hydroxycut hardcore, maganda pang-burn ng fats to basta sasabayan mo ng cardio. yung lipo-6 maganda din. ingat lang sa oras ng pag-inom, sobrang tapang ng hydroxycut, hindi ka makakatulog pag medyo late mo nainom. dapat mga 6 hours bago ka matulog uminom ka na.

Hydroxycut was good when it was first released. Yung bago ngayon eh puro caffeine lang, walang kwenta, sayang lang ang pera mo.

There's a set of supplements you can take that works and you don't get jittery or sleepless, or restless, but it takes a little longer compared to ephedra. (well a lot longer, but its healthy enough)

Im on this process ngay0n kasi ang laki talaga ng tinaba ko because of the prescribed med im taking..haist..

5 spoons of rice lang ako each meal but i have crackers in between..ulcer naman kasi aabutin ko pag matagal nawalan ng f0od st0mach ko..hehe..kaso nasisira routine ko pag masarap at favorite ko ang ulam..haha..

diet talaga ang importante sa lahat. baka mas lalo kang lumaki sa creatine. mag fat burners ka na lang or whey protein makakatulong yun. kung gusto mo mapabilis wag ka muna mag white rice, fatty, sweets, salty foods etc... puro high fiber ang kainin mo.  :-)

From 75 kg, now i'm 61kg. binawasan ko lng ang calorie intake ko, wala naring sugar for my drinks. now i'm trying to lose belly fats and i'm just having fruit shake with oatmeal in the evening and of course, don't forget to exercise regularly

in three weeks i lost 15lbs.. nag herbalife ako..shakes to substitute meals..80 calories lang..twice a day..so morning and evening shake lang..tapos sa lunch, kain ng normal..tpos after lunch, heavy cardio..try high intensity interval training..do it for 30 mins..

I've lost 30lbs since June. Not taking any thing special, no magic pill or supplements, just lowered my carb & calorie intake. Plus heavy cardio 5-6 times a week, 20-30 mins per day lang. I really don't believe in taking anything to lose weight; much better to do it the old fashioned way, through hard work. Those "lose xx pounds in 3 weeks" you see on tv are misleading or flat-out lying, healthy fat loss is 1-2 lbs per week. More than that and it's just water weight.
