Title: Help Tips for a First Time Drummer

hello po mga sir, im a first time drummer po for an alternative metal band po. gusto ko lang po humingi ng tips po, kasi first time ko po tutugtog as drummer. since this is my first ano po ba ang mga dapat tandaan? thanks po. but this is not my first time to be in a gig dati po kasi akong guitarist and vocals eh...tips lang po. thanks po

yung sakin nung first time. nahirapan ako pag hindi ko kabisado yung kanta. sa covers yun. mas maganda kabisado mo lahat  pati mga pasok. para hindi nangangapa. pati yung mga bilang.  tska relax lang at enjoy siyempre :)

Tip ko sa'yo tutal baguhan ka sa pag d-drums,..

1) Basahin mo yung mga sticky sa taas, ie. Pinoydrums forum guidelines.

2) Maghalungkat ka ng mga lumang threads dito. -Yan ang pinaka 'rudiments' ng Pinoydrums, hehehe...dami info jan, bro.

3) Kung may additional question ka tungkol sa isang topic ng isang thread -kahit luma na- post mo lang dun para ma update. Tiyak may sasagot dun.
 
4) Kung meron kang specific na tanong na wala pa dito sa forum, saka ka mag open ng bagong thread.

Madali lang, diba? Happy Drumming!  :-)

never give up...makukuha mo yan through praktis, kahit gaano pa yan kahirap. and lastly, love it...spend time with your kit, be creative. yun lang bro.

palagi mo panuorin yung ibang drummer na nakakasabay mo sa gig...may mapupulot ka sa kanila.... :-D :-D :-D

IMO... I think you should first find the best and most comfortable kit setup.. expecially the drum distances and the height of your throne... I believe that as long as you're comfortable with your kit you can do anything.

Another is.. keep listening to as much music as you can, in your case metal right? then listen to many metal songs and different bands... or even non-metal songs pakinggan mo.. and be patient... drumming cannot be something you're good at overnight... just keep telling yourself "kung kaya niya... kaya ko rin!"

Relax lang... Yun napapansin ko sa mga first time drummer (kahit ako dati hanggang ngayon :-D), tensed sila lagi pag pumapalo. Loosen your wrists/ankles, be confident na alam mo yung gagawin mo para relax ka lang talaga. Hindi maganda kalalabasan ng mga grooves/chops pag hindi ka relax, at isa pa, swabe panoorin ang drummer na relaxed. :-)

Have direction in your learning routines.

So easy to say but so hard to do. I myself am guilty here kaya hindi pa rin ako nag iimoprove  :|

practice. lahat ng mga pattern magsimula ka sa dahan dahan. trust me, onti onting bibilis yung mga palo with continuous practice. coordination lang yan. :-)

get a practice pad, metronome, and sticks. Practice stickings kahit 1 hour daily.  Dyan madedevelop ang stick control
