Remember the band whose songs are are mostly used as OST in the movies?... The New Miserable Experience album which is a hit during their days in the mainstream.. The cool solos from their lead guitarist.. The lyrics form their songs, their tunes,... :-)
Gin Blossoms, another great band in the 90's era... :-)

wow coincidence ba toh? kasi inaaral ng banda ko ngyn na kanta ung hey jealousy at till i hear it from you, na recently ko lng narediscover hahaha galing ng band nato! asteg pa ung on stage antics haha

and actually talented lahat ng members nila...me mga kanta cla na parang country rock...MEMPHIS TIME yung title..tas yung iba alt.rock talagang PANG LSS yung mga kanta nila...

kabibili ko lang ng dvd ng concert and mtvs nila last week. the original lead guitarist who c-wrote "hey jealousy" commited suicide even before the band made it big back in 1993.

I'd rather listen to the gin blossoms, than those commercial bands named the goo goo dolls and matchbox20, their stuff are freakin' boring.

yun yung TEMPLE OF THE DOG which soon turned to PEARL JAM nung umalis si CHRIS CORNELL at naging frontman si EDDIE VEDDER...sumama si MATT CAMERON (Drummer sa TEMPLE OF THE DOG) sa SOUNDGARDEN tapos bumalik sa PEARL JAM... :-)

hindi pa ako marunong magitara nang mapakinggan ko tong gin blossoms sa cassette tape ng pinsan ko.... sabi ko wow ganda naman ng mga songs. tpos yung medyo natuto ako mag gitar gin blossoms agad and ini-strum ko, hehe... pati nga yung maid namin nagustuhan yung album nilang "congratulations im' sorry" na hanggang ngayon hindi pa nya binabalik yung tape ng pinsan ko hehe :-D
lately lang dinowload ko yung acoustic version ng as long as it matters... relaxing :-)

D best talaga ang Blossoms kc kahit yung mga pamangkin ko na ngayon palang ngStart ng banda nakakarelate sila sa mga kanta at gumagawa din sila ng cover nila...lalo na yung "hey jealousy" .... :-D

gin blossom music is like country song na may pagkaalternative..
mismo check nio yung memphis time nilang song sa album na congratulation sorry! tsaka found out about you... hayy sarap reminisce ng gin blossoms dami ko na hook up na bebot dahil sa pag cover ng kanta nila nung highschool kami 8-) competition smile,follw you down, as long as it matters tsaka till i hear it from you mismo!

Im glad i ran into this thread i remembered my high school days yep magaling tong bandang to.Ive been listening to them from new miserable experience tska congratulations im sorry kahit uso pa metallica nun!wehehe.Underated at their time.most people i know dont know them.unless you say yung kumanta ng ''hey jealousy''

their first lead guitarist who wrote Hey Jealousy was Doug Hopkins, may alcohol problem sya that's why he was fired out of the band, i think he's supposed to be one of the 27 Club (rockstars who died at 27, hendrix, janis, jim, kurt,shannon..), it happens that hindi pa popular yung Gin Blossoms when he departed...

One of my personal fave from the 90's. I agree with the early posters that they sound like country-ish na alternative. They write catchy tunes na masarap pakinggan.

Patutgtugin nyo lahat ng albums nila (kasama ang No Chocolate Cake) habang nagmamaneho pa-Tagaytay.. swabe :D
One of the best concerts na napuntahan ko this year ^^, all-music, no-flair affair (tsaka grabe nostalgia).
