Actually SLI and Crossfire uses 2 physical videocards each working on different sections of the screen thus sharing work load on 2 different GPUs

magipon kayo for an nvidia 8800 wag nakayo bibili below 8600 kasi once starcraft2 comes out magsisisi kayo na ndi kayo nag invest sa vidcard ninyo...

- and ayos din ang sli and crossfire na mga vidcards.. pero ma hahassle pa kayo sa pag bili ng dalawang vid card non and mas mapapamahal pa kayo dahil sure ball palit kayo ng motherboard, powersupply, casing...

- try to beef up your memory to atleast 2gigs din...

^ well depende kasi kung ano size ng monitor mo... kapag 19" ka lang at ang screen resolution mo ay 1440x900... pede ka na makapaglaro na high settings gamit Ati Radeon 3870 or 4850 kung nvidia gusto mo kunin mo is yun Nvidia 9800GT...

pero kung ang monitor mo ay 22" pataas with a screen resolution of 1680x1050 or higher at may pera ka na pang gastos... hands down ang best buck for your money will be ATI 4870 (this is the one that i'm currently using) or 4870X2... kung nvidia gusto mo... hmm... i'll say just get 2 9800GT and put it in SLI configuration... pero take note dapat supported ng motherboard mo ang SLI meaning you need an nForce mobo na 780i or 790i... and btw you need a strong psu... ndi pede yung  mga generic na psu... tapos kung may pera ka talaga to spend and Nvidia talga ang gusto mo GTX280 ang kunin mo... but i highly recommend the ATI 4870x2 nalang instead of the gtx280 kasi mas mura siya and mas malakas siya kesa sa gtx280...  :-)

- i'll let you know how well the 2 9800GT's in SLI performs when i finish my nvidia system very very soon... pati kung gaano kalakas ang 2 4870's in Crossfire mode...  :-)

ANONG VIDEO CARD ANG SUPPORTED / COMPATIBLE SA LAHAT NG GAMES

:-)good day..  sa video card requirments para lahat ng games compatible.. try to look for a VGA with a "SHADER 3.0"
e2 po ang requirements sa mga games na matataas ang graphics.. also the most important is the interface and size of V-memory,..

sa ngayon ang pinaka mabilis na interface slot is PCI-E 16x. sa size syempre 512mb will do with 128bit,,

as for now.. meron ako recommended na VGA for all games..

try mo "ATI x1650 radeon PCI-E 512mb 128bit"
yan po requirments ng shop dito samin at subok na po.. for CABAL online games, Resident evil 4, devil may cry 4, most wanted, call  of duty. lahat po yan kaya nyang laruin ng smooth graphics because of the "SHADER 3.0" capabilities.

^ mejo bitin yung power ng vid card na yan if you wanna play games in high settings... but on a really tight budget ok na siya... lalo na if you're a casual gamer... meaning you'll just play the sims, spore etc....

may 7600gt ako and at par sila ng performance ng x1650... well you can play games alright... pero more on low settings - medium... rarely ka makakalaro on high settings lalo na sa mga bagong games like crysis etc... sa mga 2-4 years old na games ayos lang siya kaya nya high settings...

imo it's still better that you save up a little more and get yourself a 9800gt or an ati 3850 or higher... you'll be amazed how great the games look...

once ma experience mo na to play on high or ultra high settings lahat sa games  lalo na yung mga bagong release na games dun mo lang makikita kung gaano kalaki yung difference ng low end - midrange card at yung highend cards...

tutuo po sir.. yung x1650 para lang sa budget. yung GT nyo talagang mataas na yan.. kasi it has a faster ddr memory kaysa x1650 and has a upgraded GPU.

pero if you ask me tama si sir,. why not save your money for the GT series.. yan naman talaga ang ginagamit na ngayon. good music everyday...

^ the 7600gt and the x1650 pareho talga sila ng kayang gawin... if you put both on a same spec pc... they'll be at par at each other... sa games lang siguro sila magkakatalo... kasi some games run better at nvidia some games run better on ati...

mejo ma arte talga ako when it comes to the performance and sa kayang maproduce na grafix ng pc ko... mas masarap talga mag laro ng games atleast sa medium settings... parang kasi kulang yung graphics pag low yung settings... and mejo naiirita ako when i see like pixelated edges... hehe! i still prefer playing sa pc kesa sa console/s ang laki talga ng difference niya sa grafix lalo na when you're playing on a 22" or higher na monitor...

and for future-proofing nadin kaya i always recommend to buy the higher-midrange or the high-end stuff... it can last you for 4 years pa... tapos mas ok talga to get the HD Series ATI or the Nvidia 8xxx or 9xxx series (9800GT to be exact actually the 9800GTX+ is ok rin take note of the "+") or GTX cards kasi in the long run pag nahihirapan na siya sa games you can always add in a second card and put it in crossfire or sli configuration or sa nvidia a 3rd card is possible... but on ati you can use 2 pero pede quad crossfire just get the X2 models...

pati i usually recommend yung mga meron ako or nagamit ko na or nakita ko na personally yung performance... kasi nakakahiya naman na pag nag recommend ako tapos panget pala...

ito pa pala add ko din... i noticed that the ati cards are better at higher resolutions 1680x1050 or higher ang smooth ng frame rates niya kesa sa lower resolutions i have no idea why but yun yung napansin ko... specifically the 4870... but i'm not saying na panget siya sa lower resolutions maganda padin of course you'll lose 4 or so frames sa lower resolutions... but i'm not saying nvidia is poor at higher resolutions... maganda sila pareho... just choose the right model for you...  :-)

Kung ATI: ________?
Kung NVIDIA: _______?

To play HD you need a card that can output HD. Try the HD2600 series of ATI. A card with SM3.0 will allow you to play "all" games but it isn't the determinant to play games smoothly. Frame rate still depends on the power and speed of GPU and it's memory and the interface. Getting a 256-bit video card over a 128-bit spells a lot of performance edge. Majority of the games since 2007 are using SM2.0, I'm not sure if there's even a game out there that uses SM3.0. Far Cry 2 is the only game I can think of and it's not even out yet, it can be played using both shader models though.

I have an old system and it's fast enough to play 2005-2007 games. Athlon XP2600+, 1GB 400Mhz RAM and Powercolor X1650Pro 512MB AGP. Keep your components balanced because you can't maximize a fast video card if the processor or the memory becomes a bottleneck. You could be paying more for a performance you expect to get but you can't since all the other parts are slower compared to the video card. Post your specs and we may be able to help you decide. The idea is to figure out matching components, and tip: if your getting an AMD based system then get an ATI card since it's one and the same company.

pag Nvidia ganito ang palatandaan...  from lower/slower/cheaper model to higher/faster/more expensive... this goes sa 7,8 at 9 series pati na sa GTX series...  LE, GS, GT, GT (OC),  GTS, GTX, GTX+ tapos pag may Ultra ibigsabihin yun na yung highest.. tapos isang model lang naman yung may GX2 nila.. which is the 9800 GX2 dalawang card lang yun na pinagkabit sa isa... tapos... mag vavary nalang yan sa kung gaano kadaming ram ang meron at kung gaano kabilis ang core...

tapos to answer your question directly... the 7600GT is faster than the 7600GS...

oh okay. thanks sir!
another question, enough na ba sir tong gigabyte 7600gs para sa mga bagong games ngaun? o you think i should get an upgrade?

What size of monitor are you using or planning to buy? If its 19" or higher or those wide format monitors then get a better video card, probably Nvidia 8 series or Radeon HD 2 series. For 17" or smaller monitors you can get descent frame rates with 7600GS upto 1280x1024 resolution. This is the most commonly used resolution for most gamers according to statistics.

then i'll be sticking with my card then..
sa susunod pa siguro ako maguupgrade ng pc.. maybe next year.
still using a CRT monitor. hehe poor me.. >.<

Same here, 17"CRT! But I prioritize gameplay over graphics. For as long as it's running smoothly on medium setting 1024x768 I'm ok with that. I play mostly racing games and I have a MOMO wheel. You hardly notice graphics since you'll be busy with accurate and responsive controls! I also have a Logitech Rumblepad 2 for action/adventure titles. So it also depends on the titles you play, of course if you're fond of shooters then the games are a bit more demanding in terms of resource. I'll be keeping this PC for RTS games and I think this will be my last build, I'm getting consoles for gaming next year.

For me, ang batayan ng magandang video card is in its GPU memory (DDR2, GDDR3)

-look for direct X 10 capable video cards

Tingnan niyo na lng tong link na to:

For ATI Chipsets- http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/131 (http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/131)
For Nvidia Chipsets - http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/132 (http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/132)

Hope that helps!

I agree try to get a card with a 256bit memory interface or better.

but real world performance is the best way to guage GPU performance. try to look for reviews and benchmarksof the cards using the games u would probably play. some of these gards look very good on paper but fail to produce good results in the real world

not lang

ive seen a price drop on the geforce 9800GX2 14k nakang yata (please verify, im no sure) ideal to sa mga gustong mag SLI pero walang pang bili ng SLI na board, it uses 2 9800 series cards  put together and only uses 1 PCI-E slot. this can definitly play any game at the highest with full anti-aliasing with 60+ FPS ( or in the case of crysis near the highest at around 40). (pesonaly tested using FRAPS)

But If your looking for a single GPU solutiongo for the Geforce GTX 280, 512bit memory interface, reviews say that this is the only single GPU solution that can bring crysis to its knees, kayalang its 22k+ (or more) pa yata so its out of the budget for most of us here.

including me

OK tong monitor na to, I just bought it a few weeks ago and wala akong masabi.

BTT
I currently have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 which I bought a few weeks ago and I have no complaints. Ive been playing on a native resolution of 1680x1050. even with anti aliasing games like Call of Duty 4, Devil May Cry and Unreal Tournament 3 have very smooth framerates. The ATI Radeon HD 4850 uses tha same chip the RV770 aside from a reduction in the core speed and the use of gddr3 instead of gddr5 its prettymuch the same product. and should give similar though a bit "lower" performance, but it doesnt mean your not getting a kick ass experience. since you said that you plan to get a smaller screen. this would be more than enough to run most games with blazing performance in your native resolution. in comparison you can get the performance of a 9800 GTX for less cost.

haha 4850 is great!been playing wioth my pc for about a week now, runs all my games great! on 1440x900 resolution
ra3, dmc4, assasins creed, cod5, nba2k9, fallout 3 all max settings! with max AA( 4 or 8, depends on availability)
crysis- cant say for sure since im using a config file/patch that emulates the ultra high setting but requires no AA becaue it enables the edge AA, looks great, plays great!
warhead and farcry- 1440x900 resolution 2xAA, high-ultra high setting, no lags!

I actually down graded to a 4850 cause I needed money but to be honest I don't see the difference on my 22" monitor. every thing feels the same as my 4870 the card I got has a factory over clock which may explain why, but still it looks like going beyond a stock 4850 on a 22" monitor is kinda overkill.
