it actually does help... ang laki ng difference when you use dual core or quad core... i edit 900-1200 photos in an average a day (nag mumulti-task pa ako ng todo non)... ang laki ng difference ng speed ng dual at quad... mas mabilis syempre sa quad core lalo na sa multi tasking... i will never use a sempron for photo editing or for work it'll drag your productivity big time...
but here's how everything gets interesting... if you use a 32bit application in a 64bit os dun magkakalokoloko ang productivity mo... just use xp and use 3 gigs of ram... then go atleast dual core to get the max productivity and efficiency in using adobe products...
if you're using vista 64bit... just create a dual boot for xp so you can still use your vista... what i do is i use xp as my work environment and i use vista64bit for gaming...
- as for macs... i don't like macs... hehe!

^ oo lupet ng nahalem mapapaaga yung release date nila... september nila lalabas yung 1st set of nahalem processors tapos x58 na motherboard ang magsusupport... kaso ang mahal mahal pa non... mga next year pa ok bumili non siguro mga 3rd or 4th quarter of next year kumpleto na yung nahalem intel processors... at by that time narelase nadin ng amd yung deneb nila na processors so sana malupet ang competition ng amd at intel para bumaba ang presyo for more happy consumers...

i made an intel based pc with an nvidia card... ndi ko mapagkasya sa budget pag yung ati na magagandang cards yung lalagay ko but i included it here padin just in case you want ati... so ikaw na pumili... pati i'm not sure what peripherals you have right now na pede mo ma reuse baka meron ka pa jan DVD burner, harddrive, keyboard, mouse etc... you can use that padin... the 1st half wag mo na palitan yan na yung pinaka maganda imo na makukuha mo sa price range na yan the 2nd half you can still pick kung alin ang gusto mo... i just gave you an idea of what's the best value for money...
btw i'm an enthusiast sa mga pc... hobby ko talga siya... :-)

malupit yung spider platform ng amd...
platform wise mas maganda ang complete amd spider platform...
well ano nga ba ang spider platform you ask?
well ito... may new technology ang amd na nilabas a few months ago... nilabas nila yung 780G at 790G nila na chipset sa mga mobo with Hybrid and CrossfireX... ano yung mga yun? bale ganito siya... yung platform na yun sobrang energy efficient... tapos may built in vidcard na siya if i'm not mistaken is an ATI HD3450... that alone is ok na pang nood ng hi-def movies na blu-ray and you can play games na pero don't expect to run yung mga Crysis at high detail jan... siguro you can play crysis at minimum settings... anyway... ito... ang astig sa chipset ng amd... when you add in a video card na ati the hybrid and crossfirex will be enabled... tapos usually kasi the onboard video is automatically disabled sa ibang mga mobos pag naglagay ka ng vidcard... pero sa kanya hindi niya didisable... wat it will do is enable the crossfireX tapos the video card will accelerate the onboard video card giving you more performance boost... pretty cool eh? tapos ito ang astig... the Hybrid... kasi yung mga high end vid card it sucks up a lot of power kahit na nagiinternet ka lang... eh you don't need that much processing power naman... so ang gagawin nung mobo is it detects if you'll need the vid card kung kunyari maglalaro ka ng games vid editing etc.. tapos pag ndi naman resource intense an gagawin mo it will automatically turn off the video card so ang gagamitin mo is the onboard video... whew! hehe astig noh? pati it's really cheap... kaso nga lang mejo mahal din ang Phenom ng AMD kasi it's all Native Quad Core... unlike the Intel Q6600 ndi siya native... meaning dalawang dual core na pinagkabit siya kaya nagin quad core... anyway...

^unahin ko muna quad cores... i don't personally have an AMD spider platform yet... pero my friend has one... we've played with it na and saw wat it can do... bale ang cons sa amd Phenom Quad Core is you have to install additional patches sa mga games kasi iba yung timing ng processor niya kesa sa intel... tapos when you don't install the patches (usually kasama na yun sa game when you buy it) ang na dedetect lang niya is Dual core nung quad core processor, it still performs very well though kahit hindi mo nagagamit yung extra 2 cores mo but ma eenable mo naman siya once you install the patches... we played Crysis, Company of Heroes, Call of Duty 4 etc... sa amd spider and maganda naman yung performance niya... in an average person's point of view it's really at par with Intel pero when you use numbers to compare the two may edge ang intel sa kanya kasi intel has more powerful processors... pero when it comes to a complete platform i like amd+ati more... cheaper, more energy efficient and great performance...
hindi naman ako fanboy of any brand kaya i use what's best out there sa price to performance ratio niya... i'm using Intel+Ati na System ko ngayon and it really works very well... superb perfromance pag pinaghalo mo silang dalawa...
sa Intel naman wala naman ako masasabi na cons performance wise ang con nalang sa kanya is the price... mejo mahal talaga siya...
now... sa dual core both dual core ng AMD at Intel is excelent... before ako mag upgrade to quadcore i was using an intel core 2 duo and AMD 64... wala silang difference gaano...
sa AMD ang napansin ko mas mabagal siya mag load ng kaunti pag nagloload ng programs pero pag multitasking na sya dun siya malupet kasi dati naka open photoshop or flash ko then maglalaro ako ng Doom3 or Farcry tapos when i switch back to desktop ambilis niya ma load...
sa Intel naman hands down mas mabilis mag load yung mga software pero pag nagmultitask ka minsan nag chochoke siya sa pag restore ng mga program... so yun... basically pareho lang sila nasa budget mo lang talga kung alin ang pipiliin mo...
btw if intel kukunin mo core2duo ang kunin mo wag yun dual core kasi mas tipid sa kuryente at better performance ang core2duo...
tapos ito add in ko nadin... Nvidia and ATI... ano ba mas maganda? well they both perform excellent pero sa ngayon as in right now... ATI has the most powerful Vid Card sa Higher End and midrange pero when it comes to Low and and some Mid Range pareho lang sila ng performance... if you're an average user and in reality, hindi mo naman na mararamdaman pag sinabi ko na mas laman lang yung isa sa n 4 frames per second sa isang game... and yung mga games kasi ngayon may mga iba na mas maganda mag perform sa ATi may iba mas maganda mag perform sa Nvidia.
tapos pala when you see a game na may Nvidia or Ati logo it doesn't mean na it wont run sa Ati or nvidia and vise-versa... wag mo na pansinin yun marketing lang yun... and wag ka maniwala sa sabi nung iba na pag ATI hindi gumagana yung ibang games etc... hindi totoo yun... ang ganda ng drivers ng ATI ngayon... ang lamang ng nvidia right now is yung PhysX nila... but it can run din naman sa ATI kaso sa 3xxx series palang ndi pa kasi na rerelease yung sa 4xxx series cards...
if you're on a budget i'll recommend nalang na get an Nvidia card kasi binaba nila yung price nung cards nila kasi natatalo na sila ng ATI... and sulit na yung Price to performance ratio niya... ang pinaka worth it na Nvidia card ngayon is the 9800GT bale upgraded version siya ng 8800GT pero with the 9 and GTX series na features...
wag mo lang bibilihin yun 9600GT at 9800GTX ng Nvidia hindi siya sulit... meron kami nito pareho a few months back... pero binenta na namin kasi nakaka dissapoint we replaced it with Ati... you can get your money's worth if you get the ATI counter part ng cards na yun which is the 3850,3870 at 4850... but if you're going for the higher-midrange pati high end cards you should definitely get the ATI cards...

ang deference po ng amd processors and intel processors base sa research ko. madali po kasi uminit ang AMD kaysa INTEL..
kung mapapansin nyo.. talagang mabilis at maganda ang performance ng AMD processors like "ATHLON" kasi lahat ng FSB and registry nya is already overclocked.. kaya mabilis talaga sya,. at mabilis din uminit.. and you can do overclocking kahit naka overclock na sya.. pero ingat lang kasi mabilis sya umusok..
sa INTEL processors. like "Pentium" naka standard lang po lahat ng FSB and Registry nya. kaya normal lang ang bilis at takbo nya. at hindi madaling uminit..
sa patibayan naman po. or quality. subok na ang intel.. why? try to disconnect and remove the "heatsink" of bout processors.. dyan mo malalaman kung sino ang matibay.. if you remove the heatsink. the first will be smoking is the AMD. and pentium will still run kahit walang heatsink. at hindi sya uusok. medyo nag lalog nga lang.. see sa youtube "INTEL vs AMD"

^ yep that's true amd gets hotter than intel... especially the black edition of amd... pero amd really designed these chips to take high heat... case and point... they release black edition processors designed para sa overclocking... it can really take up a lot of heat unlike sa intel swertihan talga ang pag overclock... standard na sa mga processor na uminit kasi malakas talaga ang mga processors ngayon... hindi na gaano issue ang heat sa processors ngayon kasi you can buy aftermarket heat sinks or use watercooling pa... hindi naman recommended talga to stay sa stock cooling... yung ibang amd processors walang kasamang heatsink kasi mas maganda if you'll buy an aftermarket one...
miski yung vid cards ng amd... the ati 4870 and 4870x2 cards were designed to take up to 90+degrees...

^ sa RSUN is cheap kaso hindi kasi ganon kaganda yung selections nila and some of the higher end na mga items nila is more expensive kesa sa price sa gilmore... and may mas mura sa kanila sa gilmore for sure... one of the fav pc stores there is pchub and syempre pcx... great selection and cheap price... pede pa kayo tumawad dun sa ibang stores sa gilmore... pero ang maganda sa rsun meron sila na pang case mods... the little items that's tough to get...

^ pwede siya actually... kaso 1 ati card lang ang magagamit mo dun hindi mo pede ma crossfire pag naka nvidia chipset ka and vice-versa...
pero syempre mas maganda kung cocombo sila na amd+ati or intel+ati or nvidia+intel na nforce series mobo...
pero take note... the nforce series mobo eh mejo maproblema lalo na yung 790i... pero sa vista lang naman namin na eencounter yun but that will be fixed din naman as the drivers mature... tapos mejo mainit ang nforce na mobo... like it goes up to 50-63 degrees yung southbridge at northbridge niya...
mas subok na yung mga Xseries or P series na intel mobos for ati... yung x38, x48, p45 at p35... sobrang swabe niya... i'm using the latest one yung x48... and it's really really fast and super swabe no problems sa kahit ano... kaso mejo mahal siya...
if you want the amd spider na platform pick any ati card para dun na HD series... you'll automatically have crossfireX dun pag nilagyan mo ng ati card yung 780G mobo... pili ka lang dun sa nirecommend ko...
tapos pag nakapili ka patingnan ng mga napagpilian mo tapos check natin kung swabe... or kahit kung may napili ka na mga ibang parts post mo lang and we'll check kung magaganda na napili mo... :-)

nga pala, jan sa specs na binigay mo, mas maganda kung kunin mo na yung mga mas mataas gaya nung sa cpu, kunin mo na dapat yun Athlon 6000+...kung di na kasya sa budget mo, yung generic na lang munang psu ang gamitin mo tapos pag nakaipon ka na tsaka ka mag upgrade ng mas maganda...
kung pwede, quad core ready na dapat yung mobo para wala ka na problem sa pag upgrade ng procy next time...

ok na yan...basta yung vid card ok na din yang 8800gt...250gb is fine kung di ka naman mahilig mag download ng kung anuano...
tama din yung magdagdag ka ng case fans para sa ventilation...basta dapat alam mo kung saan ilalagay ang intake at blowhole..
yan pre, gudlak sa iyong bagong pc! wag mo kalimutan mag post ng pics ng nabuo mo sa pc rigs thread ha? :wink:

yan ok na yan..basta ang importante eh magagawa mo kung ano talaga ang gusto mo dun sa pc ng hindi ka naghihirap sa pera..yung sakin nasa 33k din nung inassemble ko, good pa ito for another 2-3 years...pero baka mag shift na din ako sa quad core next year..kelangan ko na lang mag ipon ng konti...

yes sir meron nang 8core..yun yung gamit namin sa office.. yun MACPRO.. dual quadcore yung laman.. tapos 16gb yung ram, NVDIA quadro FX5600 yung video card na 512mb 512 bit, 3terabit yung hardisk.. 1terabit per hardisk bay.. tapos grabe itong computer na ito.. kayang gumawa ng banner ng 300dpi tapos actual size..

2 gb kingston i scavenged from the old setup posted on this thread AMD sempron LE processor asus m4a78-vm - i bought it because i only need the hdmi interface to play hd movies on my tv.. 250gb seagate encore 802.11g wifi adapter to have it networked to the main pc that i have in my room, where all my files are..and to browse the internetz while watching tv :lol: an unknown htpc case with free 550v power supply..

Sir ok na yang PC mo. If you want upgrade, no need sayang lang considering the stuff you are doing with your computer right now. If PC gamer ka, dagdag ka ng video card na matindi 8800GT/9600GT/HD3870 pataas. You said slow ang PC mo, try mo mgclear ng startup items, running tasks/services or increase PF. Sa blue screen naman malamang may problem na either OS or one of your hardwares. Hope that helps!

If PC gamer ka, dagdag ka ng video card na matindi 8800GT/9600GT/HD3870 pataas. You said slow ang PC mo, try mo mgclear ng startup items, running tasks/services or increase PF. Sa blue screen naman malamang may problem na either OS or one of your hardwares. Hope that helps!
Thanks sa tips, although tinry ko na yung magclear ng startup items, about sa running task/services, medyo hesitant pa ako,tuwing tinitignnan ko yung mga running task/services sa task manager. since hindi ko lam kung anu yung mga impartant na process ang kelangan iretain.medyo takot pa ako,kasi whenever I try to click end process,may warning,baka anung mangyari and about sa pag increase PF. wala pa ako idea dito,try ko iresearch. About sa OS mga license naman siya at orig,every time na try ko insert uli yung disk for some reason hindi ko nakikita yung sinasabi click ko yung repair as if magiinstall uli siya,about sa hardware,di ko alam kung alin ang may problem,hindi kasi ako marunong mga diagnose,maliban sa RAM niya dahil may built in diagnostic tool for memory yung vista,kaya sure ako wala problem sa memory,but other hardware hindi ko alam ang gagawin,but one thing for sure,I need to research more,Salamat uli sa tips,malaking tulong ito sa akin!

post ka ng screenshot dito para mkita ntin kung anong mga tasks ang di kailangan. Go to Start>run>then type "msconfig">then go to startup tab. Get a screenshot of it. Kung mahaba yung list, gawan mo na lang paraan. Take 2 screenshots. Saka post ka din ng screenshot ng "services" tab with "hide all Microsoft services" checkbox checked para di mahaba yung list. Are we good?

@rommelism sabi mo hesitant ka kung ano ang kailangan ipangdelete or iretain .. just download CCleaner, its free .. then install and run the program .. t's will delete all the unnecessary files ..
if you're experiencing blue screen, just try to update your OS .. run Windows Update and it will DL the important updates .. i also experienced blue screen after i changed my OS from Vista to Windows 7 .. i just ran the Windows Update and it's fixed ..
gawin mo rin yung sinabi ni incubus_boy .. run msconfig then go to startup, disable mo yung di mxado need na programs .. same also will apply when you go to services tab ..

No need na sir. di naman malakas kumain vang mga memory modules. Kailangan mo lang tingnan ang power supply if:
-Magpapalit ka ng buong rig mo and you'll be acquiring a hi-end, power thirsty video card(yung may mga PCI-e connector pa) -Mag-ooverclock ka ng processor mo

@rommelism sabi mo hesitant ka kung ano ang kailangan ipangdelete or iretain .. just download CCleaner, its free .. then install and run the program .. t's will delete all the unnecessary files ..
if you're experiencing blue screen, just try to update your OS .. run Windows Update and it will DL the important updates .. i also experienced blue screen after i changed my OS from Vista to Windows 7 .. i just ran the Windows Update and it's fixed ..

Hmm malamang di nga to totoo. Akalain mo HD niya is Seagate Free Agent wahahaha!!! Sayang ang bilis ng PC kung free agent ang HD mo wala nang iba wahaha! Siguro binaklas yung free agent tapos nilagay sa loob hehe. Kahit pa firewire interface niyan (ewan ko lang baka my e-sata na) masmaganda pa rin ang mga local HD na sata

40-45c ung idle temp depende pa po yun sa ambient... while between 50-55c loaded using Super pi. 3.0ghz po yun
mas malamig ng 3-5c si 10x kay V8... athough mas pogi si v8. reason kung bakit ko sya pinalitan eh ang lakas nya sa alikabok at sa gitna lahat naiipon. madali naman linisin through running water. tsaka eto pa pala... common na rin kasi :-(.
unlike kay 10x Extreme. blower mode mo lng vacuum cleaner nyo ok na... nickel coated kasi lahat pati ung fins di gaya ni v8 na ung heatpipes lang kaya kumakapit ung dumi. mirror finish pa pwede ka magsamalin sa base. sakit lang sa ulo ung installation ni 10x hahaha!

Nice input there sir. Actually isang taon ko nang gamit itong Neo ko na naka Win7 64-bit hindi naman nagkakaproblema. Dami ko na ring matitinding recordings na ginawa dito pero yung tipong naghihingalo na talaga siya. Ano ba marecommend ninyo sir? Pwede ko ba dagdagan ng ram itong laptop ko o reformat ko nalang para gawing XP yung OS?

Nice. I agree, I've been using a W7 x64 for over a year now, pag 2gb lang ram talaga kulang, halos 1gb kinakain kasi ng services. Laki din. Kaya tinanggal ko yung ibang services eh, nag search ako sa net ng mga hindi naman importante, yun from 1gb naging 500mb nalang ata yung kain or less pa.

Nagsearch lang ako sa net nun about sa services ng w7. Hindi ko na matandaan kasi last year december pa yun. Saka na reinstall ko nadin kasi w7 ko dito. Search ka lang ng about sa "w7 eats a lot of ram" tapos sundan sundan mo lang dun, alam ko kasi di ko naman nakita agad yun, mejo nabasa ko pa somewhere. Ingat lang, kasi yung iba delikado pag na-off mo, kaya ingat na ingat ako nun. Ang downside lang naman sakin nun eh yung Aero na desktop wala na, parang mukang xp nalang sya sakin nuon, tapos yung mga notifications di na nagpapakita ng maayos, pero it functions well pa naman.
Try mo lang muna i-off yung aero desktop mo, gawin mo windows classic yung themes, tapos tanggalin mo din mga gadgets mo sa dekstop. Tignan mo kung bababa.

Search ka lang ng about sa "w7 eats a lot of ram" tapos sundan sundan mo lang dun, alam ko kasi di ko naman nakita agad yun, mejo nabasa ko pa somewhere. Ingat lang, kasi yung iba delikado pag na-off mo, kaya ingat na ingat ako nun. Ang downside lang naman sakin nun eh yung Aero na desktop wala na, parang mukang xp nalang sya sakin nuon, tapos yung mga notifications di na nagpapakita ng maayos, pero it functions well pa naman.
Try mo lang muna i-off yung aero desktop mo, gawin mo windows classic yung themes, tapos tanggalin mo din mga gadgets mo sa dekstop. Tignan mo kung bababa.

Nice input there sir. Actually isang taon ko nang gamit itong Neo ko na naka Win7 64-bit hindi naman nagkakaproblema. Dami ko na ring matitinding recordings na ginawa dito pero yung tipong naghihingalo na talaga siya. Ano ba marecommend ninyo sir? Pwede ko ba dagdagan ng ram itong laptop ko o reformat ko nalang para gawing XP yung OS?
Yes, you could add more RAM to accommodate more running processes and lessen battery consumption OR install x86 operating system.
You could also try disabling some services of the x64 version to free more RAM, but it defeats the purpose of the x64 capabilites. It's up to you! :)

Outdated na masyado pero I'm still satisfied sa performance nya. Almost brand new palagi ang feeling kasi every few weeks nire restore ko yung fully functioning very clean and streamlined image using acronis TIH.

kung gusto mo maging sobrang brand new tlga on a cheap price, palitan mo ung Video Card mo, siguro ok na kahit GeForce GT630 pag gamer ka, then ung RAM mo din, kahit isang Kingston HyperX 4GB ayus na yan! then if you have some moolah, go for an Intel Core I series lalo na kung video rendering ang habol mo or ung PhysX :)

kaya pa sumabay nito on some recent released games. saka kung 32-bit lang yung OS oks lang yung 2Gb ram though i think that is the bottleneck point of the system. the key to longetivity is being well maintained, including regular system restore and anti-virus/malware protection. yun yung wala ako dati kaya naka-tatlong desktop pc na ako since 2007. :eek: :eek: :-P

thanks sa advise sir, di naman ako gamer so sapat na sa akin yung current GPU ko. saka lga 775 lang to mobo ko sir di ata swak yung newer processors like the i-series.

yup, balak ko upgrade yung ram to 4gb (2 x 2gb) tapos yung lumang ram lagay ko na lang dun sa isang pc. yes sir 32 bit lang yung OS ko and am not planning to go 64 bit soon kasi most of my audio apps aren't 64 bit friendly

@maruzen - improvise ba ang fan sa vrm? hehehehe. imo, benta mo na lang video card mo, dagdagan na lang for a more powerful single card.
thanks for the advice bro manching, actually I just want the experience of a dual video card setup. I know there are less hassles with a single GPU. also I am fully aware that for the price the processor should have been the 3570K but I just wanted to go with the alternative this time :)
the fan is actually part of the Asrock 990FX Extreme4 bundle. but you have to screw it in yourself. weird that they didn't put it there in the first place. so far temps are ok but this is on undervolt.
anyway for those with 10k cash for a processor, do not hesitate to get the Intel 3570K, unless you want to save on the motherboard cost. but for this price range, 10k for a motherboard is necessary as well to maximize the potential of the unlocked CPU.

Wala ka pang true rated PSU dito. Generic PSU + GTX 650 is a disaster waiting to happen. Also, no need na AVR kahit extension lang with surge protection oks na basta true rated ang PSU mo.

Kasya sir pero wala pa budget hehe. Ok naman ang acbel na psu 80+ silver naman. Kinahoy ko lang kasi sa old set-up ko and it has a really served me well for the past 4 years. Mag-upgrade ako to seasonic na 1000W pag mag crossfire na ko.
