Hi all…I’m Jun Tamayo
Learned to play guitar and drums in 1973/74 when I was 9 years old, had my first band in 1976 with my younger brother Albert Tamayo (Now also a famous music arranger).(prodigi ang username niya dito).Had a few bands when I was in high school. We were one of the first bands that played at Shakey’s noong early 80’s, I was the band leader of that band OneZero. I once played lead guitar for Sampaguita sometime noong 1983, I was 19.
I worked as a music magazine editor sa Atlas publications (ATBP music magazine tsaka Golden Hits Music magazine) after I graduated from college in 1986.
My first recording session was in 1988 with a band from Vicor called Jukebox, with my kumpare Jong Azores. Worked in the studio as a session guitarist for productions of record companies like Vicor, Octoarts..etc.
Traveled to a lot of countries around the world playing lead guitar for different bands/showbands from 1989 til 1995. Nag-aral ako mag-sequence (MIDI) while abroad, and decided to quit playing live before I reach 30.
Mr Bob Guzman, Mr. Nonoy Tan and my ninong Mr. Jun Regalado were the first record producers who trusted my work gave me a break as an arranger in 1993. Ayun, tuloy tuloy na… I am now a Music Arranger and producer. I did some songs for Gary Valenciano, Sharon Cuneta, Sarah Geronimo, April Boy Regino, Jolina Magdangal, Francis M, Janno Gibbs. Jaya, Ariel Rivera…at marami pang iba!!! I got nominated as Arranger of the year sa Awit Awards, (Heart Evangelista’s song ONE) 2004 yata yun, di kasi ako nanalo kaya di ko matandaan..he he he…
I also worked for Midisounds Music Productions, late 90's, kay Dr. Erana! Si Doc ang nagbinyag sa akin ng name na JT.
I sometimes play live, medyo nami-miss ko din kasi playing live. I was musical director for April Boy’s US concert tours, Feb to April 2006. I also was MD sa MYX live ni Gino Padilla, July16,2007. Also had a concert done last month (Aug 16,2008) Metrobar QC, album launch ng DSS, Candid Records. I had some of my former bandmates in highschool and college to play with me again.
We will be having a Canada concert tour with Manny Pacquiao maybe early next year, pagkatapos ng fight niya. Mga original members ng True Faith naman ang kasama ko dito, sila Ferdie Marquez (also another famous arranger), Eazer Pastor and Jun Dizon.
Lito Camo is a very close friend and kumpare…I am one of his music arrangers, I did some of his songs for Willy Revillame sa Wowowee, and mostly mga songs ni Manny Pacquiao, (Para Sayo, Laban Natin to..etc)… I play lead guitar for Lito’s band CALZADA.

I have a simple recording studio set-up at my house. I work on a PC platform, I use Sonar/Reason,BFD and superior toontrack for MIDI sequencing. Samplitude 7 and 10 for audio recording. By the way, I still love the Roland MC50 hooked up sa Sonar and Reason…
Guitar influences: (sabi ng mga tropa…)
I started playing Deep Purple songs, Eagles, Led Zeppelin when I was in hi school (1977), so that would be Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton noong time na yun! Then, I became an Eddie Van Halen fanatic, noong lumabas siya! In my late 20’s, anjan na sila Steve Lukather,Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen. And for the past 15 years, I have not been doing research on the guitar anymore; my time had been spent on music arranging.
Regarding PHILMUSIC, I’ve been here for more than a year now. I really enjoy this place!!! I love it here! I don’t join the forums much...but I am online almost everyday while working, addict na yata ako dito!!! madalas ako nasa classified section, ang dami ko nang nabili dito…he he he…and also, I have made a lot of new friends dito sa Philmusic. Ayuz dito mga tol!!! Rock n roll!!!
