?: Non-Standard Tuning
« on: November 05, 2008, 12:40:27 PM »
mga sir, if a guitar is nicely set-up for standard tuning,
will you need to a diff. setup if you go for say drop C tuning?

I think heavier gauge strings (just to keep the usual tension) would do.

sa mga naka-floyd---
i can relate to you (not directly though)---
one of my churchmates has a RG, they played something w/ drop C tuning---
well, bumagsak ung bridge nya.

I use the same tuning as Jeff Kollman and it does really help to have heavy gauages.

Try GHS Zakk Wyld Sig Series that should do the trick.

ah i see, using a tremolno will remedy of having to change the spring tension, if he doesnt have that, using bigger guages to help compensate the tension of the low tuning or just use two spring tension instead of 3

pede rin yung hip-shot sa tingin ko lang

that mostly brings your trem back to zero point, not lock it in place like what the tremolno does, it can do fulllock mode(fixed bridge), full floating and backstop(fulcrum style)
