The Casiopeia Thread....
« on: July 31, 2007, 08:18:18 PM »
I Admit...I'm slowly becoming a fusion addict...First was the Elektric band, next was Greg Howe..now comes Casiopeia.....I have Anton (psychic_sushi) and Jason(jazhombie)  to blame.

Share naman kayo ng listening trips and fave songs and albums nyo about Casiopeia. I wanna know everything about this powerhouse band. Nsa exploration stage ako ngaun. Did it influence your playing?

I really love hearing the 1986 live version of Galactic Funk...groovylicious... my first experience with listening to Casiopeia...forumites..share naman kau...

i've always perceived the drummer and the bassist to be machinelike and technical, but thats just me. huwag magagalit ha....

my favorite is "looking up" great melody in the middle.

then in their last concert video, i love this instrumental they did, wherein they could "stutter" like a skipping record with great precision...

I have with me an unidentified casette from Gapo, which i presume would be from Casiopeia dahil sa style, but i have to confirm. Yung side A studio Version, 'yung side B, live version nung tracks from Side A.

Going back to Casiopeia.

Confirmed, It's the band's material that I grew up with. Thanks bro (hatfield110).

Tears of a Star, Space Roads, Time Limit, The Black Joke - Issei Noro can indeed tame that neck humbucker, and though early phases show Tetsuo overplaying a bit (over slapping?), it is one tight band with great material.

Soli Deo Gloria.

I got hooked to it when my Sensei gave me a concert video set of them. I love Tetsuo's playing. My drummer loves the band because he grew up listening to it despite me being almost 9 years his senior. It made me realize again that age doesn't always go with knowledge.

We already covered Asayake from their Platinum album. I love their songs like "Looking Up", "Space Road", "Maline (?) "Dazzling" and many more. I think the last song I mentioned is a really a good track for a female group almost as it they wrote the song with women in mind.

kala ko wala na to..natabunan na....

because of Casiopea, i also discovered some artists having the same genre,  considering their playing styles are basically within the same context, natuwa lng ako sa mga approaches nila sa kanta.

at marami pang iba....

one thing i knew  di ako magsasawa sa kakapakinig ..love these bands and of course the thread title.

I was watching the Casiopea vs T Square Showdown  with Asayake, MId Manhattan and another song w/c I forgot the title...

Grabe sa Mid-manhattan , ung batuhan ni Akira Jimbo and T Square's drummer, ibang klase , groovewise, nota por nota di sablay kahit saan.
